And it’s totally ridiculous that they didn’t want to get into a cycle of violence. Please. They didn’t want to lose their ability to get back into the JCPOA.
“The fallout from the Soleimani assassination is that the threat to US personnel in Iraq became more diffuse.” This is propaganda. The reality is the Iranians AND the Iraqis knew exactly what would happen if these militias killed an American.
