COLOMBUS, Ohio — A convicted felon fleeing from his sentencing hearing jumped off a balcony at the Franklin County Government Center, video released shows.

 

The video, which comes from three courthouse security cameras, shows 44-year old Donald Mullins, running from deputies before jumping over a balcony railing on the sixth floor.

 

In a graphic video taken by a bystander, Mullins can be seen lying on the fifth floor for several minutes, unable to get up and bleeding profusely. He was later taken to the hospital for treatment

 

Mullins was in court last Thursday on charges of aggravated burglary, robbery and theft. He was found guilty after his DNA was discovered on an Oreo cookie at the crime scene.

 

Mullins was sentenced to four to six years in prison. Mullins asked judge Mark Serrott for time before being incarcerated to have surgery for some medical issues, but Serrott denied. That’s when Mullins, who was out on bond, fled the courtroom and jumped over the balcony railing.
