The last time naturalists observed an Otus brookii brookii, a subspecies of the Raja scops owl that inhabits the Asian islands of Borneo and Sumatra, was in 1892. More than 120 years later, a group of researchers has managed to document this nocturnal bird, as is collected in the study published in April in the Wilson Journal of Ornithology.
