It may seem taboo today, but before, monarchs will do anything and we mean, anything to preserve their power and one of the ways they did this was to marry within the family. The act is called consanguinity where biological relatives marry each other is a foolproof plan to destruction. Inbreeding can lead to diseases and deformities throughout history, monarchs who are produced in inbreeding often led their rule in mayhem and disarray. Let us review the list of royals who had their constituents suffer due to the genetics effects of inbreeding.
KING CHARLES II OF SPAIN
Coming from the royal line of Habsburgs the most powerful family in Europe for hundreds of years, King Charles had in him the trademark characteristic of a Habsburg: oversized jawline and a large tongue. This made it difficult for King Charles II to speak and eat and is known to drool a lot. It is said that he is severely inbred that he is unable to walk until he is eight years old but even then he walks with a lot of difficulties.
King Charles II married twice but was not successful in producing an offspring, possibly an effect of him being a product of inbreeding. Because he wasn't able to produce an heir, he was the last Habsburg to rule Spain.
JOANA OF CASTILE
Born and ruled years before Charles II, Joana of Castile was the daughter of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella who are second cousins (and the older sister of another famous monarch Catherine of Aragon who also had trouble in rearing a child largely due to being a product of inbreeding).
Joana is known for being an intelligent, inquisitive, but moody child. When she was 16, she tied the knot with the son of the Holy Roman Emperor Maximillian I Philip the Handsome through an arranged marriage. Philip is known to be such a huge womanizer but it seems Joana is so smitten she can easily look past his adultery.
Her first mental breakdown happened when she ascended to the throne because of the death of her older siblings and it was made worse by the behavior of her husband towards her (philandering and constant political insecurity). She first showed hostility when she found one of her husband's mistress which she immediately stabbed in the face. Joana remained smitten and madly in love with her husband that when he died of typhoid fever at the young age of 28 (she believes that her husband was assassinated through poison), she refused to depart from his corpse. Joana slept beside her husband's dead body every night.

QUEEN VICTORIA
The famous Queen of England like to match her children with royalty from other European countries and as a result, Europe in the 19th and 20th centuries was pretty much a family business. For instance, her daughter Alice was married off to a Russian tsar and gave birth to Alexandra Romanov, the last Tsarina of Russia. It was also known that her lover Prince Albert was her first cousin and their children are, obviously, products of inbreeding. The most evident effect of inbreeding in this royal brood is hemophilia or the disorder which prevents blood from clotting. Queen Victoria was able to pass this trait to her children and grandchildren and while she, herself, did not have any form of suffering in possessing this disorder, her children and grandchildren did: one of her children and five of her grandchildren died brought on by complication of hemophilia.
Both the queen and Prince Albert possess the recessive gene that caused hemophilia but Queen Victoria's type of hemophilia is rather unique and this raised speculations that Edward, Duke of Kent is her biological father. Further evidence fueled this speculation as researchers explained that for the children to have hemophilia, both of the parents should possess the recessive gene and it is quite curious for a type of hemophilia as rare as Queen Victoria's to be passed down on her offsprings.
FERDINAND I OF AUSTRIA
Another Habsburg on the list, Ferdinand I is a direct descendant of Joana the Mad and born to Emperor Franz II and Marie-Therese who are double first cousins. Ferdinand I has hydrocephaly (big head shape brought by the presence of water in the brain), a common sight among those who belong to the royal line of Habsburg.
Like his predecessors, Ferdinand I possess the "Habsburg jaw" and epilepsy. Although physically weak, he was able to reign as king. In his lifetime, he was able to rule the unified kingdoms of Hungary, Austria, Bohemia, Lombardy, and Venetia. However, because of his predicaments, the affairs of the kingdom were controlled by his counselors and regents. One of Ferdinand I's quirks was to sit down on the open end of a wastebasket and roll around on the floor. Interestingly enough, he was able to rule the kingdom for 18 years and lived until the age of 82.

The Romanovs are famous for being a long line of leaders in Russia but it only took one Romanov to topple a kingdom because of a series of wrong decisions that led to their downfall at the hands of the Socialist Republic. The last Romanov family became some sort of a household tale. Alexei Romanov is a grandson of Queen Victoria and he inherited his grandmother's hemophilia. His frequent bleeding often threatened his life that his mother employed the help of Rasputin.
Despite the ruling class' disapproval of Rasputin and his alcoholism and sexual promiscuity, the Tsar and his wife believed he can heal Alexei.
PRINCESS VICTORIA MELITA
Another royalty from the line of Queen Victoria, Princess Victoria is lucky that the only thing she shares with her grandmother is her name and not the rare disorder that prevents blood from clotting called hemophilia. However, Princess Victoria still suffers from the effects of inbreeding as her grandmother insists she marries her cousin, the Grand Duke of Hesse. The two frequently fight because of the Duke's infidelity and was caught red-handed by Princess Victoria more than a couple of times. It was said that Princess Victoria was volatile during their arguments. The couple was divorced after the death of Queen Victoria and their eight-year-old daughter Elisabeth of Hesse.

George III is known for being the ruler when England lost their biggest colony – America. He belonged to the same family which Queen Victoria belongs to and is a product of inbreeding as well. Experts first hypothesized that George III suffered from porphyria, a condition that causes bouts of madness and turns urine purplish-blue.

Recent analyses, however, argued that George III does not have porphyria but is instead suffering from mental illness more specifically, bipolar disorder which is most probably caused by his inbreeding. The researchers pointed out that in George III's manic episodes, his writing was remarkably different and was known to talk non-stop until foam comes out of his mouth. He is known to history as the Mad King and his physicians would treat him using a straitjacket and ice baths. His manic episodes could have been the reason why he lost control of the American colony when the revolution happened.
Aside from his mental illness, George III was known to suffer from skin conditions that were treated with medicine made from Gentian. This medicine was probably the reason why his urine turned blue.
MARIA THE MAD QUEEN OF PORTUGAL
Queen Maria may be known as Maria the Pious and this obsessively devout behavior is a window to the mental illness brought on by genetic disorders as a result of being an interbred offspring. As a matter of fact, Maria was known to be so devout that when her confessor died, she would have bouts of raging temper tantrums and scream about her "damnation". Her screams are not exactly a pleasant sound since she is known to howl and create animalistic noises while shrieking.
Maria and England's resident mad king Geroge III share the same physician – Dr. Francis Willis. He diagnosed Maria the Pious as insane and the poor queen underwent horrible treatments like ice baths, induced blistering, and taking laxatives. Looking at it from a modern medical perspective, it is not surprising that none of those worked and the queen was rendered unfit to attend royal duties.
However dire the effects of inbreeding in Maria, it did not stop the practice. She married her uncle and their son also suffered from genetic challenges brought forth by this union.

Empress Elisabeth suffers from depression and anorexia: she has been known to be withdrawn and melancholic and because she is always nervous, she rarely touches her food. What's worse is that although she eats small amounts of food, she obsessively does exercise for several hours a day.

Empress Elisabeth's cousin also suffered mental illness from genetic disorders resulting from inbreeding. People are familiar with King Ludwig as the king who was completely out of touch with reality. King Ludwig descended from the Habsburgs who are notorious for their inbreeding practice. He is known for building grand palaces for escaping reality. Back when he was a child, this mother noticed his interest in dressing up and displays a vivid imagination. By the time he rose to power at the age of 18, he was still fond of the dream world he had created. To keep himself within that world, he became the patron of composer Richard Wagner and supported artistic expression.
However, the country is struggling with the expenses and their ruler, although physically present, prefers the comfort of grand palaces and not its responsibilities.

As long as the feudal system persists, so is consanguinity. The behavior was already observed even before these European monarchs even existed, back to the time of King Tutankhamen. Ancient Egyptian rulers followed the tradition of marrying within the family to keep the bloodline pure. One of ancient Egypt's famous pharaohs is a product of inbreeding and it showed in his physical appearance. There are several autosomal recessive genetic disorders that are more common in ethnically Jewish populations, particularly Ashkenazi Jews, than the population as a whole. This is due to population bottlenecks that occurred relatively recently in the past as well as a practice of consanguineous marriage.[1] These two phenomena lead to a decrease in genetic diversity and a higher likelihood that two parents will carry a mutation in the same gene and pass on both mutations to a child.
The genetics of Ashkenazi Jews have been particularly well-studied, as the phenomenon affects them the most. This has resulted in the discovery of many genetic disorders associated with this ethnic group.[2] In contrast, the medical genetics of Sephardic Jews and Mizrahi Jews are more complicated, since they are more genetically diverse, and consequently no genetic disorders are more common in these groups as a whole; instead, they tend to have the genetic diseases common in their various countries of origin.[2][3]
Several organizations, such as Dor Yeshorim,[4] offer screening for Ashkenazi genetic diseases, and these screening programs have had a significant impact, in particular by reducing the number of cases of Tay–Sachs disease.[5]
AOC's background is fishy
AOC’s dad is more or less a ghost. Sergio Ocasio-Roman, who died of cancer in 2008, founded an architecture firm in the early 1980s called Kirschenbaum Ocasio-Roman, Pc. The company is now defunct, though it’s not clear why, since there was obviously another partner listed in the name who could have kept the business going after Sergio’s death. But we know nothing of this Kirschenbaum, except that he was Jewish, of course. (See, for instance, Jewish comedian Fred Kirschenbaum.) The media loves to dredge up the fact that AOC’s dad was the CEO of an architectural firm as proof that she grew up wealthy. On the contrary, the business was listed as having annual revenues of $500,000 and six employees. After payroll, taxes, and keeping the lights on, that would pretty much leave them in the hole. It certainly wouldn’t leave enough for Sergio to afford a house in Westchester County. So the truth is even fishier than the fiction. Clearly, Kirschenbaum Ocasio-Roman is another shell company. If you look up its former address, 1510 Archer Road, Bronx, NY, you get a nondescript apartment building with no businesses listed. So Sergio ran his architectural firm for 25 years out of an apartment? Kind of like AOC running a PAC out of a paper bag.
Now for the interesting stuff. AOC already admits she has Sephardic Jewish ancestry, though she has passed it off in interviews as a very distant bloodline. AOC insists she is from a long line of Catholics. But on geni.com we find her grandmother listed as Thamar Neirida Ocasio. Thamar/Tamar is a Hebrew name of course, and not the common kind like Ruth or Naomi. So AOC’s Jewish heritage isn’t very distant. Neirida is also Jewish, linking us to Pablo Neruda, etc. Then we hit the name Pérez, a common Marrano name we’ve covered before, linking to Perry, Pereira, Peron, Pinon, Penn, and Pierce. From the Alamo paper you may remember our friend Ephraim Lópes Pereira d'Aguilar, 2nd Baron d'Aguilar, Jewish-English merchant and financier. His grandfather was from Lisbon, where he held the monopoly on all tobacco production and exports, though it’s never explained how he got this monopoly. Ephraim later held the tobacco monopoly in Vienna, where he was so successful that the Empress of Austria Maria Theresa made him her personal treasurer. That blatantly contradicts what we are told at Wikipedia, that “she was probably the most anti-Jewish monarch of her time.” From this genealogy, you can see the spread of the d’Aguilar family into India, Ireland, the U.S., and Jamaica. So there is evidence these d’Aguilars made it to the Caribbean. More on that below. They also married into several top families along the way, including the Stewarts, Fitzgeralds, Jacksons, Popes, Goldsmids (Goldsmiths), Burtons, Crookshanks, Bacons, Barrows (anglicized form of Baruh/Baruch, Jewish), Langleys, Myers (Jewish), and the Jewish Lousadas, Dukes of Lousada. The Lousadas were also in Jamaica, where they owned many sugar plantations. But they were based in England, where they lived at Peak House in Sidmouth, Devon:

The Lousadas were also Guzmans (Jewish) and Saavedras (also Jewish). This ties into the Alamo paper again, where we saw Don Quixote author Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra outed as a crypto-Jew. Cervantes had a love affair with a woman named Josefina Catalina de Parez, whose granddaughter married a Sotomayor in Puerto Rico. We also learned that Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is a Puerto Rican Jew who is also a Cortes. Which of course brings us back to Puerto Rican Jew Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. All these same Marrano names popping up in all the same places! We can also loop in Hernán Cortés, the famous Spanish explorer of Mexico, who was related to fellow explorer Álvaro de Saavedra.
On barrow-lousada.org we find that the Lousadas emigrated to Australia and intermarried with the Sephardic Montefiore banking family (relatives of the Rothschilds), where they had a hand in the Rum Rebellion, the founding of South Australia, the ANZ Bank, and the Victorian gold rushes. So pretty much every spooky and exploitive event in that country’s early colonial history. They did the same thing in the U.S. Judith d’Aguilar Lousada’s second cousin was Isaac Touro, a Portuguese Sephardic Jew born in Amsterdam who moved to Jamaica in 1758.

After Jamaica, he settled in Newport, Rhode Island, where he founded the Touro Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in America. George Washington was pals with Touro and visited his synagogue in 1790. So it was a spook hangout (plus, GW was Jewish). Isaac’s son Judah co-founded Boston’s first bank, Massachusetts Bank, with his brother-in-law Moses Michael Hays, also Jewish. (Hays also helped establish the Masonic movement in New England, becoming Grand Master of the Massachusetts Lodge and naming Paul Revere as his Deputy. The Hays family later intermarried with the Rothschilds, Levinson's, Cohens, and Ochs/Sulzbergers – see Arthur Hays Sulzberger, publisher of the New York Times. The Hayses themselves were descended from the Jewish Adolphus family from Germany, lending even more credence to Hitler’s Jewishness.) Massachusetts Bank financed the first voyage of an American ship to Argentina, where it soon established a foreign headquarters in Buenos Aires as the Bank of Boston. From there it became the largest foreign bank in several major Latin American cities. Wikipedia admits the bank was unaffected by the Wall Street Crash of 1929. What they don’t admit is that all the big banks profited from the crash. That was the point.
We’re told the bank’s Buenos Aires headquarters were blown up on Christmas Eve 1927 by Italian anarchist Severino Di Giovanni. We can immediately out that as a staged event based on his name. Again going back to the Alamo paper, we know that Mexican President Santa Anna was a Severino, as well as a López and a Pérez. Severino is also a peerage name, linked to the Livingstons (a.k.a. That’s a paste-up. Several of the men are leaning so much in various directions that they all look as if they’re about to fall over. And they are all looking at the camera when they would naturally be watching Di Giovanni being escorted across the room. None of them seem remotely aware of him at all. That’s because he was pasted in later. There is no picture of him in court, because he was never in court. He was never on trial, either, and he was never executed. We’re told he was put on military trial, despite the fact that he was not in the military. His appointed defense attorney, Lieutenant Juan Carlos Franco, did such a good job defending him that Franco himself was imprisoned and then deported! Yeah, right. Di Giovanni was just controlled opposition. Same with his anarchist buddy Alejandro Scarfó, who was imprisoned for attempting to assassinate President-elect Hoover in 1928 but was released a mere six years later and magically never heard from again. The things they expect you to believe!
We’ve established that the Pereira/d’Aguilar/Lousada family made it to the Caribbean, where they owned several sugar plantations, particularly in Kingston, Jamaica. We can assume they were also the Jews that ran all of the piracy out of Kingston, as we learned in the Jewish Pirates paper. But can we link them more directly to Puerto Rico, and thus to AOC? Since they settled at both ends of the Caribbean – Barbados and Jamaica – we can assume they settled in the central islands as well. Indeed, we find a Sarah Aimee d’Aguilar, daughter of Mordecai and Esther, born in St. Croix in 1825, marrying Jacob Pereyra y de Leon, and dying in St. Thomas. The de Leons are another prominent (now admittedly) Jewish family across the Caribbean and the Americas, which included many explorers – including Juan Ponce de León, who became the first Governor of Puerto Rico. (Also see Luis Ponce de Leon first Governor of New Spain and friend of Hernán Cortés, who before his death turned over his governorship to Marcos de Aguilar.)

We get an even better link to AOC with Sarah Aimee d’Aguilar’s daughter, Hana, who married a Romondt. Look familiar? That’s just a variant of Roman. Remember that AOC’s father was Sergio Ocasio-Roman.

Now here’s another link: the Pereira/d’Aguilar/Lousada family was related to the Torres family. Guess what name we find in AOC’s ancestry? Her grandmother Thamar was nee Román-Torres. So AOC comes from all these Portuguese-Jewish families that have ruled the Caribbean roost (or at least exploited it) for centuries.
There’s another gem in AOC’s ancestry. That would be the name Betancourt. If you follow AOC’s Betancourt line on geni.com, you go all the way back to Felix Betancourt, born 1740 in the Canary Islands. Conveniently, this is the first Betancourt in her line from the Canary Islands and also the last stop on the train. The line is scrubbed after Felix. Can you guess why?
Bettencourt is a surname and noble family of Norman origin. The head of the family in the 14th century, Jean de Béthencourt, organized an expedition to conquer the Canary Islands, resulting in his being made King of the Canary Islands. Though the royal title would be short-lived, it allowed the family to firmly establish itself afterwards in the Azores and Madeira islands. The family is one of the most expansive and established families of the Portuguese nobility.
Why did he sign up for the Canary Islands expedition? I’m glad you asked: “Béthencourt possessed textile factories and dye works and the Canaries offered a source of dyes such as the orchil lichen.” That pretty much proves the Béthencourts were Jewish. The orchil lichen produces red-to-purple dye that is used to color wool and silk. Sounds a lot like the dye extracted from Murex snails to make Tyrian purple, doesn’t it? You know what that means. The Béthencourts were Phoenicians! They’ve scrubbed AOC’s genealogy beyond Felix for that very reason – it would link her not only to one of the most renowned Portuguese noble families, but more importantly to our Phoenician/Jewish crypto-rulers.

This also links AOC to the late L’Oreal heiress and World’s Richest Woman, Liliane Bettencourt (above), who Miles touched on in his Spotlight paper. Wikipedia admits that Liliane’s husband André was a descendent of Jean de Béthencourt. They try to paint André as antisemitic, but he was just plain Semitic. If we revisit the Spotlight paper, we find that journalist Michael Rezendes descends not only from a Bettencourt, but also a Barreira. Look familiar? That’s just a fudging of Pereira. Around and around these families go.
There are also Béthencourts/Bittencourts in the peerage, where they are related to the Vaughans, Earls of Lisburne, and through the Vaughans, the Courtenays (Viscounts of Powderham Castle), Baronets Palk, Gascoignes, Nightingales, Watsons, Malets, Wilmots (Earls of Rochester), Hookers (including a Lord Mayor of London), Baronets Prideaux, Lloyds (think Lloyd’s of London), and Hawleys (Barons of Duncannon), to name a few.
Miles: even better, we find Ramon Betances, the father of Puerto Rico Independence. They sell him as a big philanthropist, but that is just the usual whitewash. They did the same thing with Carnegie and the Rockefellers. His family was actually rich sugar barons, Freemasons, and slavers. They were cryto-Jewish merchants from Spain and France from way back, as usual. Betances is just a shortening of Betancourt. So AOC doesn't come from poor Puerto Ricans, as you are told. She comes from Puerto Rican Jewish royalty. Betances' Wiki page is the normal transparent fiction, where he is sold as a great revolutionary and friend of the people, when what he was is an agent of the US financial elite, who wished to take control of the islands—which of course they did.
Also see Romulo Betancourt, President of Venezuela 1945-64, sold as the Father of Venezuelan Democracy. When what he really was is a J. Edgar Hoover look-alike who was another cloaked fascist. He rose through the Communist Party, proving he was Jewish. So we already see the contradiction: he is sold as the father of Democracy, while being a Communist. Communism is not a variant of Democracy, but its opposite. Communism is just a front for the Industrials and bankers, and has been since the 1840s and before. Betancourt became President right after the War by a military coup. Is that the way Democrats normally rise? They admit he overthrew Angarita, who was taxing the oil companies 60%. We are told Betancourt lowered it to 50/50, though that is also a fudge. But you can already see he was a stooge of the oil companies, just as you would expect. They are the ones who really run these countries, not the paper mache Presidents. To avert real revolution, he was instructed to pretend to nationalize oil refinery, just as they were pretending to nationalize the banks in the UK, US, and elsewhere. But it was all a smokescreen in both cases. Nothing was actually nationalized, and most of the profits continued to go to the trillionaire Families.

If we switch over to geneanet.org, we find a Juan Ocasio-Roman born 1740 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico – same hometown as AOC’s family. Interestingly, this line is scrubbed after another Felix, this time Felix Ocasio rather than Felix Betancourt. But this Felix Ocasio married a Mariana Gonzalez de Vetancurt, which of course is just a variant of Betancourt. So we’ve definitely found AOC’s ancestors here. Can we find any more interesting family links on geneanet? You bet. This Mariana Vetancurt’s mother was a Miranda, another prominent family closely related to the Lousada Dukes. George Orwell's 1984 has made waves in the cultural world, even if it's someone comparing the dystopian novel to why they can't buy a breakfast meal after 11 am. However, Microsoft believes that real-life technology may soon replicate Big Brother's in the coming years.
Microsoft's Bold Claim for the Future of AI
Microsoft's president, Brad Smith, made the somewhat scary prediction on BBC Panorama. In it, the UK news giant explored how China uses artificial intelligence to keep an eye on its citizens.

Smith said that the government needs to keep up-to-date on how technology can spy on people and create laws to protect citizens' privacy as it develops. If it fails to do so, the technology runs the risk of "racing ahead," and once it gets a headstart, it will be "very difficult to catch up."
Smith is afraid of what might happen if things went unchecked:
I’m constantly reminded of George Orwell’s lessons in his book 1984. You know the fundamental story… was about a government who could see everything that everyone did and hear everything that everyone said all the time.
Well, that didn’t come to pass in 1984, but if we’re not careful that could come to pass in 2024.
The US and China: a Cold War for AI
Other people seem to agree with Smith. Eric Schmidt, a former Google chief executive and current member of the US National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, said that China was the country to beat in terms of AI.
That's because China is gunning to be the world leader of AI technologies by 2030. It already has had a fantastic start, with more AI-based patents than the US in 2019 and 54 of the 770 million CCTV cameras in the world pointed at Chinese citizens.
As such, US experts are worried that China's values will seep into the Western world if left unchecked. However, China claims that it has no such plans on the table as of right now.
Dr. Lan Xue, an advisor for the Chinese government, said that its face-scanning technology would prove "tremendously helpful" should something bad happen. Xue also claims that the US's fears are less based on an invasion of Chinese values and more about the US wanting to dethrone China as the number one player for AI technology.
The US doesn't buy China's claims. Seth Moulton, chair of the US Future of Defence Task Force, is currently rallying US tech companies to boost the country's AI capabilities. And Moulton doesn't deny that this "AI arms race" may end in conflict with China in the future.
A Global Race for the Best AI
As China's AI capabilities begin to grow, researchers and experts are worried that its surveillance values will eventually arrive in the West. If that happens, Microsoft feels we may see the dystopian world depicted in 1984 come true.
Given how far technology has advanced, it's easy to feel as if we have eyes on us 24/7. Fortunately, there are ways you can fight back, such as making sure that someone isn't hijacking your webcam without you knowing.
