PF here. I think I may have captured evidence of an op in Italy in January. This was before we learned of the Italian govt. blowing the whistle on the election.

The two KC-10's pictured flew as a pair on Jan. 9 all the way from Italy. It was an unusually long non-stop flight, all the way to Nevada IIRC. I see a lot of trans Atlantic tanker flights, but never that route, and it stood out as unusual to me. Maybe it was because KC-10s are getting to be a rare sight. Maybe it was the route or the timing, or the fact KC-10s can be set up with passneger seating. Perfect way to smuggle someone out of italy if you ask me.

The C-17 pictured flew from Spain Jan. 14 all the way to Italy and back, without ever landing. Highly unusual for a cargo plane, and my suspicion at the time was a HALO drop of a SpecOps team.

Also on Jan. 14, this C-26 made an unusual flight over the same area of Italy just a few hours later.

Make of it what you will. Other fags can determine what was going on during those days in Rome or elsewhere. I seem to remember a lot of helicopter activity as well.
