kind of doubt durham will be doing any "swooping"
while the ever given was stuck i read that the large ships travel in daylight
at night the smaller ones go through
they might not show on the ship tracker
the ever given will be tied up in lawsuits for a long time and won't be released until they pay the canal for damages
it also failed a seaworthy inspection so it can't go into the open sea until it is repaired
so it can't leave the canal
traffic might be slower because ships set out on the long route while the canal was blocked
they will have to get back to normal routes again
i don't know why they aren't moving then
the news all just went quiet after the ever given was refloated
but that ship will be there until someone pays up
this is why the fertilizer that blew up in beirut was stored there
it and the ship were tied up in lawsuits for years
that ship was not worth enough to pay for so the owners just walked away
the evergiven is a much more valuable ship
but they want $900 million to release it
20,000 containers=how many lawsuits / insurance claims?
dw.com says the japanese are trying to reduce the use of the canal
because of the incedent and payments demanded
other reason given was shippers do no want to be stuck there if a bigger war breaks out in the mideast
evergreen has 200 ships itself
i think they meant that everyone has caught on to the press lies
so now they have to get "independent" "fact checkers" to tell you the lie is true
thats why everyone makes fun of the fact checkers
