Couple more, May & July 2014 and Apr 2015. Looks to have been the St Thomas' Hospital East Wing Cladding Project.

https://www.hopkins.co.uk/projects/6/170/

The East Wing is a thirteen storey tower in the centre of the St Thomas' Hospital site. It is situated on the south side of the river Thames, opposite the Houses of Parliament and to the North of Lambeth Palace. The tower was built in 1966 and contained over 200 beds, together with catheter suites, clinical offices, teaching facilities and other ancillary plant and stores, but it suffered from water ingress problems, excessive solar gain and inadequate lift capacity.

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust organised a competition in 2010 to solve these functional requirements and address the building's impact on the wider urban fabric through a high quality architectural solution.

Our competition-winning scheme retained all of the existing façade (made of natural slate, teak and stainless steel) in order to minimise any disruption to the ongoing operation of the hospital. To solve the problems with the existing façade, a layer of glass was added to create a double skin façade with timber louvres in the cavity to control solar gain.

On the rear of the building, the glazing has been taken across the corners of the T-shaped block to create two triangular atria. These atria provide additional space for the bed lifts and help to give the building a new identity.

>Possibly the age of the children provides a hint; are these prams/children visible in RED BUS pic

There are children in the red bus pic, also in the daytime CH pic. ROT set, I think, is child free. Just an observation but does the child in the push chair appear way too old to be in a pushchair? I suppose if you are taking a small child out in central London it is better to have a push chair rather than a screaming child.

>Circumstances to bring very yuung kids.

Probably still within school holidays, people may not have an alternative - or maybe visiting a "Santa's Grotto" somewhere? Or maybe WW. I'm sure most people would rather not take the kids with them for Christmas shopping - also distinct lack of people with shopping bags in the pic.

> little girl with purple hat.

Initially I thought she would be looking at the ad boards - but I think she may be looking at the Ripley building. Looks as though the flags at Cool Brittania have been whipped around by the wind - wound around the poles. Which would imply changes in wind direction, if it was a constant stream in one direction I would think that they have either a hair dryer effect (with wind) or be hanging down (no wind .. obviously). Mind you, I suppose in somewhere like Piccadilly there are multiple potentials for wind tunnel kind of effects. I would also expect the CB shop to reset the flags each day. So may point to a windy day - links in to the storms. Also a couple more potential markers to look for in pics/vids, the yellow sign outside CB and the "flame" light.

Heres a little theory..

>When does a map become a guide?

When you have a route to follow.

Who provides the route? The routemaster? Maybe related to our bus digs?
