Gosar Champions Resolution To Terminate COVID-19 Emergency Declaration In Effect Since March 2020

Gosar and other House Republicans have introduced a resolution to debate whether the emergency declaration should continue.

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) is championing a joint resolution to end the state of emergency declared by President Donald Trump on March 13, 2020, officially declaring the COVID-19 pandemic an emergency and giving the White House unique powers meant to curb the threat posed by the China-originated virus.

In a press release, Gosar’s office explained, “After over a year of living under an emergency declaration with Congress failing to do its due diligence to decide if the emergency should continue, this resolution will force Congress to debate and vote on termination.”

Alongside Gosar are Reps. Matt Rosendale (R-MT), Thomas Massie (R-KY), Chip Roy (R-TX), Ralph Norman (R-SC), Brian Mast (R-FL), and Randy Weber (R-TX). Massie was sharply criticized by both Republicans and Democrats for being the only member of the House of Representatives to vote against the original COVID-19 relief package in 2020.

Gosar explained that “Over a year later, with cases failing, vaccine rates rising, and states reopening, it is prudent for Congress to consider the merit of this emergency continuation. I have always said, good process, makes good policy, which makes for good politics. Ensuring Congress adhere to good process is the foundation for an effective government, and I am proud to introduce this resolution to restore Congressional role in emergency powers.”

“The National Emergencies Act was never intended to give the President endless and unlimited authority over Americans’ lives,” said Roy. Rosendale added, “Too often, government policy and basic reality don’t align. The vaccine is here, it is available, and the emergency is over, but on paper, the emergency continues.”

Gosar’s office explained that the NEA, passed in 1974, was designed to “reign in presidential emergency powers” by allowing Congress to “enforce checks and balances on these unique powers by determining whether or not to terminate the emergency six months after it is declared.” The statement adds, “Congress has lazily interpreted the law to mean that if no member motions to terminate the emergency, then there is no opposition to it. This blatantly ignores good process, keeping representatives from debating and voting on the merits of continuing the emergency and the unusual powers it gives the President.”

Gosar has repeatedly questioned government policies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. After it became clear that the Biden administration sought to use the influence of the private sector to push controversial COVID-19 vaccine passports, Gosar was one of the first House Republicans to oppose the plan. “Vaccine passports but no voter ID,” wrote Gosar on March 29. “Clown country.”

Felipe Vazquez found guilty on abuse charges from having sex with 13-year old

Former MLB pitcher Felipe Vazquez was found guilty of sexual assault charges from having sex with a 13-year-old girl in 2017, reports said Thursday.

A Westmoreland County, Penn. jury found the two-time Pittsburgh Pirates all-star guilty on 10 counts, including statutory sexual assault, sexual abuse of children and indecent assault of a minor under 16, according to Wink News.

But the jury found him not guilty on 10 charges of unlawful contact or communication with the girl, the outlet reported.

The jury asked the judge to see pictures and video of the girl during deliberations, according to Wink.

The victim, now 17 and a Florida resident, was in the courtroom at the time of the verdict, WPXI 11 said. She had testified that she and Vasquez had sex in his car outside her home hours before an afternoon Pirates game, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

Vazquez, arrested in September 2019, had maintained that at the time they had sex he thought the girl was 17, which is the age of consent.

Indian Air Force MiG-21 Bison Crashes in Punjab, Pilot Killed

There have been several accidents involving decades-old MiG-21 aircraft in India. In April, a pilot was killed in a crash in Rajasthan, while in January another MiG-21 Bison jet crashed in the Rajasthan state while landing, although the pilot survived the incident.

Last night, a military pilot was killed after an Indian Air Force MiG-21 Bison aircraft crashed during a routine training mission in the northern state of Punjab, the Indian Air Force announced on Friday.

An Indian Air Force official said that the accident took place at around 2 a.m., local time, near the Punjab's western sector. The pilot, Sqn. Ldr. Abhinav Chaoudhary, who reportedly ejected, nonetheless sustained fatal injuries.

This year, three single engine MiG-21s of the Indian Air Force crashed in different sectors.

The Indian Air Force received its first MiG-21 in 1963, and progressively inducted 874 variants of the Soviet-built supersonic fighters to bolster its combat potential.

The Indian Defence Ministry plans to phase out the remaining four squadrons of the MiG-21 Bison aircraft - a squadron has 16 to 18 fighter jets - in the next three to four years.

Richard Doty, who has been a name long-standing in the UFO field as a “disinformation agent,” previously worked with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), and has been said to have approached UFO witnesses through the 1970s and 1980s, and misinform them about the truth behind UFOs. Most famous, would be his involvement in the Paul Bennewitz affair, in which it landed Bennewitz in a psychiatric facility.

The below records consist of the entire RELEASABLE personnel files for Richard Doty, while he was working as a New Mexico State Police Officer. All information contain herein, is public record, and was received via a Inspection of Public Records request, pursuant to NMSA 14-2-1 et seq. The redactions were done by the New Mexico Department of Public Safety prior to release. The other information is considered releasable under NM state law.

Note: The existence of this file was teased a couple years back by Tim McMillan, who moved on from running his blog, and no works writing for another that he co-founded. His “Chasing the Coyote’s Tail” blog went offline, and it is unclear if the FULL posting of the below records ever took place, though there was a message later it was online, but never announced. There is no Wayback Machine archive to reference what was or was not released. I have been asked by many where these files could be accessed, and after looking throughout various social media sites, etc., I could not find more than 25 or so pages.
