Donald Trump: (01:44) Best unemployment numbers, best employment numbers, 160 million people working, highest stock market price. You wouldn’t say that to Biden, what you just said to me. If he had it, you would never say that to Biden. We had the best stock market price ever, that we’re getting close to that price again. We had the best … Everything was the best. Our companies were doing better than they’ve ever done before. You cannot even think about talking about that.
Lesley Stahl: (02:09)Well, I’m not going to fact check you
Donald Trump: (02:13) Well, you don’t have to fact check me.

Donald Trump: (02:15) I mean, excuse me. The stock market was at its highest, the unemployment numbers for African-Americans, for Asian Americans, for Hispanic Americans, for everybody were the best. Virtually every number was the best. We had the best economy ever. And what was happening is things were coming together-
Lesley Stahl: (02:32) Well, I asked you what your single biggest priority was.
Donald Trump: (02:34) Well, I’m going to say that. And the other side was starting to call, let’s get together. There was going to be unity. And then we got hit with the plague and we had to do it again. And we closed it up and I saved millions of lives. Millions of lives we saved. And now the economy’s growing again at record numbers. 11.4 million people employed in the last short period of time.
Lesley Stahl: (03:00) But what’s the priority? I mean, those are all good things, but what do you want to solve?
Donald Trump: (03:04) The priority now is to get back to normal, get back to where we were, to have the economy rage and be great with jobs and everybody be happy. And that’s where we’re going and that’s where we’re heading.
Lesley Stahl: (03:16) And who is our biggest foreign adversary?
Donald Trump: (03:20) I would say China. They’re an adversary. They’re a competitor. They’re a foe in many ways, but they’re an adversary. I think what happened was disgraceful. It should never have happened. They should never have allowed this plague to get out of China and go throughout the world.

Born to Fred and Sharon and a native of Arizona's West Valley, Boyer attended Deer Valley High School.[4]
Boyer earned his bachelor's degree in English and his MA in communication studies from Arizona State University West andhe teaches 11th grade Humane Letters part-time at North Phoenix Preparatory Academy and previously taught at Veritas Preparatory Academy.[5]
Previously, Boyer served as an official spokesman and policy advisor for House Majority at the State Capitol, the legislative liaison for the ArizonaDepartment of Corrections, and a spokesman for Mesa Public Schools.[1] Boyer is currently a part-time teacher for Great Hearts Academies.[6]
In April 2021, Boyer voted to purge approximately 200,000 individuals from Arizona voter rolls because they had not voted in two consecutive election cycles.[7] He had previously joined the Democrats in February 2021 in the Arizona Senate in blocking Michelle Ugenti-Rita's Senate Bill to purge the voter rolls.[8]
In February 2021, Boyer was the only Republican that joined the Democratic caucus in the Arizona Senate to vote against holding the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in contempt for not following a subpoena of the senate. The Senate had subpoenaed access to all voting machines and copies of all mail ballots in Maricopa County in a pursuit to prove allegations of widespread irregularities in the 2020 presidential elections. The Board of Supervisors believes that subpoena to be unlawful.[9]
Boyer supported an audit into Arizona's election results in the 2020 presidential election; there was no evidence of any significant fraud in the election and two previous audits did not find any fraud. After Republicans initiated an audit, led by a company headed by a pro-Trump conspiracy theorist,Boyer said that he was embarrassed by the audit and that "It makes us look like idiots." He went on and said “Looking back, I didn’t think it would be this ridiculous. It’s embarrassing to be a state senator at this point.”[10]
•. Boyer supports measures to limit gun control. In 2016, he introduced legislation to prevent the use of smart gun technology in Arizona. This technology adds additional safety measures that must be met in order for the gun to fire, such as fingerprint recognition or requiring the shooter to wear a special ring.[11] He received an A rating from the NRA.[12]
•. 2012: With incumbent Republican Representatives Jeff Dial and Bob Robson, redistricted to District 18, and with incumbent Republican Representative Carl Seel, redistricted from District 6, Boyer ran in the three-way August 28, 2012, Republican primary, placing first with 12,224 votes,[13] and won the first seat in the November 6, 2012, General Election with 37,143 votes, above incumbent Representative Seel and the Democratic nominees, former Representative Jackie Thrasher and Tonya Norwood.[14]
• 2014: Boyer and Anthony Kern defeated Democrat Amy Schwabenlender on November 4. Boyer was the top vote-getter in the election with 25,610 votes.[15]
•. 2016: Boyer and Anthony Kern were unopposed in the Republican primary.[16] They defeated Democrat Chris Gilfillan on November 8. Boyer was the top vote getter in the election with 39,780 votes.
• 2018: In the General Election, Boyer defeated Democrat, Douglas Ervin, for a seat in Arizona's State Senate from District 20, by 35,170 votes to 32,352 votes.
