I agree. I’m convinced they had covid AND pneumonia, (and didn’t die, mind you), but the final diagnosis was specifically worded that way so the coders would properly assign an ICD code for billing, so the hospitals would get more money for the addition of that magic word. My hospital accounts were spread throughout the US too. I saw it with my own eyes.
