AZ Audit Director Ken Bennett: “We haven’t received ANYTHING from them – Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Refuses to Cooperate and Answer AZ Senate”

On Tuesday afternoon, The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson had a chance to speak with Arizona Audit Director Ken Bennett about the ongoing America’s Audit. This was the second day of counting after the 9-day break that was scheduled for high school graduation ceremonies in Phoenix.

The tech team WAKE TSI is no longer involved in this process and their responsibilities will transfer to StratTech, a subcontractor that has been helping with technology and involved in training since day one. StratTech is now facilitating the counting under Cyber Ninjas, as WAKE finished their contract and chose not to continue past May 14th.

Staffing for the audit is moving up every day and the Senate Audit team trained over 300 new people last week. On Tuesday, they had 29-30 counting tables fully staffed and they have a few more tables to fill in to have the 45 tables filled. They are currently discussing opening a 3rd counting shift each day.

The most recent ballot count is 660,000 ballots completed as of May 14th, and their goal is to finish counting the ballots by June 30.

Conradson asked Bennett for updates on the MCBOS’s and Katie Hobbs’ attempts to stop this process.

Conradson: How is the audit going?

Bennett: We started back up yesterday and everything is running very smoothly. We have the most counting tables filled that we’ve had since we began and they are increasing every day. More and more volunteers and staff are coming in, so we’re pleased.

Conradson: In regards to your response to the MCBOS on the 18th, have you gotten an answer from the county regarding issues with duplicate ballots and corresponding originals?

Bennett: No we haven’t heard anything from them yet, but we’re putting together a specific email to ask them some of those questions. They didn’t want to come to the hearing at The Senate and they had their own little hearing the day before. So, we didn’t get many of the answers we would have like to have gotten but we are getting ready to contact them to get whatever they’re willing to give us.

Conradson: How about the chain of custody documentation from November to April, any word on that?

Bennett: We still have not received anything about that, no.

Rand Paul: Well, sure it’s a lot. And there are some reports that it added up to millions over time. But the other thing he said was that there was no gain of function in the application. There are scientists who looked at the application and who absolutely and categorically disagree with him. They say the application did include gain of function. The other evidence that we have is Dr. Shi from the Wuhan lab published a paper that is clearly about gain of function and it that she thanks her group and Dr. Fauci for funding that paper. So there are a lot of contradictions going on. The bottom line, he cannot investigate himself. If he was responsible for giving this money. What Are They Hiding? Biden Administration Shuts Down Trump Administration’s Investigation Into the Origins of the China Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Biden Administration cannot allow the truth to be shared, whether it’s about the 2020 Elections or about the origins of the China coronavirus (COVID-19).

President Joe Biden’s administration shut down a State Department inquiry into whether the coronavirus could have spread out of a lab where the Chinese government was studying coronaviruses, CNN reported Tuesday.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reportedly started the inquiry in late fall of 2020, seeking to establish whether the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had been using a lab in Wuhan to research COVID-19 and diseases like it, CNN reported. Biden’s administration reportedly cut off the inquiry this spring after questioning the legitimacy of the research and ultimately concluding it was a poor use of resources, the outlet reported.

Critics within the state department argued those conducting the inquiry were suspect due to their emphasis on secrecy, according to several unnamed sources cited by CNN.

Secretary of State under the Trump Administration, Mike Pompeo, opined on Twitter his thoughts of Biden shutting down the investigation into the origins of COVID-19.

Jeffrey Epstein's Alleged Co-Conspirators To Testify Against Ghislaine Maxwell: Court Filing

Several of Jeffrey Epstein's alleged co-conspirators, including recruiters, sexual partners and friends are set to drop the dime on Ghislaine Maxwell at her trial later this year, according to recent court filings analyzed by the Daily Mail.

Prosecutors announced in the filing that materials presented at trial will include 'any co-conspirator statements,' which the Mail says is a "major sign that one of Epstein's inner circle has turned state's witness." What's more, they agreed to turn over 'the identity of any unindicted co-conspirator' nine weeks before the trial, which is set to begin in November.

Meanwhile, Maxwell admitted in a filing seeking to dismiss the case that one accuser was "encouraged to recruit other females to provide massages to Epstein."

The filings strongly indicate that some of the four women who were named as potential 'co-conspirators' under Epstein's sweetheart plea deal in 2008, under which he served just 15 months in jail for having sex with children, could face off against Maxwell in court.

The women in question have been accused of being Epstein's 'recruiters, groomers, sexual partners and friends' and have almost always pleaded the fifth amendment when questioned during depositions.

They are Sarah Kellen, 40, who is accused of having a rolodex of women she would call up for massages at Epstein's mansion in Palm Beach, Florida.

Lesley Groff, 53, is said to have been Epstein's executive assistant for 20 years and said in a 2005 interview that she had such a tight bond with him 'I know what he is thinking'.

Nadia Marcinko, 35, is alleged to have taken part in sexual encounters with underage girls and has been described as Epstein's on-off girlfriend.

In a late Friday night court filing, prosecutors and Maxwell's defense submitted their own preferred timetables and logistics for the trial. According to prosecutors, materials during the trial "will include testifying witness statements, which themselves will also include any co-conspirator statements about which witnesses may testify at trial."

Prosecutors "only intend to introduce co-conspirator statements either through the testimony of witnesses or in the exhibits, which will be marked before trial," and will include documentary statements about co-conspirators "e.g., emails between Epstein and any number of thousands of persons," per the filing.

Alaska Volcano Eruption Sparks "Red Alert"

Alaska's Great Sitkin volcano erupted on Wednesday, prompting the United States Geological Survey (USGS) to issue a "red alert" for the surrounding area as a column of ash spewed thousands of feet into the atmosphere.

The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) said the volcano erupted around 21:04 AKDT (5:04 UTC 26 May), resulting in an ash cloud up to 15,000 feet above sea level.

"Since that explosion, seismicity has decreased and satellite images show that the ash cloud has detached from the vent and is moving towards the east. Additional explosions are possible and the Aviation Color Code remains at RED and the Volcano Alert Level at WARNING," AVO said.

Fire UK health secretary for ‘lying to everybody’ during pandemic – PM’s ex-chief adviser

The UK prime minister’s former chief adviser, Dominic Cummings, has issued a scathing indictment of the government’s Covid-19 response, saying the health secretary should have been sacked for ‘lying to everybody’.

Speaking to a joint inquiry of the Health and Social Care Committee and Science and Technology Committee, Cummings lambasted Health Secretary Matt Hancock for lying on “multiple occasions” during the pandemic, and exposed a list of “failures” by the government.

Citing “at least 15 to 20 things”, Cummings said the health secretary had misled the public and his fellow Cabinet members about the scale of the impending pandemic and the government’s plan of action to deal with it, and fell short of what the “public expects during a crisis like this”.

There’s no doubt at all that many senior people performed far, far – disastrously – below the standards which the country expects.

The former adviser, who was seen as one of Johnson’s closest confidants during his tenure, gave a scathing indictment of the government’s failure to effectively fight Covid-19. Criticising its slow response, Cummings claimed officials failed to move to a “war footing” sufficiently early, as Cabinet ministers, including the prime minister, took time off for a holiday during February 2020.

The government has rejected the criticism, arguing that its priority has always been to follow the scientific guidance in order to protect the public and save lives.

The comments come months after Cummings left his position as the prime minister’s chief adviser following reports of internal disputes between parliamentary factions.

In recent weeks, Cummings has used Twitter to publicly attack Johnson, raising concerns both about the PM’s “competence and integrity” in managing Covid-19 and the issue of who paid for the extensive renovations to his Downing Street flat.

Amazon has acquired MGM Studios – the outfit behind the James Bond franchise – for a whopping $8.45 billion. The deal is Amazon’s second-biggest acquisition ever, but comes amid multiple antitrust investigations into the firm.

The deal, rumored to have been in the works since late last year, was announced by Amazon on Wednesday.

With more than 4,000 films – including the James Bond franchise, ‘Rocky’, and ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ – acquiring MGM’s back catalog is a major boost for Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service. The fact that cable network Epix, which has exclusive rights to screen Paramount titles once they finish up in theaters, came bundled with the purchase, likely sweetened the deal.

Owning the small screen rights to upcoming Paramount titles like ‘Mission Impossible 7’ could give Amazon the edge over streaming competitors like Netflix, Disney+ and Hulu.

At $8.45 billion, the deal is Amazon’s second-largest acquisition to date, behind its 2017 purchase of Whole Foods for $13.7 billion. Way behind in third place was its 2009 purchase of Zappos, a shoe retailer, for $1.2 billion.

Fauci defends NIH funding of bat coronavirus research in China: It would have been ‘dereliction of our duty’ not to

President Biden's chief medical adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci, defended the National Institutes of Health's controversial funding of bat coronavirus research in Wuhan, China, on Tuesday, claiming that it would have been "almost a dereliction of duty" not to assist Chinese researchers in studying the pathogens.

Fauci, who also serves as the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, an agency under the NIH umbrella, acknowledged to lawmakers during a House Appropriations subcommittee that the U.S. engaged in "a modest collaboration with very respectable Chinese scientists who were world experts on coronavirus."

The public health expert vehemently denied that any of the funding went toward risky "gain-of-function" research, which deliberately enhances pathogens, making them more transmissible or pathogenic, in order to predict which could be especially dangerous to the human population.

"That categorically was not done," he claimed.

The NIH has been under intense scrutiny of late for its decision, with NIAID's backing, to approve granting more than $7 million in American taxpayer money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology between 2014 and 2020, with at least $600,000 earmarked for the study of bat coronaviruses like the one that spawned the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite Fauci's insistence that none of the funding was intended to support gain-of-function research, earlier in the hearing, according to the Washington Examiner, NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins offered a more murky explanation.

Collins explained to Republican Rep. Andy Harris (Md.) that researchers at the Wuhan lab "were not approved by NIH for doing gain-of-function research" but added "we are, of course, not aware of other sources of funds or other activities they might have undertaken outside of what our approved grant allowed."

Harris assessed based on Collins' answer that "we could have sent money through EcoHealth Alliance. [Then] money could have ended up at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which might be doing gain-of-function research," noting that grant money is "somewhat fungible."

The situation is made worse by the fact that U.S. diplomats reportedly warned in 2018 that risky coronavirus research was taking place at the WIV in spite of the lab's "serious shortage of appropriately trained technicians and investigators."

Moreover, it appears at this point that the $600,000 grant sent through EcoHealth Alliance to the WIV — which Fauci characterized as "modest" — was not transferred to an independent review board specifically set up to evaluate whether grants that fund research on dangerous pathogens are worth the risk.

New Hampshire Auditor Says Audit Has Revealed No ‘Widespread Fraud’

One of the election auditors Windham, New Hampshire, said that their review has not found any evidence of “widespread fraud.”

“The original count, the recount, nothing has ever been changing who gets elected,” said Harri Hursti, one member of the three-person team involved in the audit, according to an interview with CNN. “This is an exercise of finding what caused the error, but the four winners have all, from day one, remained to be the same four winners. This has never threatened that. And, again, if there would have been a widespread fraud, which would have been uncovered [in] this, it would have come out. There was none.”

The audit is not focused on the Nov. 3 presidential election but is examining votes for several seats in a local legislative election. A Democratic candidate, Kristi St. Laurent, requested a recount, which was granted because she lost by only 24 votes.

Hursti and the other auditors have suggested that folds in ballots may have caused a discrepancy in the vote count. During a hand recount, it was revealed that St. Laurent didn’t lose by 24 votes but instead, GOP candidates had actually received 300 additional votes, while she lost 99 votes.

The auditors have speculated that folds in ballots could be to blame for discrepancies.

“If someone voted for all four Republican candidates and the ballot happened to have its fold line going through St. Laurent’s target, then that might be interpreted by the machines as an overvote, which would then subtract votes from each of those four Republican candidates,” said Philip Stark, another member audit team, told WMUR-TV in mid-May. “Conversely, if there were not four votes already in that contest by the voter, a fold line through that target could have caused the machine to interpret it as a vote for St. Laurent.”

Elaborating on the vote totals, the auditors tweeted earlier this week that one machine at a school showed that only 28 percent of 75 votes for each Republican candidate were actually counted.

St. Laurent, meanwhile, also noted that that the fold line on the ballot appeared to go through her name the most often.

“Wherever the fold happened to be was, I guess, most commonly through my name,” she told WMUR-TV.

Former President Donald Trump weighed in on the audit efforts.

“The spirit for transparency and justice is being displayed all over the Country by media outlets which do not represent Fake News,” he wrote in a statement on May 6. The former president also praised the audit being conducted in Maricopa County, Arizona, of last year’s presidential election.

How Zuckerberg Millions Paid for Progressives to Work With 2020 Vote Officials Nationwide

In the months leading up to November’s election, voting officials in major cities and counties worked with a progressive group funded by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and its allies to create ballots, strategically target voters and develop “cure” letters in situations where mail-in ballots were in danger of being tossed out.

The Center for Tech and Civic Life, or CTCL, provided millions of dollars in private funding for the elections that came from a $350 million donation from Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan. The CTCL gave “COVID-19 response” grants of varying amounts to 2,500 municipalities in 49 states.

In exchange for the money, elections divisions agreed to conduct their elections according to conditions set out by the CTCL, which is led by former members of the New Organizing Institute, a training center for progressive groups and Democratic campaigns.

A CTCL partner, the Center for Civic Design, helped design absentee ballot forms and instructions, crafted voter registration letters for felons and tested automatic voter registration systems in several states, working alongside progressive activist groups in Michigan and directly with elections offices in Georgia and Utah.

Still other groups with a progressive leaning, including the Main Street Alliance, The Elections Group and the National Vote at Home Institute, provided support for some elections offices.

Biden ATF Nominee Who Defends Waco Massacre Bashed Alabama, Trump Voters, And Christians In One Tweet

David Chipman is expected to be confirmed by the Senate today.

A new tweet has surfaced showing David Chipman, the former Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agent who defended the federal government’s massacre at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas who was tapped by the Biden administration to run the ATF bashing the state of Alabama, Americans who voted for President Donald Trump, and Christians in only 13 words.

The recently resurfaced tweet, posted on August 20, 2015, features Chipman mocking a woman holding a sign that reads “Thank you Lord Jesus, President Trump” while smiling at the then-presidential candidate. The photo was taken at one of President Trump’s early rallies in Alabama. “Alabama. Only 9 electoral votes. Now that deserves a Thank You Lord Jesus,” wrote Chipman.

The BidenNoms Twitter account, which is “Conducting non-partisan research and fact-checking into the Executive Branch of Government” sponsored by the American Accountability Foundation, resurfaced the tweet. “Mocking Christians and smearing southerners. Shameful,” tweeted the account. “America deserves a leader for all Americans not @davidchipman an Acela-corridor liberal looking dow his nose at Alabamians and the south.”

In a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” thread, Chipman previously defended the ATF’s massacre of women and children during the Branch Davidian standoff by falsely asserting that the Branch Davidians shot down an ATF helicopter. National File reported:

After repeatedly bringing up .50 caliber rifles, which are barely used to commit crimes in the United States, Chipman claimed that at the Waco massacre in 1993, where the actions of ATF agents led to the deaths of 82 men, women, and children, “cult members used 2 .50 caliber Barretts to shoot down two Texas Air National Guard helicopters.”

However, this simply wasn’t true. As the Daily Caller noted, “while the Branch Davidians did reportedly shoot at and damage a trio of helicopters that were flown over their compound, none were shot down, and no federal agents were injured.” A House report from 1996 reads that the helicopters “sustained damage from weapons fire, [but] none of the National Guard crews or ATF aboard were injured.”

In the thread, Chipman called for many restrictions on firearms, including arguing that “all gun sales should be limited to licensed gun stores where a background check and paperwork is required,” and that there should be a ban on production on sales of all assault rifles. This is despite the fact that he admitted carrying a concealed firearm sometimes in public.

Both The Washington Post and The New York Times accept Chipman to sail through the confirmation process to become the permanent head of the ATF, which the Post seems to gleefully editorialize is an “agency conservatives hate.” A total of 69 House Republicans sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) opposing the nomination. Chipman is set to be confirmed today.

President Trump, Don Jr. Respond To Democrats’ Lawsuit Against Them Over January 6

President Trump's lawyers highlight Democrats' rhetoric "which encouraged" the man who shot Rep. Steve Scalise in 2017.

President Donald Trump has officially filed a response to a lawsuit about the “Stop The Steal” demonstration planned by President Trump and his supporters on January 6, 2021. At the same time, President Trump and Donald Trump Jr. filed a motion to dismiss in a largely redundant and nearly identical lawsuit brought against them by Rep. Eric Swalwell. The Trump family’s motion to dismiss is similar to that filed by Rep. Mo Brooks and Rudy Giulaini last week.

In both lawsuits, the motions to dismiss contest that the Members of Congress lack standing to sue on behalf of Congress. President Trump also argues that everything he did or said was protected under the First Amendment as free speech and the right to petition the government. President Trump’s attorney argues in depth that passionate political speech does not create liability. “In essence, Mr. Swalwell argues that speakers should be vicariously liable for the acts of the listeners. Indeed, he might wonder if he would be liable because of his and his Democratic colleagues’ rhetoric which encouraged left-wing activist James Hodgkinson to shoot Capitol Police Officer Crystal Griner, Congressman Steve Scalise, and others in June 2017,” the filing reads.

President Trump’s attorney argues that there are well-established constitutional standards for incitement, and President Trump’s statements do not qualify as incitement. “Speech only loses its First Amendment protection when there is an incitement to imminent lawless action, rather than mere advocacy,” President Trump’s attorney, Jesse Binnall writes, adding, “Moreover, to hold that Mr. Trump’s statements would make him civilly liable would turn district courts into arbiters of political speech.” Furthermore, Binnall argues that the Plaintiffs’ approach would be a fundamental change to 42 U.S.C. § 1985, the civil rights law in question. Binnall explains that the allegations show at most a conspiracy to petition government officials to act (as they should act), not a conspiracy to commit any violent act.

Congressman Bennie Thompson (D-MD) sued President Trump, Guiliani, the Proud Boys International LLC, and the Oath Keepers for a conspiracy to incite a violent insurrection. The lawsuit mirrors the Democrats’ accusations against conservatives, President Trump, and Trump supporters since January 6. The lawsuit largely contains the same themes as Democrats’ calls for a 9/11 style commission to investigate the mostly-peaceful protests that included a few acts of violence. Both lawsuits appear to be a means for pushing narratives central to the Democrat agenda and re-election campaign for 2022.

Virginia attorney and National File contributor Jonathon Moseley points out: “Curiously, the Plaintiffs only sue in their individual capacities, and sue the Defendants only in their individual capacities. Yet they do not allege any personal injuries, not even apprehension, although Swalwell did in his companion suit. Instead, their complaint is ‘delay of Congress’ – that the demonstrators, all of them everywhere, stopped the Congress from counting Electoral College votes for a few hours. They are quite proud that the Congress did actually complete its meeting, but in legal terms complain that the session was postponed.”

Cotton on John Cena China Apology: ‘Hollywood Is Deep in China’s Pocket’ — ‘Very Disappointing’

During a Wednesday appearance on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) weighed in on actor and WWE superstar John Cena apologizing in Mandarin for calling Taiwan a country while promoting his upcoming film “F9.”

Cotton said Cena’s apology goes to show that “Hollywood is deep in China’s pocket.” He added China’s influence is “almost everywhere in society.”

“It’s very disappointing,” Cotton lamented. “It’s just one more example of how the China lobby in American society continues to try to lobby for China’s interests against America’s interests. You know, Hollywood is deep in China’s pocket. When was the last time you saw a Chinese bad guy in a movie, unlike, say, the Soviets? That’s because Hollywood wants access to the Chinese market and to Chinese money.”

Five Men Arrested in Connection to Shooting of Black Lives Matter’s Sasha Johnson

Five arrests have been made in connection to the shooting of Black Lives Matter activist Sasha Johnson, who was shot in the head in the early hours of Sunday morning in South London.

The Metropolitan Police revealed on Wednesday that officers from the Violence Suppression Unit made the arrest of a 17-year-old man on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and the possession with the intent to supply class A drugs in Lambeth at around 3:50 pm on Tuesday.

Following the arrest, officers were then led to an address in Peckham where three men, aged 18, 19, and 28-years-old were arrested on suspicion of affray and possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

Finally, a fifth man, aged 25, was arrested on Tuesday evening following a police chase in Peckham. He was arrested on suspicion of affray and for failing to stop for the police.

The five suspects were all then charged on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently being held in police custody.

In a statement, The Met said that the five men are being held in connection to the shooting of BLM activist Sasha Johnson who suffered a gunshot wound to the head during an altercation at a house party at around 3 am on Sunday morning.

Sasha Johnson is still in a South London hospital where she remains in critical condition.

The U.S. Must Stop Being an Apologist for the Netanyahu Government

" NYT"- “Israel has the right to defend itself.”

These are the words we hear from both Democratic and Republican administrations whenever the government of Israel, with its enormous military power, responds to rocket attacks from Gaza.

Let’s be clear. No one is arguing that Israel, or any government, does not have the right to self-defense or to protect its people. So why are these words repeated year after year, war after war? And why is the question almost never asked: “What are the rights of the Palestinian people?”

And why do we seem to take notice of the violence in Israel and Palestine only when rockets are falling on Israel?

In this moment of crisis, the United States should be urging an immediate cease-fire. We should also understand that, while Hamas firing rockets into Israeli communities is absolutely unacceptable, today’s conflict did not begin with those rockets.

Palestinian families in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah have been living under the threat of eviction for many years, navigating a legal system designed to facilitate their forced displacement. And over the past weeks, extremist settlers have intensified their efforts to evict them.

And, tragically, those evictions are just one part of a broader system of political and economic oppression. For years we have seen a deepening Israeli occupation in the West Bank and East Jerusalem and a continuing blockade on Gaza that make life increasingly intolerable for Palestinians. In Gaza, which has about two million inhabitants, 70 percent of young people are unemployed and have little hope for the future.

Further, we have seen Benjamin Netanyahu’s government work to marginalize and demonize Palestinian citizens of Israel, pursue settlement policies designed to foreclose the possibility of a two-state solution and pass laws that entrench systemic inequality between Jewish and Palestinian citizens of Israel.

None of this excuses the attacks by Hamas, which were an attempt to exploit the unrest in Jerusalem, or the failures of the corrupt and ineffective Palestinian Authority, which recently postponed long-overdue elections. But the fact of the matter is that Israel remains the one sovereign authority in the land of Israel and Palestine, and rather than preparing for peace and justice, it has been entrenching its unequal and undemocratic control.

COMPROMISED: Harvard subjects students to trips, research papers authored by Chinese Communist Party propaganda front.

The Harvard Kennedy School – a public policy-focused graduate school – has collaborated extensively with various propaganda arms of the Chinese Communist Party seeking to influence Western organizations to “adopt positions supportive of Beijing’s preferred policies.”

One of America’s premier institutions, the Harvard Kennedy School, has partnered with the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) on studies and research reports for over a decade.

CUSEF’s Founding Chairman doubles as the leader of the “highest-ranking entity overseeing” the Chinese Communist Party’s United Work Front, which according to the U.S.-China Security and Economic Review Commission, seeks to “co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of its ruling Chinese Communist Party” and “influence overseas Chinese communities, foreign governments, and other actors to take actions or adopt positions supportive of Beijing’s preferred policies.”

It has set out to “effectively disseminate positive messages to the media, key influencers and opinion leaders, and the general public” regarding the Chinese Communist Party, according to Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) filings with the Department of Justice.

A summary of the partnership on CUSEF’s website reveals the Chinese Communist Party-linked organization partnered with the university on trips to China.

Delegations, comprised of 18 Harvard Kennedy School graduate students, spend 10 days on an annual “study trek to China. A summary reads:

In addition to meeting with Chinese Communist Party officials and state-run think tanks, schools, and influence groups, delegation members reveal they’ve also toured Huawei facilities.

CUSEF brochures contain pictures of the delegation, showing students being lectured by professors at state-run Peking University and by a former Major General of the People’s Liberation Army.

Walmart has apologized after a racist email saying 'Welcome to Walmart, N*' was sent to hundreds of customers on the one-year anniversary of George Floyd's murder.

People in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom reported waking up Tuesday to see they'd received the offensive email from the company's official help@walmart.com email address.

Many posted screenshots to social media and expressed their fury at the company.

In a statement, Walmart said it was 'shocked and appalled' and blamed an 'external bad actor'.

The company said someone had created fake Walmart accounts using the email addresses possibly obtained after a previous data breach, and changed their first names to a racial slur.

Walmart said it had blocked emails containing a racial slur from being sent from its domain.

Reuters reported the company was unsure how many emails had been out, but its systems were not hacked and no customer information had been compromised.

A woman said she had called the retail giant to complain and the customer service rep had asked her to read the email back to her over the phone.

'Spoke to a 'Supervisor' at Walmart who asked me to read what the email says. I proceed to read 'Welcome to Walmart, N*' along with everything else.. she said it sounds like it's just an advertisement. Excuse me ma'am do you not know what 'N***' mean..ugh.'

Another woman from Scotland tweeted how she had also received the email.

'Walmart I received a very disturbing email from you this am. Please DM me so I can share said email,' the person wrote.

Janey Whiteside, Walmart's chief customer officer, apologized to everyone who had received the offensive email.

'We are very sorry that you received an offensive and unacceptable email,' she wrote.

'We are working to update the account sign-up process to ensure that something like this doesn't happen again.'

Whiteside said all of the fake accounts would be deleted.

'Again, we know the email sent was appalling and strongly believe those words should never be used,' she said.

'We're looking into all available means to hold those responsible accountable.'

A security expert said the email addresses had probably been acquired after a previous unrelated data breach.

Vikram Thakur, technical director at Symantec, told CNN Business the bad actors had probably acquired email addresses from an 'easily and freely available 'dump' from a historical third party data dump.

In December, Walmart apologized for using its official Twitter account to troll Missouri GOP Senator Josh Hawley.

After Hawley said he would challenge the Electoral College vote counts on January 6, Walmart's Twitter account wrote: 'Go ahead. Get your two-hour debate.'

The tweet, which was later deleted, ended with the hashtag #soreloser

Hawley hit back at the Arkansas-based retailer, slamming it for its 'insulting condescension'.

'Now that you’ve insulted 75 million Americans, will you at least apologize for using slave labor?’ the US senator wrote.

Walmart said that original tweet was 'mistakenly posted by a member of our social media team'.

31 arrested in Ohio child sex sting

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley announced arrests in a child porn sting Wednesday.

Operation Déjà vu involves members of the Internet Crimes against Children, Newburgh Heights police and the Cuyahoga County sheriff.

Ages of those arrested range from 20 to 80

The operation lasted four days

All of those involved were attempting to meet children for sex, according to Prosecutor O’Malley

The suspects used popular social media to send inappropriate photos to who they believed were minor children

All of the suspects made arrangements to travel to Cuyahoga County to meet the minors for sexual contact when they were arrested

Evidence includes 33 cell phones, drugs, alcohol, lube, condoms, and vehicles

All of the offenders were arrested at a house set up by law enforcement

The suspects were also captured on video entering the home

The suspects would have to register for 25 years as a sex offender on conviction

Three men arrested as part of investigation into historic child sexual abuse in Bury

The offences are believed to have taken place between 1996 and 1999 and concern girls aged between 13 and 16

Three men have been arrested by detectives investigating historic child sexual exploitation in Bury.

A 48-year-old man and two men, aged 49, were arrested at separate addresses in the borough this morning (Wednesday, May 26).

They have been detained in custody and are being interviewed by detectives on suspicion of child sex offences.

The offences are believed to have taken place between 1996 and 1999 and concern girls aged between 13 and 16.

Police say the victims are receiving regular support from specialist officers and partner agencies.

One of the arrests was made at a property in Manchester Road, in Bury, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.

Eyewitnesses spotted a large police presence outside an address, close to the junction with Olivant Street, at about 7am.

Detective Inspector Ian Partington, of GMP Bury's Complex Safeguarding Hub, said: "This morning's activity is the latest stage of our investigation into reports of non-recent child sexual exploitation made to us in 2018.

Up to 850,000 people in UK pose sexual threat to children, says NCA

Up to 850,000 people in the UK pose a sexual threat to children, according to the latest estimates published by the National Crime Agency (NCA).

Law enforcement officials have used a new method to calculate the size of the hidden population of offenders, and estimate it to be between 550,000 and 850,000.

This includes paedophiles who download images of child abuse, as well as those involved in direct physical abuse.

The new calculation method means the number is far higher than previous estimates, which focused on the number of registered sex offenders and those using sites on the dark web to look at images of child abuse, put at a minimum of 300,000 people.

In its annual National Strategic Assessment, the NCA said plans to introduce end-to-end encryption for Facebook messages may hamper its ability to catch paedophiles.

In one case, prolific offender David Wilson, a labourer from King’s Lynn, Norfolk, used fake identities on social media to pose as teenage girls and groom and blackmail boys to send him abuse images.

Information from Facebook and thousands of messages were key to his successful prosecution for 96 sexual offences against 51 boys aged four to 14, for which he was jailed for 25 years.

The NCA assessment said: “Information from Facebook and evidential material containing over 250,000 messages was crucial to Wilson facing justice.

“However, plans for end-to-end encryption will prevent access to message content and likely mean other offenders like Wilson will go undetected.”

NCA Director General Lynne Owens called on social media companies to shut down all avenues for criminals to use their platforms.

She said: “While the NCA will continue to lead the fight to cut serious and organised crime, it is imperative that technology and social media companies match this intensity, building in safety by design and closing down all avenues for offenders to exploit their platforms.

“In particular, we must move to a place of zero tolerance for the presence of such material online in order to raise the bar to offending and, most importantly, protect children.”

Child abuse is one type of crime believed to be on the increase, according to the NCA, exacerbated by the increase in online activity due to lockdowns amid the pandemic.

Susie Hargreaves OBE, chief executive of the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), the UK-based charity responsible for finding and removing child sexual abuse material from the internet, said offenders have been taking advantage of the number of children online to abuse youngsters in their own homes.

Ms Hargreaves said: “These figures are truly staggering. As part of the UK Safer Internet Centre, the IWF works tirelessly to prevent harm from coming to children, but we must all be alive to the alarming scale of the threat online.”

Referring to the mid-point of the estimated number of offenders, Andy Burrows, head of child safety online policy at the NSPCC, said: “This assessment underlines that the scale and complexity of child abuse has never been greater, with 700,000 adults across the UK likely to pose a sexual threat to children.
