Lithium Americas has started development planning for phase II expansion at the Caucharí-Olaroz lithium project in Argentina.

The partners are also planning to add infrastructure at the site to support long-term expansion beyond the second stage.

As per estimates, the Cauchari-Olaroz mine contains brine reserves of 1.1 billion cubic metres, grading 607mg/l lithium.

The project is expected to have 682,920t of lithium metal and 3.6 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent in proven and probable reserves.

Lithium Americas holds a 49% stake in the lithium project, while its Chinese partner has the remaining 51% holding.

SENATOR Ben Ayade on Thursday flagged off 8.2 billion naira hydro electricity project situated at the Obudu Ranch Resort to provide alternative electricity to the state and other surrounding states.

Speaking at the workshop for technicians, and stakeholders in hydro electricity, Senator Ayade bemoaned the failure of Nigeria to utilise the billions of cubit water available in the country to provide alternative power supply in the country.

“After the construction of the Obudu hydro power project, let the next plant be constructed by Nigerian engineers because we have those willing to acquire the skill”.

He said the Chinese who are serving as consultants to the hydro power project adopted the technology from Germany and there is nothing wrong if Nigeria adopts the same approach to meets its electricity needs.

” I declare this workshop open with a sense of melancholy because I find it difficult to understand why at this age we are still where we are: black is no longer a colour but an expression of failure and it is my sincere faith that we grow beyound the level we are now”.

Parties of the European right should form an alliance to be an efficient political alternative to the left, President of Italy's League party Matteo Salvini said at the Chega party conference in Portugal.

Salvini said that this alliance would be made up of Identity and Democracy (ID, to which the League also belongs), the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) and, together with Viktor Orbán, and parties from the European People's Party (EPP).

"The moment has come to bring together the best of these three groups to become a dominant force in the European Parliament," Salvini said. In his statement, the politician called the issue of migration and the family an important European issue.

"There must be someone in Brussels who says no to surrogacy and the adoption of children by homosexuals," adding that "I hope there are some in the EPP (European People's Party), too, who refuse to be subordinated to the left".

Lt. Col. Yevgeny "Eugene" Vindman, an Army officer who was fired by the Trump White House, has said Trump's former national adviser Michael Flynn could face a court-martial over his remark that a Myanmar-like military coup "should happen" in the U.S.

In a tweet on Monday, Vindman branded Flynn's remarks "seditious."

"With these seditious remarks Comrade Flynn may have crossed the line for recall to active duty and court-martial," he wrote on his personal Twitter account.

As a member of the U.S. Army's legal arm, Vindman said he was "qualified and also happy to prosecute this case."
