Sweeping night view from penthouse balcony of the New Zealand House tower.

https://youtu.be/_ONvU7nVA9o

From the penthouse balcony of the New Zealand House tower, a broad view from the horizon on which Winter Wonderland can be viewed in season, to the route to The Corinthia Hotel via Trafalgar Square/ Northumberland, the London Eye on the Embankment, the Houses of Parliament, and the southwest horizon where the penthouse of NIOC House is situated. While actual eyes-on targets would be possible, in some cases, this sweeping is representative of the 360-degree view of the 'playing field' or the sand map relative to the London Pics that Q dropped. This night video pre-dates those pics, probablly, but places the viewer on a 'watch tower' from which to scope the scenes of these pics.

More to come. Nearer to the target time interval.

>a year, maybe a few months less than that.

Relative to the Gdget of the Year Awards.

Noice.

The advertising of G3 on the LG billboard would effectively be a hard bookend. And the first appearance of the award advert would be a firm bookend on the other side of the interval.

In the mean, there is the absence of the green shack at the UG entrance near Ripley's; its first appearance was that summer and is a solid bookend.

The season clearly is winter, at least cold months of that year 2013/2014, which may fall either side of Christmas Week.

Are the connexions with other pics that might help? The lack of vehicles in the Piccadilly pic stands in contrast with the Embankment pics. The individuals look better dressed for cold months than those who crossed the junction; but there is at least one individual who appears to be grinning and bearing the cold because under-dressed for actual conditions. He is the tall man striding at a quick pace.

The man crossing the street in Piccadilly Circus moved in the first man's wake, right to left, also in contrast with the left to right movement on Embankment.

Given the presence of children, not very early in the day and not very late in the day. Possibly the age of the children provides a hint; are these prams/children visible in RED BUS pic, do you think, IDK. Or in the Emb/CH pics, IDK.

Spot coats that might have been rained on, IDK.

Unlike the more or less clear sky, albeit pitch dark, in EMB/CH, the Piccadilly pics are overcast, certainly. The RED BUS pic seems more bright as per reflections on shiny surfaces. Where are the busses in the Piccadilly Circus on that day at that time of day/week and season, IDK.

Transit issues, perhaps.

Children have moms and dads. Sometimes not together, sure; and sometimes not while standing at Piccadilly Circus, kerbside, waiting for someone or something, shivering in the cold.

One of the ladies turned. Maybe she did not know whence the comer would come; and so stood conspicuously. Waiting for a ride perhaps. Hoping for catching sight of who was to come. If she was on the move, why stand freezing with kids. Or take refuge in a warm place to grab a cuppa hot cocoa or somesuch.

Shops do not seem to be open for business.

Did you do that backwards, first, kek. Noice.

We are using these pics as markers on the calendar. This is in keeping with other drops from Q not directly associated with London pics. The 'event' need not have been captured within the camera frames. But just as we are drawing time intervals, using certain physical markers as time guides, there are other kinds of time gujides that mark time.

Good job, Anon. Worth pursuing graphically, if you are inclined.

Gud info. The lack of shadows suggested overcast both background and foreground. Hard to detect wind or breeze, but what do you see - any signs of gustiness other than maybe the posture of people standing about?

Just curious, isn't it, that people are standing where there will is no bus stop, no cab rank, no place for vehicles to pause to pickup, and, for that matter, no vehicles. Not even push bikes.

Just those two prams on wheels.

Possible refinement of the basic calculation.

Usual hours = 10am to 10pm.

VIP launch day, 5pm to 10pm 21 NOV 2013

Opening day, 5pm to 1022 NOV 2013

Count these half-days together as a single full day.

Closed Christmas DAY, subtract a full day.

End of season, 10pm 5 JAN 2014

So 44 days minus Christmas = 43 days total.

6 weeks x7 days, plus 2 days at start.

.7340 x 43 = 31.5 days.

43 - 31.5 = 11.5 days before end of season.

4 JAN minus 11.5 days.

24 DEC, 4 pm

Could also take into account the Storm Day Closure.

4 JAN minus 12.5 DAYS.

23 DEC, 4 pm.

Does this track alright?

Here's a rough graphic. Will add the timestamp details if the calendar is clear enough.

NYE standing at the bus stand of RED BUS pic.

This is a night recording and, of course, the originator's camera is a bit unsteady but no prob he shows the overhead decorations were very prominent. Thinking if these had been up when the Q pic had been taken, would have been reflected somewhat either on bus or in windows reflected on the bus. Could be wrong, but those shiny reflections in RED BUS pic mean something, I think.

Infographic compares RED BUS with video recorded on New Year's Eve from the bus stop side of Coventry fair close to the bus stop sign.

This 31 DEC 2013 video is a fair match with the Q pic, RED BUS. The new bus stop sign matches; and the yellow trimmed rooft/side of the ticket kiosk in the background of RED Bus is also matched in this video.

However there are differences. Across the street from the bus stand is a small blue structure on the sidewalk which does not match RED BUS; and the overhead Christmas Decorations do not seem to match RED BUS which was captured on a sunny day with good daylight that caused reflections on the shiny red bus panels - well, there is no reflection of the overhead decorations. These points of mis-match could serve as markers; on the other hand, these features may have been present when the Q pic was taken but just out of frame or obscured some other way.

At least there are two details in RED BUS that are well-matched in this video which now would move the bookend to at least 31 DEC 2013, pending confirmation of the details mismatched.

Look for the overhead decorations on 31 DEC 2013 and for the reflected building streetfronts and see if you can spot some indication that the overhead lights, not switch on during daylight, were hanging above the street.

I could find no indication neither in bus panels nor in bus windows.

The overhead decorations were in place for Christmas week, presumably, and remained in place for New Year Eve as per the 31 DEC 2013 video; and remained at least to 19 JAN 2014 as per the video of the corner location at the following link.

This vid shows 3 different times of day at the Bus Stop in RED BUS pic.

https://youtu.be/Q9YQA2qTQjk

Clip 1 = 8:00am

Clip 2 = 12:00 noon

Clip 3 = 2:00pm

https://youtu.be/Q9YQA2qTQjk

Clip 4 = 6:30pm, see mark 6min26secs in original sauce. This clip was recorded in dark, but the decorations are not lit-up.

https://youtu.be/98N1145ZOfY?t=389

So this might move the bookend to 19 JAN 2014; RED BUS would not have been recorded before this date; and probablly not recorded until AFTER the decorations were taken down.

But record before shroud was dropped over LSQ on 23 MAR 2014.

CURRENT interval = 17 JAN 2014 to 23 MAR 2014

To be clear, the original sauce for the 360 view of the RED BUS scene was recorded in 2013, not 2014. Thinking that if decortions were left up previous year, would be similar in 2014. So interval is not rock solid, pending direct evidence from JAN 2014.

Well that was the point, fren. The WW Timeframe brackets an event or events that are the what rather than the when.

The Timeframe covers many years as WW has become an annual winter event. So we estabished the year, as per Q's text; and did so with markers in the London pics Q dropped. The 'OTHER' events are THE what and not a side issue but the main event, as it were.

Could be one of the blue panels that appeared either side of entrance; at one point both panels were torqoise but thinking blue prolly at time of RED BUS. And there are other elements of blue around that area that could account for what is seen through the bus windows. To the right of this, there is a 'mottled' yellowish area which could be window which could show some of the interior of shop next door.

More images from DEC 2013 to MID MARCH 2014 might be good time for focus on potential marker that side of street. The original was posted 12 SEP 2012; recorded on a Sunday night; the Sunday prior was 8 SEPT 2013.

The sign at the bus stand is the older version that would be replaced after the City approved updates to the bus stands at the corner both on Coventry Street and the others on Whitcomb Street.

Anonymous ID: eed238 June 3, 2021, 7:59 a.m. No.13820733   ๐Ÿ—„๏ธ.is ๐Ÿ”—kun   >>0760 >>8546

That's right. So approved 31 OCT 2013, plan was to begin DEC 2013, and finish erly 2016.

There is pictorial evidence the sign had not been altered in early SEPT 2013, confirming that the change in sign seen in RED BUS is a clear marker. Have not found image of sign between 31 OCT 2013 and 23 MAR 2014 but presumably it changed sometime between approval and start of work.

31 OCT 2013 was a Thursday.

Earliest workday would have been 1 NOV, the next day. But this was a TfL sign and so who knows for sure without direct evidence.

Leaves the time interval for RED BUS as 1 NOV 2013 to 22 MAR 2014. But practicalities come into play.

23 MAR 2014 was a Sunday. That is date the stock photo was taken.

Probably the prep work for the shroud and start of scaffolding included staging of crew trailers and parking areas and all of that. That would mean the week before, at least. But most of that would be out of camera frame for both of the stock photos as well as for RED BUS. However, the shroud would as seen on 23 MAR would have been in frame of RED BUS pic.

And, I suppose, changes in the use of the bus stands would also factor in. The RED BUS pic does not show a disturbance or taping off of the WHITCOMB kerbside where the bus stands would have been. But don't see bus in those two spots there. Could be in-between arrivals of buses ending their routes. Those tour buses operate alll day all week. Mostly daylight hours, natch.

On the other hand, consider that the featured double deck is an RML and it is at the bus stand full-on. Not on TfL route. But clearly occupied with passengers.

At 1min33sec the W hotel across the street, kitty corner, shows a torquoise blue; this wall of bright light may have produced reflected colours in the windows behind the RED BUS pic. That source of colour varied, sometimes within minutes, like a rolling palette. For some reason hard to find images of that corner during the time interval at issue.

Keep digging anons coz this sort of marker is what has paid off in dating other pics.

Compare the two vids and watch the corner of the W hotel, at street level, where the panels changed colour, at times displaying bands of different colours, which may resemble the colours shown behind the RED BUS. In other vids, included in the series presented from 2011 to 2014, there is very reflective material at the location behind the double decker. Not saying this is THE source of colour, but those lights on W are very bright and the windows and surfaces at the other corner could have reflected some of that.

Anonymous ID: eed238 June 3, 2021, 6:25 p.m. No.13825029   ๐Ÿ—„๏ธ.is ๐Ÿ”—kun   >>8546

While there is a source of bright colours within the colour range seen behind the double decker, and there are highly reflective surfaces in that position, so far have not seen a match from source to surface in both night and day images. Probably not yet enough to eliminate the possibility, but enough to reduce the likelihood, I think. Fairly subjective assessment.

Anons, if you do spot evidence to eliminate the W as source of a reflection, post please.

At first I did think it would prove to be a rich vein but not so sure now. Process of elimination does nto rule it out, yet, and so intensive digging during the current time interval is called for. Other possibilities, already brought ahead, may be more promising, at this point, but surprises habben when diggerz dig.

Just spitballing here.

  1. Foreigners in town were grounded because the approaching storm caused flight cancellations. They had unexpected free time in London. Stayed over 23/24/25 because of the storm and then the tools-down phenom of Christmas Day in London.

  1. So the Piccadilly Circus scene may have been hours before the storm hit or, maybe more likely, a Christmas Day scene with notablely low vehicular traffic at that spot which is usually much more busy with busses if nothing else.

  1. The scene is striking for another reason. It looks like one of those sci-fi flicks where the featured characters move so fast that everyone else seems to be at a virtual standstill. Most of the pedestrians are static - lingering for some unknown reason - while there are three people in full movement. A tall man is striding to the left; and the left is another man strolling into the first man's path, at a bit of a distance; and then a third man also striding purposefully in the wake of the first man. This may be happenstance but that third man seems to be the main feature in the close-up, second, and more detailed pic. There are turns of the heads among the bystanders.

  1. Ok, then there is Winter Wonderland pics. The night sky looks pretty clear and not very stormy. The ground cover is not puddled nor gleamy wet. Lots of people showing neither hats nor umbrellas. Maybe this was the day after Christmas when a jet-lagged foreigner might have caught up with sleep and then took advantage of being in London longer than planned and so jumped into WW with at least one, maybe more, fellow layover foreigners. Maybe a few of them pooled together and grabbed a luxurious suite at a posh hotel, Corinthia, and did Christmas there.

  1. Have seen SV and other pics that showed double-decker buses near that hotel but not in regular TfL service. Could such a group arrange for a private hire under the circumstances - public transit almost shutdown and such. Maybe a splurge that made the most of the unexpected 'free time'; next thing you know off to WW for a bit of group bonding.

Not convinced, yet, that PS and LP are in the pics and so am open to hunting other targets in our digz. 2013/2014.
