Former Obama housing secretary Shaun Donovan says he’d be “the climate mayor,” but his multimillionaire dad, who’s funding his long-shot City Hall bid, is the opposite of an environmental steward.

Michael Donovan — who has given $6.8 million through a super PAC, making him the single largest donor in the entire mayoral race — owns three homes, a gas-guzzling private jet, and once destroyed wetlands in front of his $18 million Bridgehampton estate.

“If candidates are taking money from polluters, they are making a big mistake because people suffer,” said Maritza Silva-Farrell, head of the New York umbrella environmental group ALIGN.

Michael Donovan, 80, pioneered advertising software and had a near-monopoly of the media billing and tracking industry until his firm Donovan Data Systems merged with another company called Mediabank in 2011, forming a third entity called Mediaocean.

“Every major ad agency in the world uses their software,” a business colleague told The Post.

The tech entrepreneur remains on Mediaocean’s board. Google is now a major competitor.

The merger was approved by President Barack Obama’s Department of Justice when Shaun Donavan was a member of the cabinet.

“His father stood to gain hundreds of millions of dollars from something that the DOJ was reviewing,” the business colleague said.

“Everything was aboveboard, but it had potential to be very awkward,” he said.

Mediaocean was acquired by Vista Equity Partners in a $720 million deal in 2015. A year later, Michael Donovan landed on the Real Deal’s list of top Hamptons residential sales with his $18.2 purchase of 411 Jobs Lane in Bridgehampton. The 11,550-square-foot contemporary home has 11 bedrooms, 12-and-a-half bathrooms and a five-car garage.

Michael Donovan’s Manhattan address is just as impressive. He lives at 1040 Fifth Ave., a limestone luxury cooperative building that was once home to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

Biden Imported Oil from Iran in March – First Time Since 1991- Ignoring US Law to Please Terrorist Country

For the first time since 1991, the US imported oil from Iran.

According to the Financial Post:

The United States imported a rare cargo of 1.033 million barrels of Iranian crude in March despite sanctions on Iran’s energy sector, data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration showed.

The cargo is only the second oil import by the United States from Iran since late 1991, data on EIA’s website showed.

Rising number of women in NSW are having induced labours without any medical reason

Jessica Trusler remembers the moment a confused midwife rolled her eyes after hearing why the new mother was being induced into labour.

"I told her the obstetrician's name and that it was because the baby might be bigger than average," Ms Trusler said.

"She said, 'Right, of course' with the impression it was an unnecessary common practice."

For the otherwise healthy 31-year-old, it was a sign that artificially stimulating her labour last September could have been avoided, particularly given that her baby was average in size.

The experience left the first-time mother with unanswered questions and she's not alone.

New research led by Western Sydney University found that 15 per cent of young, healthy mothers in NSW have had an induction of labour with no medical reason given.

The study looked at 474,652 births and discounted nearly a million births to make sure only low-risk mothers under 35 were counted.

The three-year study led by professor of midwifery Hannah Dahlen also found long-term impacts on children.

"We found in induced births there was more neonatal birth trauma, more need for resuscitation, more need to care for neonatal intensive care and ongoing respiratory infections all up till age 16," she said.

The World Health Organization standard for inducing is 41 weeks but what shocked Professor Dahlen was the number of healthy women being induced early.

"I re-ran the data several times I was so shocked but in a 16-year period, we've had a doubling of inductions at 38 and 40 weeks and tripling if you're 37 and 39 weeks," she said.

"There's no excuse to be bringing a baby into the world before they're ready."

For Ms Trusler, she felt like she'd had no choice when she went for a check-up at 38 weeks and there was no discussion of risks or other options.

"My doctor said the bub might be big so we should induce, and I hadn't even finished putting my clothes on before she was on the phone booking me in for induction three days later.

"There was no concern for what I wanted in the experience and I think that was largely convenience — she was able to assure herself that I was going to have a baby [on a particular day]."

British Intelligence Representative Met With HTS Leader To Discuss Cooperation – Report

On May 31, Russian news agency TASS reported that the British MI6 intelligence agency’s representative met with the leader of the the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front (Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham). According to the reports, the meeting took place near the Bab al-Hawa Border Crossing on the Syrian-Turkish border.

According to a diplomatic source in Moscow, Jonathan Powell suggested that Abu Mohammad al-Julani should build close cooperation with European countries and the US.

The meeting was aimed at the the establishing of contact with international terrorist groups active in Syria. An agreement was reportedly reached on maintaining a permanent communication with international terrorists designated as such by the United Nations Security Council. Meanwhile, the sides were discussing a possibility of removing Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham from the list of terrorist organizations.

“The British side suggested that the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham group should announce plans to abandon subversive activities against Western countries and build close cooperation with them,” he said.

Mohammad al-Julani reportedly received recommendations to give an interview to an American reporter in order to create a positive image for the alliance that he heads. The UK’s allies, primarily the US, are supposed to take part in rebranding of the al-Nusra group.

“We would like to remind those who quickly forget their own bitter experience that there are no good terrorists and all attempts to tame and hand-feed them usually lead to many innocent deaths,” the Russian source emphasized.

Today, the HTS is mostly controlled by the Turkish special services. But they are also trying to cooperate with representatives of other countries, with whom they are negotiating the change of their status. In exchange to financial support, terrorists provide information about other Syrian militants.

Gottlieb’s comments come as the narrative in the legacy media has shifted in recent weeks toward considering the possibility that SARS-CoV-2 might have escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.When asked if he believes that the Chinese know the answer about the pandemic’s origins, Gottlieb responded, “They would know the answer to the question because they would have blood samples from the workers in that lab.”

“And that’s the evidence that they haven’t made public,” Gottlieb continued. “If, in fact, the blood samples show that a high prevalence of people in that lab have been exposed to this virus, that’s pretty definitive proof that this coursed through that lab. And they would also have the samples from the time that they were first drawn, which was the time when they had those illnesses. There’s no question that when they had an outbreak of an illness in that lab that they would have done routine blood sampling in that lab. That’s just normal controls in a lab of that quality. So they would have that information”

Vice President Kamala Harris spent the weekend under fire from Republicans, which of course means that Kamala Harris spent the weekend being criticized for the most silly, vapid reason you could possibly criticize Kamala Harris for.

Apparently the likely future president tweeted “Enjoy the long weekend,” a reference to the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, instead of gushing about fallen troops and sacrifice.

That’s it, that’s the whole entire story. That silly, irrelevant offense by one of the sleaziest people in the single most corrupt and murderous government on earth is the whole entire basis for histrionic headlines from conservative media outlets like this:

Harris, the born politician, was quick to course correct.

“Throughout our history our service men and women have risked everything to defend our freedoms and our country,” the veep tweeted. “As we prepare to honor them on Memorial Day, we remember their service and their sacrifice.”

Which is of course complete bullshit. It has been generations since any member of the US military could be said to have served or sacrificed defending America or its freedoms, and that has been the case throughout almost the entirety of its history. If you are reading this it is statistically unlikely that you are of an age where any US military personnel died for any other reason than corporate profit and global domination, and if you are it’s almost certain you weren’t old enough to have had mature thoughts about it at the time.

Whenever you criticize the US war machine online within earshot of anyone who’s sufficiently propagandized, you will invariably be lectured about the second World War and how we’d all be speaking German or Japanese without the brave men who died for our freedom. This makes my point for me: the fact that apologists for US imperialism always need to reach all the way back through history to the cusp of living memory to find even one single example of the American military being used for purposes that weren’t evil proves that it most certainly is evil.

But this is one of the main reasons there are so very many movies and history documentaries made about World War Two: it’s an opportunity to portray US servicemen bravely fighting and dying for a noble cause without having to bend the truth beyond recognition. The other major reason is that focusing on the second World War allows members of the US empire to escape into a time when the Big Bad Guy on the world stage was someone else.

Snowden Drops A BOMB: Joe Biden ‘Deeply Involved’ In NSA Op That Illegally Spies On European Leaders

According to a new bomb dropped by Edward Snowden, President Joe Biden was a part of a diabolical NSA program that spied on European politicians, including some of our strongest allies, with the help of Denmark.

A European media investigation revealed that German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Frank Walter-Steinmeier were among those illegally spied on by the NSA with the participation and support of the Danish Defense Intelligence Service (FE).

Rt.com reports: The US spying on not only its own citizens, but also leaders in foreign countries is an accusation that came to light in 2013, mostly thanks to documents leaked by former NSA contractor-turned-whistleblower – though he remains a fugitive in the US – Edward Snowden. Snowden’s leaks specifically revealed Merkel’s private cell phone had been monitored by US authorities.

The new revelations come as a result of multiple European news outlets – including Danish state broadcaster DR, German NDR, Swedish SVT, Norwegian NRK and French Le Monde among others – obtaining access to internal reports and information from Danish Secret Service sources.

According to the report, the NSA used Danish agents to target politicians in Germany, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, France, and even the Danish finance industry. The Danish government is said to have known about the collaboration for years and compelled the FE leadership to resign in 2020 when an internal probe revealed the full nature of the relationship. They did not, however, inform any European Union allies of the results.

The spying was primarily done through hijacking Danish electronic communications systems as the country has landing stations for subsea internet cables between numerous countries, such as Germany and Sweden. By using politicians’ and officials’ phone numbers, authorities were able to pull texts and phone calls, while those being spied on were none the wiser.

Snowden, who made his revelations about the NSA while Biden was vice president, says the current president is “well-prepared” to answer the accusations and that there should be a requirement of “full disclosure” from both Denmark and the US.

“Biden is well-prepared to answer for this when he soon visits Europe since, of course, he was deeply involved in this scandal the first time around,” he tweeted. “There should be an explicit requirement for full public disclosure not only from Denmark, but their senior partner as well.”

In response to explosive reports, Norway’s Defence Minister Frank Bakke-Jensen said they were “taking the allegations seriously,” while Sweden’s Defence Minister Peter Hultqvist said he “demanded full information on these things.” Neither the NSA nor the Danish Defence Intelligence Service have issued a comment yet.

Former German opposition leader and Merkel rival, Peer Steinbrück, who also reportedly had his communications monitored, told German broadcaster ARD that he considers the situation to be a “scandal.”

“It is grotesque that friendly intelligence services are indeed intercepting and spying on top representatives of other countries,” he said.
