Judge refuses to dismiss charges against Antifa leader Yvette Felarca
Yvette Felarca is a leader of a Berkeley area Antifa group called By Any Means Necessary (BAMN). Last July Felarca was arrested on charges of inciting a riot and felony assault over an incident that took place in Sacramento in 2016. In February of this year, Felarca and two other Antifa defendants asked a judge to dismiss the charges on the grounds that she is the victim of a “political witch hunt” involving a cover-up and police collusion with fascist protesters. Today, County Court judge Michael Savage ruled the felony case against Felarca could proceed.

Trump picks billionaire financier to lead Intelligence Advisory Board
The White House announced Friday that President Trump has selected billionaire financier Stephen Feinberg to lead his Intelligence Advisory Board.
Trump plans to appoint Feinberg, who is the co-founder and co-chief executive officer of Cerberus Capital management in New York and “brings over 30 years of experience conducting organizational assessments, operational improvements, and complex reforms across foreign and domestic stakeholder to his position,” according to White House press secretary Sarah Sanders.

President Donald J. Trump Approves Hawaii Disaster Declaration
Today, President Donald J. Trump declared that a major disaster exists in the State of Hawaii and ordered Federal assistance to supplement State and local recovery efforts in the area affected by the Kilauea volcanic eruption and earthquakes beginning on May 3, 2018, and continuing.
Federal funding is available to the State and to eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by Kilauea volcanic eruption and earthquakes in Hawaii County.
Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.
Brock Long, Administrator, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security, named Willie G. Nunn as the Federal Coordinating Officer for Federal recovery operations in the affected area. **
Additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.

Facebook is facing a class-action lawsuit following revelations it collects text messages and phone calls via its smartphone apps on Android devices.
The social network giant’s actions “presents several wrongs, including a consumer bait-and-switch, an invasion of privacy, wrongful monitoring of minors and potential attacks on privileged communications” such as those between attorneys and clients or doctors and patients, the lawsuit alleges.

James Comey will be a no-show at Senate hearing on Russian meddling
Former FBI Director James Comey will not be participating in a closed-door hearing next week with the Senate Intelligence Committee on Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
“Because of a previously scheduled engagement, Jim will not be testifying at this hearing,” Comey’s attorney Daniel Richman said, per Politico.
Other former leaders of the intelligence community — former National Intelligence Director James Clapper, former CIA Director John Brennan, and former NSA Director Adm. Mike Rogers — are planning to attend the hearing on Wednesday.
