That is literally what they do to our children everyday in America. Can you imagine seeing a newborn baby and all you want to do is to plunge hypodermic needles into their tiny bodies. Yet that is EXACTLY what happens immediately after birth in America. A damnable "Hepatitis B" (really a brain damaging toxic dose of aluminum) vaccine is administered to every US newborn unless the parents go through hell and high water to prevent it. This is the real reason lay midwifery is illegal in the US. People who actually attend birthing mothers know that in the majority of cases a child will be born just fine and birth is a natural process with low risk until doctors get involved. However, when you hold the new family hostage in a hospital they will do nearly anything to get out. It is literally that bad.
