Former FBI Director Louis Freeh gave $100,000 to a private trust for Joe Biden’s grandchildren, the Daily Mail revealed.

Louis Freeh also spoke with then-VP Joe Biden in 2016 to “explore with him some future work options” that included Hunter Biden.

Freeh, who served as FBI Director under Bill Clinton and George Bush, ran a consulting firm with very corrupt clients who ended up being charged with crimes.

According to the Daily Mail, Freeh’s clients included the “now-jailed Malaysian prime minister who stole billions of dollars from his country and a Romanian real estate tycoon convicted of bribery.”

Freeh brought up the idea again a month later – and mentioned that he was working for the then-Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak, who was in the midst of a scandal over one of the world’s biggest financial frauds, and was later sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2020.

‘I would like to talk with you and Dad about working together next year,’ Freeh wrote to Hunter.

‘No doubt both he and you have many options and probably some which are more attractive than my small shop.

‘As you know, we have both a law firm and ‘solutions/investigations’ group with a very good brand, DC and DEL (and NYC) offices, and a profitable and interesting global practice (eg., I’m currently representing the Malaysian PM and his family).

‘So if it’s something which interests you both, let’s talk about it at some point. I’m very flexible and we could set it up as an equity-share or whatever works best. It would certainly be an honor to work with you both.’

The emails, obtained by DailyMail.com from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, show that around the same time Freeh was making overtures to the Bidens for business deals, he also gave $100,000 to a trust for Joe Biden’s grandchildren.

Lego Unveils LGBTQ Play Set To Virtue Signal — and Conveniently Cash In On Pride Month

Lego has unveiled a new LGBTQ play set to virtue signal ahead of Pride month.

The company announced the 346 piece “Everyone is Awesome!” set on Twitter.

“We’re super excited to reveal our new set – LEGO Everyone is Awesome! Because we celebrate every LEGO builder #LEGO #EveryoneIsAwesome,” Lego said in their post.

Vice President of Design at the LEGO Group Matthew Ashton wrote a lengthy statement about why he designed the play set, saying that there needs to be more LGBTQ representation for children.

“Being quite an effeminate kid, I was constantly told by different adults around me what I should and shouldn’t play with, that I needed to behave like a ‘real boy’ and to toughen up. I was dissuaded from doing the things that came most naturally to me. I think many of the adults around me were doing all of this to try to protect me from getting bullied, but I was actually fine with all the kids at school. All of that has had an impact on me in many ways; it was really exhausting and kicked my confidence,” he wrote.

“So, I think by taking small steps and having products like “Everyone is Awesome” out there and people representing the LGBTQIA+ community, it allows everybody to see that things do get better over time and there is a place for everybody. That’s what’s been so important to me in getting this set out with a message that we can be really proud of.”

Ashton explained that they added black and brown to represent those races, purple for drag queens, as well as the trans flag colors.

“We’ve made sure to include black and brown colors to represent the broad diversity of everyone within the LGBTQIA+ community. We’ve also added in the pale blue, white and pink to support and embrace the trans community as well. I purposely put the purple drag queen in as a clear nod to the fabulous side of the LGBTQIA+ community. Election Officials in Pennsylvania Blame “Coding Error” with Dominion Voting Machines for Flaws with Republican Votes In Primary this Week

Luzerne County, Pennsylvania Director of Elections pointed to flaws with Dominion Voting Machines for issues in this week’s primary election. Ballots labeled as Democrat were popping up on the screen regardless of the voter’s party registration.

Election officials blamed a “coding error” within the Dominion voting machines.

Republican and non-partisan voters at Luzerne County polls Tuesday encountered issues while trying to vote.

Voters were noticing incorrect labeling on electronic ballots in Luzerne County. Regardless of party, every voter was seeing a ballot labeled as democratic primary on the first screen.

“Unfortunately, this morning, the machines were all shut down and people were losing their patience and leaving,” a voter from Exeter said…

…Officials at several voting locations confirmed ballots labeled as Democrat were popping up on the screen regardless of the voter’s party registration. But workers say when the Republican ballots are printed, they do say Republican on the top.

Luzerne County Director of Elections Bob Morgan says the issue didn’t originate here in northeastern Pennsylvania. He told us several times, it was a problem with coding in the voting machines.

“It took us about probably five weeks. We gave a final product to Dominion. There is no evidence of any of this problem on the mail-in ballots which were produced from that file. We’re still working with Dominion to get an explanation as to how this coding error occurred. They were as surprised about it as we were,” Morgan said.

President Vladimir Putin has issued a fiery rebuke to those who, he says, are intent on bringing about the breakup of the world’s largest country, insisting that Russia will defend itself from potential interference from overseas.

In a speech on Tuesday to the ‘Victory’ organizing committee, which is responsible for memorializing those killed in the Second World War, the Russian leader claimed that “everyone wants to bite us somewhere, or to bite something off of us.” If or when this happens, he said the country will “knock out the teeth” of those who try. He said that Russia’s size and its natural resources meant that rivals would always find reasons to attempt to clip its wings as it grew stronger.

“As one of our emperors said, ‘Our enormity terrifies everybody,’” Putin added. The full quote, attributed to Tsar Alexander III, claims this is the reason that “Russia has no friends.”

The president went on to criticize those who claim that the country’s natural resources – much of them in lumber, minerals and energy reserves in the vast expanses of Siberia – should not belong to one country alone. “It’s strange to hear these things, especially in public, but they sometimes come up,” he said.

Russian officials have repeatedly attributed a quote to former US secretary of state Madeleine Albright, in which she purportedly claimed that “the colossal natural resources of Siberia should not belong to Russia alone.” However, there is no clear evidence that Albright said this, and she herself has denied that these were her words. However, the idea that Russia could disintegrate or be broken up has been a longstanding concern within the country, with some Western analysts arguing in favor of the idea.

We Know COVID-19 Was Created in a Laboratory – New Revelations from Inside China Indicate Actual Location of its Military Origin

Information obtained within the last 24 hours from a source inside China challenges the popular narrative about the laboratory origin of COVID-19.

Although, most believe it leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The “bat woman” Zheng-Li Shi of the Wuhan Institute of Virology denies that her institute was the source.

Zheng-Li Shi claims that she and her colleagues discovered the virus in late 2019, in samples from patients who had a pneumonia of unknown origin.

“Before that, we had never been in contact with or studied this virus, nor did we know of its existence,” Shi wrote.

“U.S. President Trump’s claim that SARS-CoV-2 was leaked from our institute totally contradicts the facts,” Zheng-Li Shi added.

She may be partially correct.

I have long said that the creation of the COVID-19 virus was a collaboration among a number of Chinese military centers, not the sole result of “gain of function” experiments conducted exclusively at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The new information from inside China is consistent with that conclusion.

Although still a developing story, here is a summary:

A fully-formed or nearly fully-formed COVID-19 virus arrived at the Wuhan Institute of Virology from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Eastern Theater Command in the early months of 2019.

Contrary to the popular narrative, the COVID-19 virus was sent to the Wuhan Institute of Virology primarily for testing.

The testing was assigned to a group of young virologists. The name of the leader of that group is known and the leader’s scientific background is consistent with that role.

Testing was done on non-human primates.

The Biosafety Level 4 laboratory of the Wuhan Institute of Virology is in Jiangxia District of Wuhan, which is about 12 miles south of Wuchang District, the early epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak.

It is not clear that the Biosafety Level 4 laboratory in Jiangxia District had the capability to conduct experiments using non-human primates.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences’ own website states:

The National Biosafety Laboratory, Wuhan (NBL4) has 2 cellular biosafety labs, 1 small-sized animal lab, 1 medium-sized animal lab, and 1 culture (virus) collection & use lab.”

In contrast, the Wuhan University Animal Experiment Center and the Animal Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory does have the capability to conduct non-human primate experiments.

‘Not limited to words’: German FM visits Israel; asserts its right for ‘self-defense’ amid continued conflict with Gaza

Germany will continue to make it possible for Israel to defend itself as long as there are forces seeking its destruction, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has said during his visit to Israel aimed at promoting “ceasefire.”

Germany’s solidarity with Israel “is not limited to words only,” Maas said as he arrived in Israel for a one-day visit on Thursday. The diplomat insisted the Jewish state had every right to defend itself against what he called “massive and unacceptable attacks.”

“As long as there are states and groups that threaten Israel with annihilation, it must be able to protect its citizens,” Maas said, adding that Germany would “make contributions” to ensure Israel’s ability to do just that.

Maas is scheduled to meet Israel’s Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi as well as other senior Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Reuven Rivlin and Defense Minister Benny Gantz to discuss the measures the international community could take to promote a speedy ceasefire between Tel Aviv and the Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip.

He will also separately meet the head of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas.

Indian government calls on states to declare ‘black fungus’ EPIDEMIC as cases of deadly disease rise

The Indian government has told the country’s states to declare a ‘black fungus’ epidemic as cases of the potentially fatal infection continue to rise among Covid-19 patients.

In a letter on Thursday, the Union Health Ministry called on the states to designate the infection – officially referred to as mucormycosis – as an epidemic under the Epidemic Diseases Act of 1897 and to make the reporting of suspected and confirmed cases to the health department mandatory.

“You are requested to make mucormycosis a notifiable disease… wherein all government and private health facilities, medical colleges will follow guidelines for screening, diagnosis, management of mucormycosis,” the letter read. It added that the disease is leading to “prolonged morbidity and mortality amongst Covid-19 patients.”

Symptoms of infection can include facial swelling and black lesions, and black fungus has a fatality rate of around 54%, according to the CDC in the US.

Thousands of cases of black fungus have been recorded all over India, including at least 2,000 cases and 90 deaths in the state of Maharashtra, where Mumbai is located.

The infection enters a person through the bloodstream via a cut or through the respiratory system via the nose and can then spread to the heart, the brain, and the lungs, among other vital organs. Black fungus has taken a particularly hard toll on those who have already recovered from Covid-19, proving particularly deadly to the most vulnerable.

Experts have alleged that the infection could be spreading through the use of steroids for Covid-19 patients, as well as a lack of sanitation.

To make matters worse, doctors and health officials have been warning of a shortage of the amphotericin B antifungal drug, which is required to treat infections of black fungus.

The statement claims Harris was stepping down to "return to his roots" as an "investor and entrepreneur", and unlike Black's abrupt exit (his departure was apparently accelerated after some unsavory allegations came to light)

Like Black, he will continue to serve on the board and the firm's executive committee, but unlike Black, his departure won't be immediate: Harris will depart on the day the firm's planned merger with health-insurance partner Athene closes, which isn't expected until the end of Q1 2022.

CEO Of TikTok-Owner ByteDance Steps Down After Facing Backlash In China

Zhang Yiming, the mysterious and youthful ByteDance founder who has been the focus of intense media hype in the US, is stepping down from his role atop the Chinese owner of TikTok and its Chinese counterpart, Douyin. Zhang broke the news of his departure in a letter to ByteDance's employees posted on the company's website.

Zhang's co-founder and head of human resources Liang Rubo will take over and lead the company through its expected IPO. It's unclear whether Zhang will continue on in his role as chairman of the company's board.

His departure comes after Chinese regulators ordered more than 30 domestic Internet companies, including ByteDance to abide by more stringent rules governing fair competition and consumer protection, as Beijing couches the tech crackdown - ultimately an issue of economic control - as an anti-trust effort.

As an executive, Zhang is known for rejecting the typically rigid hierarchical structure of Chinese companies with a more horizontal approach, whereby formalities are eschewed and workers are seen as partners working to solve common problems. The approach is intended to ensure the firm never loses the "agility" of a startup. LIang, who was worked with Zhang for years, founded another company with him before starting ByteDance.

As the world wondered about the circumstances of his departure, the FT speculated that the removal of 38-year-old Zhang might be tied to Beijing's crackdown on China's tech titans, the same campaign that led to the disappearance of Alibaba founder Jack Ma, an executive with whom Zhang is often compared.

Zhang founded ByteDance almost 10 years ago and steered the Beijing-based company to create TikTok and Douyin out of acquisitions of popular platforms like Music.ly, His departure comes just as the company is reportedly mulling an IPO, as it endures non-stop pitches from bankers. The company is estimated to have a valuation of $200 billion, making it the world's most highly valued private startup.

At one point in the letter, Zhang joked about handing the reins to his college roommate: "I'm not very social, preferring solitary activities like being online, reading, listening to music, and contemplating what may be possible," he quipped.

Despite his success, Zhang has never been popular among patriotic Chinese, who see him as trying to abandon the company's "Chinese identity" in order to succeed in the West. The NYT has called ByteDance China's only "truly global" company. The company has faced boycotts in China and other issues.

We suspect this won't be the last we hear about Beijing's push to bring the company to heel, especially with a potential IPO - or perhaps even the long-discussed deal with Oracle - on the horizon.

New Yorkers 18 or older who get the shot at state-run sites next week will have a chance to win $5 million through a “Vax and Scratch” lottery program, Cuomo announced Thursday.

That’s the same amount he received for his controversial pandemic memoir.

Any New Yorker who gets inoculated at one of the state’s 10 inoculation locations from May 24 to May 28 will get a free scratch-off state lottery ticket — worth $20 — for the $5 Million Mega Multiplier Lottery, Cuomo said.

“The chances of winning something in this program are one in nine that you win something,” the governor said during a press briefing at Buffalo Niagara International Airport. “So it is a very exciting lottery.”

The first prize winner could score $5 million through the lottery, while the second, third, fourth and fifth prize winners could earn $50,000, $20,000, $5,000 and $2,000, respectively.

The lowest prize in the lottery is $20.

“If you were undecided about getting the vaccine… now you have an added bonus,” Cuomo said. “It is a situation where everybody wins.”

The state-run sites include Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn and the Javits Centers in Manhattan.

Cuomo announced the “major” vaccine “incentive” after noting that has been a 43 percent decline in the number of people getting vaccinated.

The ad, posted to the official Don Huffines Twitter account this morning, begins with a monologue from Younger. “I live in Texas, and my ex wife has been trying to sexually transition my son since the age of three. She wants him to be a girl. I’m fighting for my son’s life because our politicians refuse to ban the barbaric practice of transition therapy, puberty blockers, and even genital mutilation surgery on kids,” said Younger. “Two years ago, after receiving a massive amount of pressure about his silence on this abuse, Greg Abbott tweeted this.”

In the 2019 tweet, Abbott claimed, “FYI the matter of 7 year old James Younger is being looked into by the Texas Attorney General’s Office and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.” Younger explains that Abbott has remained completely silent and inactive on the issue since writing the tweet almost two years ago.

Tennessee lawmakers fuming after migrants reportedly snuck into state

Tennessee lawmakers are expressing alarm after videos emerged showing airplanes quietly transporting unaccompanied illegal immigrant children into the state in the dead of night — after the state’s governor told the president last week not to bring them there.

In videos obtained by local station WRCB-TV Channel 3 Wednesday, multiple planes carrying the minors could be seen arriving at Wilson Air Center in Chattanooga in the middle of the night.

In another video posted Thursday, the children, who carried matching bags and appeared to be in their early teens, were put on buses staged on the tarmac.

In total, there were four buses.

The White House did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment on the videos. Nor did the Department of Homeland Security.

Speaking to Fox News, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) accused the Biden administration of transporting migrants in “the dead of night without the knowledge or permission of the communities involved.”

A Blackburn aide told The Post that their office was “confident” that more planes were on the way.

They noted there had already been three plane arrivals in one week that they were aware of, with the most recent being spotted Wednesday morning.

Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) also fumed about the planes when reached by Fox News, saying in a statement, “I have warned for months that President Biden’s failure at the border would result in a systematic resettling of migrants in our communities, burdening our schools, hospitals, and law enforcement agencies, and bringing an increase in drug trafficking and human smuggling.

Judge STOPS Biden’s Racist COVID Relief Policy After Trump Advisor Stephen Miller Sued The Administration

A judge from the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas sided with Stephen Miller’s America First Legal (AFL) against the Biden Regime’s policy of discriminating against white business owners in the COVID relief plan.

The Judge specifically filed a restraining order against the Small Business Administration (SBA) in defense of a Texas Restaurant owner who has not gotten relief from the SBA Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF), despite losing revenue during the pandemic.

The Biden Regime passed the American Rescue Plan Package earlier this year. Much of the financial aid allotted to small businesses within the spending bill prioritized minorities and nonwhites over white business owners. The Judge wrote in his statement that the “Defendants’ [the Biden Administration’s] use of race-based and sex-based preferences in the administration of the RRF violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution.”

Stephen Miller, former Senior Adviser to President Donald Trump, and his America First Legal nonprofit said in a statement that “This ruling is the first, but crucial, step towards ending government-sponsored racial discrimination. We are proud to have obtained this order for our courageous client at this initial stage, but we have a long way to go.” The statement went on to explain the case further: “the government puts some owners at the back of the line for access to a limited pool of money based on their race. So we are presented with a simple but vital question: can the government reward or punish American citizens based upon the color of their skin or the ancestry of their families? We all know the answer.”

Biden’s Counter-Extremism Committee Includes CCP Advocates and Far-Left Twitter Trolls.

Members of President Biden’s newly launched Counter Extremism Working Group include individuals who’ve advocated on behalf of Chinese Communist Party-linked companies and far-left Twitter trolls.

The group – comprised overwhelmingly of left-wing activists – is tasked with advising the Secretary of Defense on how to “counter extremism and counter terrorism to better understand the scope of the problem.”

Among its members is the Director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) National Security Project Hina Shamsi, who advocated strongly against former President Donald Trump’s efforts to ban Chinese Communist Party-compromised apps including TikTok and WeChat.

Despite the founder and CEO of TikTok’s parent company pledging to use his company to promote “socialist core values” and other security concerns, Shamsi spearheaded a statement from the ACLU entitled “Don’t Ban TikTok and WeChat.”

“The data TikTok and WeChat collect does not appear substantially different from the kinds of data other foreign companies or American companies like Facebook or Google collect,” she posited. Shamsi also released a separate statement on behalf of the ACLU opposing Trump’s ban:

“This order violates the First Amendment rights of people in the United States by restricting their ability to communicate and conduct important transactions on the two social media platforms. The order also harms the privacy and security of millions of existing TikTok and WeChat users in the United States by blocking software updates, which can fix vulnerabilities and make the apps more secure.”

Shamsi has also criticized the TikTok ban at an event hosted by the group United Chinese Americans (UCA), which has attacked legitimate concerns about Chinese Communist Party influence operations as racist.

Another member – the former leader of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Project – has repeatedly hyped conspiracy theories about QAnon on Twitter, alleging “half of Republicans think QAnon is good for the world & 80% of Trump supporters into it.”

Beirich has also trolled Representative Marjorie Taylor-Greene on the platform, commenting “Did Q tell u this? Get real” on a post about election fraud.

Hunter Biden’s ‘Spy Chief of China’ Partner Calls US Climate Demands ‘Meaningless.’

Patrick Ho – Hunter Biden’s business partner whom he dubbed the “spy chief of China” – insisted that China “has nothing to be apologetic about” regarding climate change and pollution.

The remarks come from a blog post written by Ho, who appears multiple times in Hunter’s e-mails, as the pair inked million-dollar business contracts. Ho served as the chairman of CEFC China Energy during his work with the president’s son, before being indicted by the Justice Department for “schemes to bribe top officials for business advantages.”

Ho’s writings appear to confirm a sentiment that many Americans outside the Biden White House share: just 15 percent of Americans believe China will “help fight climate change.”

While President Biden insists the Chinese Communist Party will follow through on its climate promises, hosting several events and dispatching climate envoy John Kerry to China, Ho posits that “China Has Nothing to Be Apologetic About!” concerning the environment.

What’s more, the blog post came just one week after Kerry’s climate-focused visit to China.

“Compared to what one might understand from everyday media reporting, these figures paint a very different picture of China’s responsibility for climate change. Saying that China is the world’s largest emitter is meaningless and misleading,” Ho writes. “China’s responsibility for climate change is far less than what is regularly implied in mainstream media,” he continues.

While deflecting blame for China’s emissions, Ho asserts that the USA needs to “assume and resume their share of responsibility.”

“The reality is that China’s responsibility for climate change is not as simple as “biggest emitter.” A more comprehensive analysis reveals that the Chinese people have contributed far less to climate change than the people of many other countries; more importantly, it also shows the great sacrifices they have already made in mitigating the problem,” he adds before concluding: “The rest of the world is now being asked to exhibit the same kind of leadership. The answer awaits in Washington.”

Authorities Seize $Millions In Counterfeit Designer Face Masks From China.

Officials seized thousands of fake face masks worth over $1,300,000 entering the U.S. from China.

“U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Indianapolis halted a shipment arriving from China that contained more than 4,500 designer face masks,” the agency’s press release notes.

Destined for Puerto Rico, the shipment contained face masks from luxury brands including Dior and Louis Vuitton:

“Inside officers found 4,550 counterfeit medical face masks from fashion designers such as Dior (1,150), Louis Vuitton (1,100), Gucci (1,400), Burberry (400), and Fendi (500). The face masks were reviewed by an import specialist who determined the items were counterfeit. If these items were real, the total MSRP for these would have been more than $1.36 million.”

Rich Get Richer: Stacey Abrams Lands Deal for Two More Political Thrillers

A full 20 years since her first novels hit bookstores, Democrat activist Stacey Abrams is back writing again and securing lucrative deals for two forthcoming political thrillers.

AP reports the left-wing political activist, voting rights activist, and failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate has a deal for two political thrillers with Doubleday and Anchor Books.

The new novels will reprise the law clerk Avery Keene from Abrams’ current work, While Justice Sleeps, which came out last week and is already atop the New York Times bestseller with more than 100,000 copies in print.

Abrams, 47, is also the author of the nonfiction books Lead from the Outside and Our Time Is Now.

In 2019, Abrams told The Late Show host Stephen Colbert she wrote under a pseudonym because her editors worried romance readers would google her name and be put off by her other published work.

Alex Marlow Reveals Billionaire ‘New Soros’ Funding Left-Wing Media on Mark Levin Show

Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow said his identification of Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Steve Jobs, as “the new Soros” funding left-wing news media is the most significant revelation in his book, Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption.

Marlow spoke with Mark Levin on the latter’s eponymous radio show to share the discovery of Laurene Powell Jobs as a largely unknown mogul of left-wing news media.

“I want to share something with you that I saved specifically for you and this audience, what I think is the most important revelation in the book, which is I believe I’ve uncovered the new Soros on the Democrat left,” said Marlow on Wednesday’s edition of the Mark Levin Show.

Marlow praised Levin’s Unfreedom of the Press as an essential primer for his writing of Breaking the News.

He continued, “It’s a woman named Laurene Powell Jobs, and she’s the widow of Steve Jobs, and this is a woman who’s very cleverly come up with a way to fund the prestige establishment press. I’m talking about the Atlantic, which she owns. She also owns most of Axios, but she also funds the activist press, the press that essentially tries to launder Democrat propaganda — left-wing propaganda — through local news outlets, and of course, she’s very tight with Democrat politicians.”

“[Laurene Powell Jobs] is said to have a tight close personal relationship with Kamala Harris, and of course, she’s networked with the biggest companies in the world. She gets her money from Apple and Disney. This person has done this and been named the most mysterious mega-giver in the world.”

News media outlets broadly ignore Jobs’s role as a benefactor of the industry given the long shadow she casts over the news media landscape.

“The reason why [Laurene Powell Jobs] gets away with it, in my opinion, is that she employs so many journalists,” Marlow determined. “That’s the trick. If you’re in the media, you’re either currently her employee, or maybe one day you will be soon. This is a blockbuster, in my opinion, and I hope everyone checks out the book and takes a look at the rest.”

In 2020, Fox News reported an estimate of Jobs’s net worth at $18.5 billion.

Over 100 Planes Have Arrived In UK from India Since Coronavirus Travel Ban

Over 100 planes from India have landed in Britain following the country being placed on the United Kingdom’s list of travel prohibited countries over concerns about the Indian variant of the coronavirus.

Analysis conducted on flight data in Britain shows that there have been 110 direct flights from India to Britain over the past three and a half weeks. While other countries placed on the so-called ‘Red List’ have seen British-bound flights banned, India has notably skirted this crackdown.

According to LBC, an average of 4.5 flights have arrived from India per day since the designation was imposed, despite government officials claiming that the Indian variant of the virus may result in lockdown restrictions on Britons continuing beyond Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s planned reopening date of June 21st.

Data from the government’s NHS Test and Trace system reveals that between April 22nd and the 5th of May, 4,258 travellers from India were tested for the virus. During the two-week period, seven per cent of those entering the country tested positive for the coronavirus, 46 per cent of whom tested positive for a “Variant of Concern” or a “Variant Under Investigation”.

The British government has prohibited direct flights from 11 other countries on the red list, including South Africa and Brazil, but has so far refused to impose the same restrictions on India, or indeed on the neighbouring countries of Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Though international travellers from Red List countries are required to quarantine in a hotel for at least ten days, there are concerns that they may still spread the virus while in crowded areas of the United Kingdom’s airports.

Stunningly, people arriving from countries deemed low-risk are entering the country through the same airport terminals as those from high-risk countries, such as India.

Mexico Issues Arrest Warrant for Border-State Governor

A Mexican federal judge issued an arrest warrant for the governor of the border state of Tamaulipas for organized crime and money laundering charges. Authorities also ordered the freezing of accounts linked to the governor and various other individuals.

On Wednesday afternoon, Mexican Senator Ricardo Monreal Avila announced on social media that Mexico’s Attorney General (FGR) obtained an arrest warrant against Tamaulipas Governor Francisco Garcia Cabeza de Vaca.

Police Across The Middle East and Africa Arrest 287 for Drug Trafficking

Police in 41 countries across Africa and the Middle East arrested 287 people and seized drugs worth some 100 million euros (more than US$122 million) in two operations coordinated by Interpol.

Codenamed “Lionfish,” the operation included two major busts that provide a snapshot into how drug traffickers are “constantly seeking new routes and ways to smuggle narcotics across borders,” the police organization said.

Officers coordinated actions at borders during a specific two-week period in March and April, first on the African continent and then in the Middle East and in North Africa.

As a result, authorities confiscated 17 tons of cannabis resin—valued at 31 million euros (about $37 million)—from warehouses in Niger. This is reportedly the largest seizure in the country’s history.

Shipped from Lebanon to the Togolese port of Lomé, the drugs were heading for Libya, according to Interpol. The group has seen a “marked increase” in drug traffickers using Libya as a transshipment point, the report added.

“The striking results of these two operations demonstrate the sheer scale of the trade in illicit drugs and its international nature,” said Jürgen Stock, Secretary General of Interpol.

“Drug trafficking is a threat that we collectively face and the massive seizures achieved in Operation Lionfish show what is possible when law enforcement fights back together,” Stock added.

During the same time period, South Africa Police arrested ten people and seized 973 cocaine bricks, worth an estimated 32 million euros ($39 million), from a fishing boat off the country’s western coast.

“Drug trafficking most often is the causal factor to so much of the violent crimes plaguing our societies,” said General Khehla Sitole, the National Police Commissioner of South Africa.

“I don't believe that there is any country in this world that is immune to drugs and this is what makes our collaborative effort even more critical to overcoming this scourge,” he added.

The two operations also recovered 200 kilos of amphetamines, 56 kilos of heroin, 30 kilos of methamphetamines, 21 kilos of cocaine powder, as well as uncut diamonds, live pangolins, illicit cigarettes and vehicles.
