Biden Panics After CNN Reveals He Canceled COVID Origins Investigation, Orders 90-Day Report From US Intel Agencies

Update (1522ET): Less than 24 hours after CNN threw Biden under the bus for canceling a State Department effort launched under Trump to get to the bottom of the origins of COVID-19, the Biden administration has backpedaled - and has ordered the US intelligence community to conduct a 90-day investigation into how the pandemic began.

In a statement via the White House website, the Biden administration claims that officials have been pursuing various possibilities - including "whether it emerged from human contact with an infected animal or from a laboratory accident," it's clear that the administration is in full damage control mode.

"I have now asked the Intelligence Community to redouble their efforts to collect and analyze information that could bring us closer to a definitive conclusion, and to report back to me in 90 days," said Biden in the announcement.

The Biden administration pulled the plug on a Trump-era State Department investigation into whether COVID-19 originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China, according to a Tuesday evening report by CNN.

The effort, led by then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, also sought to determine whether China's biological weapons program may have played a role in the pandemic. According to the report, it was met with internal opposition from officials who thought it was simply a politicized witch hunt to blame China for the virus.

According to three unnamed sources, when Biden was briefed on the investigations' findings in February and March, he pulled the plug - and instead opted to trust the findings of the World Health Organization, which conducted an 'investigation' earlier this year which turned out to be nothing more than political theater, the cast of which included the highly conflicted Peter Daszak, the Fauci-funded virologist who was studying bat viruses at the Wuhan lab.

"The way they did their work was suspicious as hell," said one former State Department official who (we're guessing was rooting for team Schiff during Trump's impeachment).

Pompeo, meanwhile, said in May 2020 that there was "enormous evidence" and a "significant amount of evidence" to support the lab-escape theory. And according to former senior State Department official David Feith, "People in the US government were working on the question of where Covid-19 came from but there was no other effort that we knew of that took the lab leak possibility seriously enough to focus on digging into certain aspects, questions and uncertainties."

The revelation that Biden shut down the inquiry is awkward at best, after the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday that three researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology were so sick in November of 2019 that they sought hospitalization, citing the intelligence report that Biden rejected.

Operation Deja Vu: Cuyahoga County authorities announce 31 arrests in child sex crime investigation

The operation was conducted from May 19-22, which resulted in suspects from five different counties ranging in age from 20 to 80.

CLEVELAND — Authorities announced details Wednesday of "Operation Deja Vu," which resulted in 31 arrests from May 19-22 with suspects ranging in age from 20 to 80.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O'Malley says the suspects came from five different counties "in an attempt to engage in sexual activities with minors."

David Frattare, Ohio ICAC Task Force Commander, says the suspects were involved in sexually explicit online conversations with people they believed were under the age of 16.

"These individuals initiated these conversations through a number of popular social media applications that children are known to use," Frattare said during a press conference Wednesday. "They then expressed an interest in engaging in sexually explicit activity with these children, a number of whom then sent or disseminated images of their genitals to what they believed were these minor children.”

Authorities also shared multiple videos from the operation in which suspects were arrested, which you can watch in the video at the bottom of this story.

The charges from "Operation Deja Vu" were listed as follows:

31 suspects charged with attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, importuning and possessing criminal tools.

4 suspects charged with compelling prostitution.

2 suspects charged with disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

1 suspect charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

1 suspect charged with failure to comply.

These charges will be presented to a Cuyahoga County Grand Jury.

Report: Then-VP Joe Biden Met with Hunter Biden’s Foreign Business Associates

A report in the New York Post Wednesday appears to confirm reporting by Breitbart News last October that then-Vice President Joe Biden met his son Hunter’s business associates from Kazakhstan at Café Milano in Washington, DC, despite earlier denials.

In August 2019, on the campaign trail in South Carolina, Biden told reporters: “I have never discussed, with my son or my brother or with anyone else, anything having to do with their businesses. Period.”

The new Post report casts further doubt on that claim.

In October 2020, Breitbart News revealed a photograph showing Vice President Biden and Hunter Biden with oligarch Kenes Rakishev of Kazakhstan, who had explored business ventures with the younger Biden.

As Breitbart News reported: “The photograph of the Bidens with Rakishev and [Kazakhstan’s former prime minister, Karim] Massimov appears to have been taken at Café Milano in Washington, D.C. The iconic restaurant’s logo appears on the drapes in the background (backwards in the photo). The date of the photograph is unknown.”

The Post report notes:

Joe Biden met with Ukrainian, Russian and Kazakhstani business associates of his son’s at a dinner in Washington, DC, while he was vice president, records on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop show.

The dinner, on April 16, 2015, was held in the private “Garden Room” at Café Milano, a Georgetown institution whose catchphrase is: “Where the world’s most powerful people go.”

It is not clear whether that dinner meeting was the same one reported by Breitbart News, or whether there were similar ones.

But the date is crucial: the next day, April 17, 2015, the Post notes, was when Hunter Biden received an email from a senior member of the corrupt Ukrainian energy company, Burisma, thanking Hunter for introducing him to his father. The email was one of the most significant documents to emerge on Hunter Biden’s laptop last October.

At the time, the Biden campaign lashed out, claiming Biden’s “official schedules” showed no meeting with the Burisma executive. The mainstream media, and Silicon Valley, suppressed the laptop story.

After the campaign, Hunter Biden admitted he was under federal investigation over tax problems.

There may be other legal troubles for the Bidens ahead.

The Post suggests that Hunter Biden used the World Food Program as a cover for the introduction between his father and his business associates. And Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA) has already asked the DOJ last year to look into Hunter Biden’s failure to register as a foreign agent while representing Chinese companies in the U.S.

There will also be questions about then-Vice President Biden’s apparent use of his position to benefit his son’s business interests.

Hunter Biden’s Burisma gravy train came to a halt after his daddy Joe, AKA, “The Big Guy” left office.

Hunter’s $1 million a year Ukraine salary was cut in half two months after Biden left office in early 2017.

But Hunter’s gig with Burisma had nothing to do with the fact that he was the son of a US Vice President – just ask Joe Biden.

The New York Post reported:

From May 2014, Burisma Holdings Ltd. was paying Hunter $83,333 a month to sit on its board, invoices on his abandoned laptop show.

But in an email on March 19, 2017, Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi asked Hunter to sign a new director’s agreement and informed him “the only thing that was amended is the compensation rate.”

“We are very much interested in working closely together, and the remuneration is still the highest in the company and higher than the standard director’s monthly fees. I am sure you will find it both fair and reasonable.”

After the email, the amount listed on Hunter’s monthly Burisma invoices was reduced to $41,500, effective from May 2017. The amount was paid in Euros, at the rate of between 35,000 Euros and 36,100 Euros per month, based on currency fluctuations at the time.

No reason is given for the decrease in salary. The only change in circumstance appears to be that Hunter’s father was no longer in office.

In 2016, Hunter’s total income from Burisma was $999,996. In 2017 it dropped to $665,000, and then $498,000 in 2018.

Hunter Biden ultimately resigned from the Burisma board in April of 2019.

Hunter Biden’s former associated Tony Bobulinski said Joe Biden was heavily involved in his son’s international business dealings.

“Hunter Biden called his dad “the Big Guy” or “my Chairman” and frequently referenced asking him for the sign-off or advice on various potential deals that we were discussing,” Bobulinski said. “I’ve seen Vice President Biden saying he never talked to Hunter about his business. I’ve seen first hand that that’s not true, because it wasn’t just Hunter’s business, they said they were putting the Biden family name and its legacy on the line.”

A May 2017 text message previously released revealed Tony Bobulinski was warned by his business partner James Gilliar not to mention Joe Biden was involved.

‘School of Rock’ actor Kevin Clark dead at 32, hit by car while biking

Kevin Clark, the child actor who played Freddy “Spazzy McGee” Jones in the 2003 film “School of Rock,” died after being fatally struck by a car while riding his bicycle. He was 32.

Clark was biking in the Chicago neighborhood of Avondale early Wednesday when a Hyundai Sonata struck him at 1:20 a.m., police told the Chicago Sun-Times. The driver of the vehicle — a 20-year-old woman — was issued citations in response to the incident and released, police said.

Clark had been biking home when he was killed, his sister said, according to TMZ.

Paramedics rushed him to the Illinois Masonic Medical Center but he was pronounced dead at 2:04 a.m.

In response to the news, “School of Rock” star Jack Black, 51, shared a touching tribute on Instagram, writing, “Devastating news. Kevin is gone. Way too soon. Beautiful soul. So many great memories. Heartbroken. Sending love to his family and the whole School of Rock community.”

In the post, it appeared the two had reunited in Clark’s adulthood.

The Mayor visited China in 2014 at the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), dubbed the “public face” of the United Front influence group. It is described as “avowedly an arm of the party-state.”

The U.S. State Department has described the CPAFFC as seeking to “directly and malignly influence” U.S. state and local leaders.

Deputy Secretary-General of CPAFFC, Zhang Heqiang, authored an article for the group’s magazine entitled “Saying Farewell to Mayor Garcetti at Beijing Airport” where he reveals that Garcetti praised Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping as “remarkable”:

“He spoke of President Xi Jinping as a remarkable Chinese leader, whose foreign policy succeeded in helping China build an image of responsible major country in the international community.”

The article also describes how Garcetti visited with Chinese companies labeled “military collaborators” such as Huawei and “signed quite a few cooperation agreements.”

Zhang recounts how the pair messaged on WeChat – a Chinese platform identified as a national security threat by the Trump administration – and that Garcetti sent him a photo of Xi while lauding the CPAFFC official:

“I was surprised to know that Mayor Garcetti took the Beijing subway all by himself and that during his stay in China he even learned to use WeChat and built WeChat friend-groups. He praised WeChat instant messaging system as really good and more convenient than Facebook, and added me as a WeChat friend. Right away he sent a photo of President Xi Jinping waving his hand and jested with me saying that President Xi was very satisfied with my work and was waving hello to us.

On my way home, I unexpectedly received a voice message from Mayor Garcetti on WeChat: “Mr. Zhang, thank you for your hospitality. I look forward to seeing you again.”

Garcetti has collaborated with additional Chinese Communist Party influence groups, including the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF).

CUSEF attempts to “effectively disseminate positive messages to the media, key influencers and opinion leaders, and the general public” regarding the Chinese Communist Party, according to Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) filings with the Department of Justice.

The National Pulse has previously revealed CUSEF sponsoring trips to China for mainstream corporate media outlets in exchange for “favorable coverage” and for current and former elected U.S. officials “chosen based on their […] open-minded perspective to China.”

18 Connecticut Teens Hospitalized for Heart Problems After COVID Vaccines, White House Says Young People Should Still Get the Shots

One week after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced it was investigating heart inflammation in recently vaccinated young adults, Connecticut reported 18 new cases of heart problems among teens who had received a COVID vaccine.

All 18 cases resulted in hospitalization — the vast majority for a couple of days, reported NBC Connecticut. The cases were reported to the Connecticut Department of Public Health by vaccine providers, said Deirdre Gifford, acting health commissioner.

“One individual that we’re aware of is still hospitalized,” Guifford said Monday. “The other 17 have been sent home and they’re doing fine.”

The first case at Connecticut Children’s was Rachel Hatton’s 17-year-old son, Gregory.

“It’s terrifying,” said Hatton. Her son started complaining of severe chest pain three days after his second vaccine dose. It worsened on the fourth day, causing back pain.

After blood work and an x-ray, doctors diagnosed Gregory with pericarditis, an inflammation of the tissue surrounding the heart that can cause sharp chest pain and other symptoms.

“They hooked him up to a heart monitor, did more EKGs, echocardiograms. Infectious disease actually came and ran their own set of blood work to try to figure out if it could have been caused by something else, some sort of infection, something else, like Lyme disease. They tested him for all sorts of things and one by one those tests came back negative,” said Hatton.

Doctors couldn’t confirm Gregory’s condition was caused by the COVID vaccine, but two more recently vaccinated patients presented to the hospital with similar symptoms. A spokesperson from Connecticut Children’s said patients have presented with both pericarditis and myocarditis

Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle that can lead to cardiac arrhythmia and death. According to the National Organization for Rare Disorders, myocarditis can result from infections, but “more commonly the myocarditis is a result of the body’s immune reaction to the initial heart damage.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) incorrectly stated that former President Donald Trump met with Russian president Vladimir Putin in Norway – not Helsinki, Finland, where the meeting actually took place – and went on to attack Trump for not |forcefully” prosecuting a “case” against Russia.

Graham was asked by Fox host John Roberts about his thoughts on the idea of a summit in Switzerlkand between current U.S. president Joe Biden and Putin in 2021.

“Well, the summit can be helpful if you confront the bad behavior, the summit will be a disaster if you don’t call it out, I would argue that the Norway, I think it was in Norway, where President Trump met Putin,” Graham said. “That didn’t go very well. I don’t think President Trump prosecuted the case against Russia forcefully enough, and he got a lot of criticism.”

“Alright, that summit by the way was in Finland, Helsinki, because I was there,” Roberts said. “And you’re a senator and I’ll write it 100 times on the whiteboard.” Graham looked away from the camera and chuckled nervously.

New York Times COVID writer says lab leak theory is racist, then deletes her tweet after online blowback

A New York Times writer covering the COVID-19 pandemic deleted a tweet claiming that that the "lab leak theory" is racist after receiving online blowback.

Apoorva Mandavilli, the Times science and global health reporter, issued the missive on Wednesday.

"Someday we will stop talking about the lab leak theory and maybe even admit its racist roots," she wrote. "But alas, that day is not yet here."

The possibility that the coronavirus was a creation in a laboratory has been theorized by many including former President Donald Trump and has gained popularity as more and more evidence is revealed publicly. Many on the left have dismissed those discussing the lab leak theory as conspiracy theorists.

Critics pounced on Mandavilli's tweet as the latest incident proving bias at the Times.

"Nyt covid-19 reporter instills perfect confidence in the paper's ability to actually report the issue," replied commentator Becket Adams.

'I think my favorite thing about dismissing the lab theory as 'racist' is that it asks us instead to believe the virus started in a filthy chinese wet market filled with bats and pangolin stomaches or whatever," he added.

"Can someone explain to me why it's racist to wonder if a virus escaped from a Chinese lab, but it's not racist to insist that it infected humans because of Chinese wet markets? If anything, isn't the latter more racist?" asked Glenn Greenwald.

Mandavilli deleted the tweet but appeared to defend her position to a critic.

"A theory can have racist roots and still gather reasonable supporters along the way," she said in a tweet documented at Fox News. "Doesn't make the roots any less racist or the theory any more convincing, though."

Hours later, she offered a much different take on the issue.

"I deleted my earlier tweets about the origins of the pandemic because they were badly phrased," said Mandavilli.

"The origin of the pandemic is an important line of reporting that my colleagues are covering aggressively," she added.

A report released by House Republicans claimed that there was significant circumstantial evidence that the pandemic might have originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China. On Wednesday, President Joe Biden said he had ordered the intelligence community to redouble their efforts to discover the true origin of the coronavirus pandemic.

Mandavilli had previously reported that experts believed that total herd immunity was not a reachable goal and that the U.S. would need to face regular outbreaks of the coronavirus. MSNBC's Rachel Maddow called the report "crushing," and "scary."

USA Today Prepares Fact-Challenged Hit Piece On Gun Industry Ahead Of ATF Director Nomination Hearing

A USA Today reporter who has worked directly with a Bloomberg-funded anti-gun group is preparing an attack on a major gun industry trade group ahead of hearings for Biden's ATF nominee.

USA Today is working with an anti-gun group funded by failed Democrat presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg to attack a major gun industry trade group ahead of a Wednesday Senate hearing for President Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), The Federalist has learned.

Nick Penzenstadler, a USA Today reporter who has partnered with Bloomberg’s anti-gun publication The Trace, has peppered the National Shooting Sports Foundation with loaded questions and factually inaccurate assumptions about NSSF’s work, according to correspondence reviewed by The Federalist. NSSF is a Connecticut-based gun industry trade group that helps members navigate and comply with federal firearms laws and ATF rules and regulations.

The apparent premise of the still-in-progress USA Today attack is that NSSF, which works directly with ATF to advise federal firearms licensees (FFLs) on how to comply with the agency’s regulations, has never worked to help the ATF obtain the resources it needs to ensure compliance from gun manufacturers or dealers.

To support its narrative, USA Today interviewed Richard Marianos, a former ATF official who allegedly claimed NSSF had never sought additional resources for ATF.

“[Marianos] says, in short: The NSSF is like the [National Rifle Association], [NSSF] never once has said the ATF needs more money, help support, or resources,” Penzenstadler claimed in correspondence reviewed by The Federalist.

The notion that ATF doesn’t have the funding it needs to conduct its compliance operations could become a major theme of the Senate confirmation hearing for David Chipman to be director of the ATF. Chipman, a controversial anti-gun activist who works for an anti-gun group founded by the wife of Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Arizona, was nominated by Biden in early April to helm an agency that has not had a full director since 2006, when Congress passed a law requiring the position to be subject to Senate confirmation.

An examination of NSSF’s appropriations request history as well as interviews with former top ATF officials, however, directly contradicts the narrative being manufactured by USA Today and the Bloomberg-funded The Trace. Mike Sullivan, a former federal prosecutor and former acting director of ATF from 2006 to 2009, told The Federalist that Marianos’s claim, as characterized by Penzenstadler, was not true.

“My experience was the complete opposite of what Marianos is suggesting,” Sullivan said. “NSSF regularly lobbied Congress on its own about the need for additional ATF resources.”

“NSSF never once worked against an ATF budget,” Sullivan continued. “They never stood in the way of ATF’s requests for additional funding.”

Sullivan said he viewed NSSF as a partner in ATF’s mission of enforcing firearms laws throughout the country. He cited NSSF’s work in streamlining electronic forms that are used to conduct background checks on gun buyers so the forms would be more accurate and less prone to clerical errors, freeing up ATF resources for more important investigations. Sullivan also cited NSSF’s “Don’t Lie For The Other Guy” program to help reduce so-called straw purchases, in which individuals who can pass a background check illegally purchase weapons on behalf of individuals who are legally prohibited from purchasing or possessing guns.

Mr Cummings said 'tens of thousands of people died who did not need to die' as he conceded he should have been 'hitting the panic button' in mid-February but he had been 'wrongly reassured' by the WHO and others about the situation in China.

Having bungled the early phase of the crisis, Mr Cummings said the premier then opted to 'hit and hope' by deciding to shun a second 'circuit breaker' lockdown in September, despite entreaties from Chris Whitty and Patrick Vallance among others.

Mr Cummings also insisted he personally heard the PM say in his study on October 31 that he would rather let 'the bodies pile high' than trigger a third lockdown. Mr Johnson has flatly denied making the remark.

And he accused Matt Hancock and other officials of briefing at the time that the strategy was to reach 'herd immunity', which was seen as an 'unavoidable fact'. He insisted it is 'completely wrong' that the government is now denying it was their aim.

In a detailed timeline, Mr Cummings laid out his version of how the government was far from a 'war footing' in February, with senior figures including Mr Johnson himself going on holiday. 'Lots of key people were literally skiing in mid-February,' he said.

He said Mr Johnson regarded the pandemic as a 'scare story' and the 'new Swine Flu' at that stage, and had even suggested he could be injected with the disease live on TV by medical chief Prof Whitty to show people it was not a threat.

Mr Cummings said that on March 12 at 7.48am he texted the PM and said the Cabinet Office was 'terrifyingly sh**' and Covid restrictions should be stepped up immediately.

Everett, Wash., officials end crackdown on pro-life demonstrations

A Seattle suburb backed down from its ban on pro-life demonstrations outside a Planned Parenthood clinic following legal threats from First Amendment activists.

Everett, a city of over 100,000 people 25 miles north of Seattle, cracked down on pro-life demonstrations even as city officials embraced mass gatherings for left-wing protesters associated with the Black Lives Matter and Antifa movements. The city issued a ban on sidewalk protests in front of a Planned Parenthood clinic after a confrontation between pro-abortion and pro-life protesters. Lawyers for the pro-life groups alleged that the city government gave preferential treatment to the pro-abortion demonstrators by forcing pro-life advocates to move further away from the abortion clinic.

The reversal came after the Thomas More Society, a religious liberty law firm, threatened legal action on First Amendment grounds, arguing that the city was targeting the free speech rights of pro-lifers.

"It was a clear violation of the First Amendment rights of the pro-life sidewalk counselors," said Thomas More Society attorney Matt Heffron. "In the end, the city did the right thing. It just takes some legal pressure at times."

Everett's deputy city attorney disagrees with Heffron. "The City implemented reasonable crowd-control measures to protect public safety after protestors from pro-life and pro-choice groups had a physical altercation," he told the Free Beacon. "After no additional events arose for over a month, the City elected to remove restrictions."

The city's crackdown on pro-life protesters comes in the wake of a contentious year of political demonstrations in Washington state. Seattle became the focus of attention during the summer of 2020 over its "CHOP" zone, a neighborhood that left-wing protesters declared an "autonomous zone." Police officers cleared the zone after less than a month of existence due to violence in the neighborhood. Over the course of nine days, there were four shootings, two deaths, and reports of widespread arson and sexual assaults. Locals who lived near the zone said they experienced vandalism and property damage and needed to ask for others to escort them home at night because of safety concerns.

By walking back the ordinance, the city of Everett avoided a court battle. In 2014, the Supreme Court unanimously struck down on free speech grounds a Massachusetts law that created a 35-foot exclusionary zone outside of an abortion clinic. In 2020, the Court declined to hear two similar cases concerning protest zones outside abortion clinics in Pennsylvania and Chicago, but those ordinances had been more narrowly tailored to align with the Court's rulings on the issue.

Police officers for the city had disproportionately enforced the ordinance, according to Thomas More Society attorneys. The police had moved pro-life demonstrators far down the street while allowing a pro-abortion crowd to gather directly across from the clinic.

"Banishing the pro-life side to the far corners of the street while allowing the pro-choice protestors to remain near the clinic is strong evidence of viewpoint discrimination that renders this buffer zone all the more obviously unconstitutional," Thomas More attorneys wrote to the city on May 11.

Trust science? Fauci and NIH chief say Biden never consulted them before spiking COVID origin probe

Biden on Wednesday announced that he had asked the U.S. intelligence community to "redouble their efforts" to reach a conclusion about the source of the SARS-Cov-2 virus.

Top health experts at the U.S. Senate on Wednesday claimed that the Biden administration did not consult them before spiking a probe begun in the Trump administration into the potential origin of COVID-19 in a leak from a Chinese virological research institute, a possibility known as the lab-leak theory.

CNN reported this week that the Biden administration in the spring ended a Trump-era State Department investigation that sought to examine evidence for the lab-leak hypothesis, including what role, if any, the Chinese state bio-weapons program might have had in the origins of the SARS-Cov-2 virus.

Biden on Wednesday revealed in a White House announcement that he had asked the U.S. intelligence community to "redouble their efforts to collect and analyze information" about the origins of the virus "that could bring us closer to a definitive conclusion, and to report back to me in 90 days." Yet the Biden administration apparently axed the Trump administration probe in progress earlier this year without consultation with top U.S. disease experts, according to testimony in a Senate hearing Wednesday.

Asked by Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy during the hearing if the Biden administration had consulted with him prior to spiking the probe, White House coronavirus adviser and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci replied: "They did not."

National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins also confirmed that he had not been consulted before the probe was dropped. "I read about it in the press this morning," he said.

"They just spiked it without talking to their experts?" Kennedy asked.

A growing chorus of experts and commentators have been pushing in recent weeks for a thorough investigation into what role a lab accident may or may not have played in the origins of the COVID-19 probe.

Second, a TRIPs waiver will eliminate the most important of the barriers to China making sophisticated vaccines: patent protection. Reuters reports that the Biden administration does not want a waiver to aid the Chinese pharmaceutical industry and believes it can address this issue “through the WTO negotiations,” but unfortunately it “did not specify how.”

Of course, the Biden administration cannot stop Chinese companies once patent protection is waived. Furthermore, Beijing is not going to adhere to the terms of the waiver. As Reuters tells us, “Enforcing limits on use of the technology could be very difficult.”

Chinese Paper Calls for Probe of US’ Fort Detrick Biolab Amid Wuhan Lab COVID-19 Origins Fracas

Chinese scientists sequenced the genome of SARS-CoV-2 in early January 2020 and by March of that year had “irrefutably” concluded the virus was not of human design. Since then, the goalposts have shifted repeatedly in an attempt to keep laboratory escape a viable theory, despite no evidence to support the continued supposition.

Amid a flurry of statements by US health figures suggesting a deeper probe of the Wuhan Institute of Virology is warranted as part of the hunt for the origins of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, China’s state media has shot back, suggesting that the top US biolab at Fort Detrick should also be investigated.

“If they see the ‘lab leak’ theory as one of the directions of the investigation, the Wuhan Institute of Virology should not be the only one included,” the editors of the Global Times, a daily paper published by the Communist Party-owned People’s Daily, wrote on Wednesday.

“Since 2019, the Fort Detrick biolab has shown many signs worthy of attention, and should be included in the first group of targets for investigation. In addition, the US has also built an astonishing number of biolabs in Asia, and investigating them is an urgent project that must be added in the COVID-19 origins-tracing,” the editorial notes.

“If the efforts of virus origins-tracing focus on science rather than politics, expanding the scope of the investigation is completely logical and rational. However, the US is repeatedly using its and its allies' opinion tools to draw attention to Wuhan, especially to the lab there. It is clearly a political maneuver.”

US Biolab Has Leaked Before

Based in northern Maryland, Fort Detrick was once the center of the Pentagon’s bioweapons program and today houses several agencies focused on biodefense and research into some of the world’s deadliest diseases, including smallpox, anthrax, and viral hemorrhagic fevers like ebola.

Fort Detrick has been shut down several times over the years, including in 2009 when the Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases was found to be storing hazardous bacteria, viruses and toxins not included in its inventory, and again in 2019, when the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a “cease and desist” order after finding the lab had inadequate safety measures for waste disposal.

In addition, the FBI’s prime suspect for the 2001 anthrax attacks that followed the September 11 terrorist attacks and killed five people, Bruce Ivins, was a senior biodefense researcher at Fort Detrick. The FBI never charged Ivins before his apparent suicide in 2008, but after his death the bureau released a report on their investigation showing Ivins had stolen the anthrax spores from Fort Detrick.

WHO Report Finds Lab Leak ‘Extremely Unlikely’

In late March, the World Health Organization (WHO) released a report on its international trip to Wuhan to share data on COVID-19 in an attempt to better pinpoint the origins of the coronavirus that has killed nearly 3.5 million people since late 2019. Of the four possible origins the team looked at, a leak from the Wuhan virology lab was judged the least likely, although the scientists did not entirely dismiss it since they couldn’t disprove it. They suggested a zoonotic source was more likely, and also floated a fifth possibility: that it was brought to Wuhan by military athletes in the city for international games the October before the outbreak began.

Indiana Governor Traveling to Israel During 'Hour of Need'

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana's governor is traveling to Israel in the wake of the cease-fire to the 11-day war between Israel and Gaza's militant Hamas rulers.

Gov. Eric Holcomb's office announced Tuesday morning he would be in Israel Tuesday and Wednesday at the invitation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Republican governor said in a statement that he stands in support of Israel "during such an hour of need."

The governor's office says Holcomb will return to Indiana on Thursday and that the trip is being paid for by a nonprofit group whose directors include his 2016 and 2020 campaign managers.

New Pfizer study: Four fifths of all vaccinated children aged 12 and over complain of side effects

Pfizer/BioNTech published a study on the safety and use of their vaccine last Wednesday. It refers to the current status of the vaccination studies in the context of emergency approval. Some 78,9 percent of the vaccinated children developed some form of side effect.

The pharmaceutical giant released a 37-page “fact sheet” of its product on 19 May on security and application republished by Report24. It refers to the current status of vaccination studies in the context of the emergency approval EUA (Emergency Use Authorization).

The US health authority CDC has confirmed that children and adolescents develop Covid-19 in an extremely mild manner, if at all. Also, children and adolescents from the age of 12 cannot make the decision about an injection alone. Despite this, children are being targeted. The study showed that up to 80 percent of children develop side effects that can lead to severe trauma.

The new “factsheet” showed that the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccination was tested on 1097 children and adolescents from 12 to 15 years of age. At least 866 out of 1097 children developed some form of unpleasant side effect. In 466 the side effects were described as “mild”, in 393 they were “moderate” and in 7 they were described as “severe”.

The study was set up as a double-blind study, one in which neither the participants nor the experimenters know who is receiving a particular treatment. In addition to the 1127 children and adolescents injected with the first dose and 1097 with the second dose, 1127 and 1078 were injected with a saline solution as a placebo. The differences were remarkable: of the children vaccinated with the real vaccine, over five times as many complained of side effects within the first seven days.

Potentially fatal appendicitis is one of the potentially serious side effects that were seen more frequently in those injected with the product than in the comparison group.

The number of short-term serious side effects is given by Pfizer/BioNTech as 0,4 to 0,8 percent of those injected. Over the long term, these may increase. There are currently around 82 million people between the ages of 0 and 19 in the US. If all of these children and adolescents were to be vaccinated, between 330 000 to 660 000 recipients could be expected to have immediate severe side effects.

Nevertheless, the system media and health authorities are making children and their parents believe that they urgently need to be vaccinated with the experimental mRNA products.
