Next, the astronomers use what's called the "redshift" to calculate how the universe's rate of expansion might have increased over time. Redshift is the name of the phenomenon that occurs when light stretches as the universe expands.
The redshift has been shown to be quantized, meaning that it differs in steps and not on a smooth gradient as should be expected. Also, Hubble himself did not suggest universal expansion. Even since a Jesuit priest opined about the expanding universe, it has become a religious belief to be defended at all costs. This is why "science" is all fucked up.
