In 1990 De Wet Potgieter interviewed Keith Maxwell about the activities of the South African Institute of Maritime Research (SAIMR) whose letterhead depicts the figurehead on the prow of the Cutty Sark. In the interview he refers toSAIMRas being founded 184 years earlier.
