Why is Vermont selling off it's Accuvote voting machines on Ebay?

(My comment: This is so stupid in so many ways. But, you should know that Vermont uses the Accuvote machine just the same as Windham, NH. Audit Vermont votes!)

(Headline) He’s a machine ‘collector’

Harri Hursti, a Finnish-born, U.S. citizen, has emerged as the chief spokesman for the Windham forensic election audit that concluded its third day of work Friday.

Hursti is the appointee of Secretary of State Bill Gardner and Attorney General John Formella.

Hursti cut his teeth in the ballot security business in 2005, when he wrote a paper explaining how he was able to hack into an AccuVote machine, the very machines used to count ballots in Windham and 85% of New Hampshire cities and towns.

That’s why when Hursti saw that a “county in Vermont” put its old AccuVote machines for sale on EBay, he gobbled them up.

Early on in this count, Hursti asked for a check that would show if one kind of hack had occurred.

Sometimes, hackers avoid detection by wiring a machine so that later tests show nothing out of the ordinary.

Hursti asked that the machines be recalibrated to Nov. 3, 2020, the date of the election.

At that point, a rereading of the tape from the Windham machines looked fine.
