face it folks, the VAST majority of people are shallow, vain, vacuous, illiterate, fuckwits, obsessed with what they IMAGINE other shallow, vain, vacuous, illiterate fuckwits think about them. always has been, always will be. there will never be a great awakening in that regard, and so there will never be a permanent solution to corruption and the rise of evil rulers.
