There was a Gulfstream SAM 523 doing this last night as well.

SAMs seem to be good indicators of messaging. The squawk cycling is weird, can be set from the cockpit so indicates pilots/navigators are doing the switching.

Squawk is normally allocated by air traffic controllers in an ATC area.

Any Anons know why there could be an innocent explanation for this rapid shifting of transponder squawk numbers?

Correction last night SAM523 turned out to be a 737 not a Gulfstream, it was not identifying type, but another Anon traced its Hex Code.
