Prone man at George Floyd memorial shooting

In the news crew footage at the above webpage, you can see a man lying on the ground in front of the memorial. He is holding something in front of him. I think it is a mobile phone. When the shots ring out and people start running in the background, the prone guy crawls forward closer to the memorial, then at about the 14 or 15 second mark in the videoclip he jerks and then stops moving. Is he pretending to be shot? I don't think he was shot, because a bloke walking past him takes no notice of him, and later I think I see his phone move in his hand. Is he pretending to be dead? Is he playing some game for the news crew camera?

He was looking in the direction that three blokes came running fast from, so maybe he could actually see the shooting.
