"Historicity" is the error in conflating the False Prophet (pope) with the Antichrist (emperor/king/prince).
There are two people cast into hellfire.
Two.
Not one and a system.
Two people.
I don't know why you people cling to this error, but it casts serious doubt on your ability to discern the truth from the scriptures.
Revelation 19:20
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. Thesebothwere cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beastandthe false prophetare, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Don't cling to the beliefs of the Reformers if they do not comport with the scriptures.
