I think Hobbs wants to set up the narrative that Cyber Ninjas hacked the machines and that's why this audit that will show the fraud came out like it did.
Maybe she'll try to run with the line that now she'll have to spend millions on new machines and it's all Cyber Ninja's fault. Just paint them as hackers before the results hit.
Back of my mind says good guys may have broken any code encryption and/or reverse-engineered the algorithms. Wondering, too, if the reported SNAFU"s in the primaries are somehow related, and it was the good guys fucking with cabal to send a message. Bad guys got spooked and Hobbs had to be trotted out to do damage control. Something like that.
