Expert: We Must Discover Origins Of COVID-19 To Prevent COVID-26, COVID-32

A prominent expert on rare infectious diseases has stressed that the origins of COVID-19 must be discovered in order to prevent similar outbreaks in the future. Dr. Peter Hotez of Baylor College of Medicine said the U.S. must insist on sending a team of investigators to Wuhan in order to collect evidence on bat-virus experiments there. He warned that without full access to the lab itself, the origins may never be uncovered.

“There’s going to be COVID-26 and COVID-32 unless we fully understand the origins of COVID-19. This is absolutely critical,” said Hotez.'

He added that China must face serious consequences if it continues to resist such a probe. The professor went on to say if the Chinese government were telling the truth about COVID-19, it would be in its best interest to host an international probe into its origins.

Jason Whitlock says Kwame Brown’s ‘anti-woke’ message a cultural gamechanger for blacks

Independent journalist Jason Whitlock, formerly of Fox Sports and Outkick, is heaping praise on ex-NBA player and now YouTube phenomenon Kwame Brown for his non-woke content that has taken social media by storm and could be a cultural game-changer, as it were.

Whitlock described Brown, who was drafted by the Washington Wizards straight out of high school in 2001, as “a bolt of lightning” who is reaching a massive online audience.

In just about two weeks or so, Brown’s YouTube channel has grown from about 10,000 subscribers to 300,000 and rising, along with nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram.

Brown appears to be a fan of Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder, and Candace Owens and has expressed support for free speech and criticized the cancel culture.

Brown “is not remotely woke. He’s actually on the other side…he’s unpacking these bigger ideas about changing this very negative culture that has been defined for black people and we’ve embraced, and black people are loving it. They’re running towards him….they’re saying, ‘yes, we’ve been waiting on someone to say this and represent this, in a way we believe in’,” Whitlock claimed, speaking of Brown’s pro-masculinity, pro-fatherhood message.

“People are running to Kwame Brown, and everybody in the black Internet space is talking about him, and having a reaction. And there’s been nothing but support…He’s representing working-class people of all races…he’s anti-elite…I’m hopeful the tide is really turning,” Whitlock added about a possible tipping point.

In reference to Brown and image consultant Kevin Samuels (whose content focuses on marriage and relationships), “they’re so anti-woke.”

Whitlock also claimed that other retired NBA stars are also backing Kwame Brown, which runs counter to the left-wing narrative that seems to dominate the league, at least among active players.

Brown started to gain traction with a beef with ex-NBA players Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, who mocked Brown’s NBA career as a failure, i.e. a bust, on their podcast.

Brown, who titled his YouTube channel “bust life,” called them out in no uncertain terms. He’s also feuding with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, radio host Charlemagne tha God, and journalist Jemele Hill (who he once accused of using “little liberal, Democratic talking points”) and others.

Brown’s folksy, charismatic, and prolific YouTube monologues/rants (warning for offensive language and profanity) are both comedic and also contain a very serious message that Jason Whitlock is alluding to.

Although this might be an oversimplification of his philosophy, Brown has — among other things — expressed disdain for NBA players and others who go on TV and virtue signal, instead of using their resources to launch businesses in the community and establish learning and recreational centers that will enable the next generation to succeed.

Kwame Brown also takes pride in that at age 18, his NBA contract allowed him to buy his mom a home on a posh golf course. Brown played in the NBA for 12 years with seven different teams.

Brown often talks about “sprinkling his mother’s cooking,” which appears to be a reference to his intent to aggressively respond on his platform to his critics, which has already prompted several of them to apologize to him.

It seems likely that Kwame Brown, assuming he dials back the cuss words, is about to go mainstream (however mainstream is defined these days) with his pro-empowerment, personal responsibility message.

Cruz and Hagerty Land in Israel to Assess Damage from Hamas War

Senators Ted Cruz (R., Texas) and Bill Hagerty (R., Tenn.) landed in Israel on Sunday to assess the damage from the country’s most recent war with Hamas and meet with the Jewish state’s leaders.

The lawmakers—both members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee—will tour Israel’s southern cities, which were heavily targeted by Hamas, and sit down with Israeli leaders to reaffirm the Republican Party’s unwavering support for the security alliance with America.

The trip comes as Democrats in Congress are increasingly divided over U.S. support for Israel. Lawmakers on the Party’s left flank have repeatedly called for the Biden administration to freeze security aid to Israel and consider sanctioning the country for carrying out defensive strikes on Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip. Reps. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.), Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.), and other members of the so-called Squad are attempting to push their colleagues into adopting their anti-Israel positions, a strategy that appears to be gaining ground as an increasing number of Democrats champion a wholesale reassessment of the historically bipartisan U.S.-Israel security alliance.

The Democratic Party’s divisions on Israel were on full display in the House earlier this month when virtually every Democrat voted to table two bills that would sanction Hamas and boost funding to Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system, which played a central role in intercepting Hamas missiles before they struck civilian areas.

Cruz, in a statement to the Washington Free Beacon before he departed for Israel, said he organized the trip "to hear and see firsthand what our Israeli allies need to defend themselves, and to show the international community that we stand unequivocally with Israel."

Cruz criticized Democrats for backing away from the U.S.-Israel alliance.

"Far too many Democrats morally equivocated between Israel and the terrorists attacking them, and fringe progressive Democrats went even further with wild accusations and conspiracy theories," he said.

Cruz petitioned the Biden administration just before the trip to immediately replenish Israel’s supply of Iron Dome missiles, which he said "saved thousands of lives." Democrats oppose the effort. The senator also said the trip is an important opportunity to study the most recent conflict in person.

Hagerty, in comments to the Free Beacon, said the trip will allow him to "see firsthand what more the U.S. can do to strengthen our vital alliance with Israel at a time when terrorists like Hamas and Hezbollah and terror-sponsoring regimes in Iran and Syria are making the Middle East more dangerous."

Hagerty plans to talk with Israeli political leaders about steps the United States can take to promote and strengthen the Abraham Accords, the historic set of peace agreements brokered by the Trump administration between Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.

Hagerty is the author of recently filed legislation that would authorize the emergency resupply of Israel’s Iron Dome system. He also is spearheading an effort to stop the Biden administration from granting Iran sanctions relief without congressional approval.

Israel faces change of government as anti-Netanyahu opposition announces agreement

A coalition of Israel’s opposition parties have announced they have reached an unlikely agreement and now have the votes to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the country’s longest serving leader.

Naftali Bennett, former defense minister for Netanyahu, and opposition leader Yair Lapid will lead the opposition parties under this new agreement that would split power in a “unity government.” Bennett would take over as prime minister first, and then Lapid if they are successful in pushing Netanyahu from power.

“We could go to fifth elections, sixth elections, until our home falls upon us, or we could stop the madness and take responsibility,” Bennett announced on Sunday, adding that this “unity government” is needed to save Israel from its “tailspin.”

This coalition will have one week to finalize deals and then will face a vote in the Knesset. Lapid will inform President Reuven Rivlin of his ability to form a new government with his partners on Monday, according to reports. Netanyahu, who has faced four elections in two years as well as corruption charges, has tried offering a rotation style for the government, but has been rejected, as the opposition coalition has the unified goal of removing Netanyahu from office.

In a Sunday message posted to Twitter, the prime minister blasted his rivals and the coalition deal as the “scam of the century,” adding that recent conflicts with Hamas prove that Israel can not function with a “left-wing government.”

“We just got out of a war, from a military operation, and it was clear, amid the battle, that it’s not possible to fight with Hamas from a left-wing government,” he said, proposing that they form a functioning “right-wing government for Israel” instead.
