After Continual Trashing of Senate Audit – Republican Led Committee STRIPS Democrat Katie Hobbs from Hearing any Audit-Related Lawsuits until 2023

After publicly expressing “grave concerns” over Arizona’s audit of the 2020 election results, and after her continual bashing of the Senate “fraudit” of Maricopa County ballots, Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D) was “stripped” of her ability to “defend election lawsuits” by the state’s Republican-led House Appropriations Committee on Tuesday.

The responsibility was transferred “exclusively” to Attorney General Mark Brnovich (R) through the end of the 2023 fiscal year.

Democrats say the move is retaliation against Hobbs’ defense of Arizona voters in “lawsuits filed by the State Republican Party and others challenging Arizona’s election results,” per ABC 15. “It can’t be just a coincidence” that Republicans are blocking a “vocal critic of the audit,” writes Elvia Díaz for azcentral.com. Democratic State Rep. Randy Friese reportedly called the move “troubling,” “disturbing,” and “quite nefarious.”

Furthermore, the Appropriations Committee removed Hobb’s “oversight of the Capitol Museum,” ABC 15 reports, after Hobbs angered state lawmakers when she “flew a gay pride flag from the building’s balcony” in 2019.

Sen. Paul: Fauci Committed Perjury over Gain of Function Comments Related to Wuhan Lab

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) claimed Dr. Anthony Fauci committed perjury over his gain of function comments related to Communist China’s Wuhan lab.

Paul was asked on Real America’s Voice’s The Water Cooler show, “do you believe he [Fauci] perjured himself?”

“Absolutely, he lied to the America people. There was gain of function research going on with Dr. Shi Zhengli at the Wuhan Institute,” Fauci explained.

In her paper, she actually thanked Dr. Fauci and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which is a part of National Institutes of Health (NIH) that Dr. Fauci runs,” Paul continued.

“It’s listed at the end of the paper. This paper was fined by NIAID research and it lists a ten digit number that identifies the research money she got from from the United States. Was it gain of function?” Paul asked.

“Well it took a SARS virus, which is a coronavirus, that’s 15 times more deadly than COVID, and it added to it S protein, which is something in the surface of it, to make it more easily infectious to epithelial cells for the respiratory tract. That to me is gain of function,” he said.

Paul went on to highlight two scientists, one from Rutgers University and another from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who confirmed the paper studies gain of function.

The allegation of perjury comes after Paul questioned Fauci on May 12, “Dr. Fauci, do you still support funding of the NIH funding of the lab in Wuhan?”

“Senator Paul, with all due respect, you are entirely, entirely, and completely incorrect,” a frustrated Fauci responded. “The NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain of function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”

Maxine Waters: Republicans ‘Don’t Seem to Care’ About Rogue Cops Targeting People of Color

Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) said on Spectrum’s “News 1 Los Angeles” that Republicans didn’t seem to care about “rogue cops” who she alleged targeted people of color.

Waters said, “We have the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act that’s on the Senate side, and it is stalled. The negotiators are working to try and work out some kind of way the act will not be compromised. They haven’t gotten to the point they can agree on it yet.”

She continued, “There’s one issue as you know that is middle of the controversy, and that is qualified immunity. So I’m just hopeful our negotiators will be strong, and they will continue to try and make sure we have a good, sound piece of legislation would really benefit all of our communities and particularly our communities that have been so harmed by rogue cops who have basically targeted people of color and cause them to be harmed and their lives to be lost.”

Waters added, “What you have is a typical disagreement between Democrats and Republicans and how we view our responsibilities to all of the people. On one hand, the Republicans have law enforcement no matter what they do. They are the ones who support the police unions. Who basically support all of the police no matter what harm they cause. This is typical of the Republicans in the way that they don’t seem to care as much. They don’t seem to think police should be held accountable — that somehow, they should be able to do whatever they want to do. They join in ways in which to protect them. Philosophically we are on different ends on what we need to rein in rogue cops and what we need to do for police accountability.”
