I had this crazy idea of starting up a non-profit community center to help give folks a place to work through their issues, while giving people in the community that are a little better off a space to offer up their talents on a per-tip basis. The idea is to ultimately bring people together while de-indoctrinating stereotypical understandings of togetherness by coupling it with humanity. I call it a "love test".

What do you anons think? Would it succeed or would it fail?

Sentimental all around

xactly. Dr's give "donated" check ups, free pool hall, batting cage. Think old abandoned malls, but much smaller (vacant supermarkets?). Non-profit community centers where volunteers come for fellowship and to give of their talents. Anons visiting, or those desperately in need can come stay temporarily until they get on their feet. Restaurants donate food for tax write-offs, etc.

Everything is donation; no minimums charged at all. It's like a thrift store meets a soup kitchen, meets a hangout safe for everyone.

You're right. There's approximately 380,000 businesses operating under a model that is similar, but different. I would imagine they'd hate the competition.

There's also 2,700 other very similar businesses operating in the USA that might see it as an encroachment on their market, too.

I explored it once. Ended up getting caught up in some misunderstandings and misinterpretations. In all fairness, you have to admit that all the cacophony is difficult to swim through for small brained folks like myself. Sometimes it really is best just to stick to what you know (the general you, not (you), you), and turn up the squelch on the CB because the noise is, no doubt, plentiful.
