School boards don't have the authority to make laws, only policies.
Know your rights. Schools do not have the power to control your private life, unless you submit to them. Schools have practiced overreach because people let them.
Maybe even get a lawyer.
There is an organization called Home School Legal Defense Association that has been dealing with schools that think that their policies are laws. The school's policies are not laws.

The word violence in this musing could be replaced in many situations with the word restraint. If a person is able to successfully restrain another person then violence per se can be avoided. Consider a small child who is misbehaving. The parent can grab the child and hold their hand. Mission accomplished without violence. So there are degrees of violence that may be necessary to restrain a person from doing harm to themselves or others or to society at large.
Knowing that something is going on that is terribly wrong, is one thing.
But when push comes to shove, most people will do what it takes for their own survival, even if it means submitting or retreating.
It takes a lot of courage to stand up to evil.
It's good to know your enemy's play book.
I would be willing to bet that this kid learned a lot more from his parents than he did from his retarded teachers.
