New Evidence COVID-19 Was Manufactured in a Chinese Lab – Study.

A “bombshell” new study is claiming to have evidence that Covid-19 was created in a lab by Chinese scientists, who then attempted to re-engineer versions of the coronavirus to indicate natural evolution from bats.

Norwegian scientist Dr. Birger Sørensen and British Professor Angus Dalgleish collaborated on the “soon-to-be-published” study. The pair claim they have had primary evidence of Chinese “retro-engineering” as far back as last year. Major medical journals and academics ignored the evidence, however. According to the New York Post:

“Dalgleish is a London oncology professor known for breakthrough work on a vaccine for HIV. Sørensen is a virologist and chair of the pharmaceutical company Immunor, which developed a coronavirus vaccine candidate called Biovacc-19. Dalgleish also has a financial stake in that company.

It was during their COVID-19 vaccine research that the pair came across ‘unique fingerprints’ indicating the virus didn’t come from nature, they said. The telltale clue: a rare finding in the COVID-carrying virus of a row of four amino acids, which give off a positive charge and bond to negative human cells.

‘The laws of physics mean that you cannot have four positively charged amino acids in a row,’ Dalgleish told the Daily Mail. ‘The only way you can get this is if you artificially manufacture it.'”

Sørensen and Dalgleish tracked published Chinese research as well, including work done in collaboration with US universities, in an effort to demonstrate how the tools necessary to create Covid-19 virus could have been built.

Much of the reviewed work was related to “gain of function” research. Gain of function research involves the manipulation in a lab of naturally occurring viruses to increase their infectiousness, so as to examine the viruses’ potential effect on humans.

While the United States did put a moratorium on “gain of function” research back in 2014, even Dr. Fauci last week admitted to Congress that $600,000 of medical research funding for China may have been used for their gain of function research.

Sørensen and Dalgleish said that, while a natural virus would normally mutate “gradually” and become less pathogenic, and more infectious, that trend has not been apparently occurring with the Covid-19 pandemic. The study comes to the conclusion that “the likelihood of it [the virus] being the result of natural processes is very small.”

Netanyahu Challenge to Legality of Rival’s PM Bid Is Rebuffed

JERUSALEM—A last-gasp legal challenge by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to thwart a bid by a rival to head a new government was rejected on Tuesday as his opponents raced to seal a pact that would unseat him.

Naftali Bennett, Netanyahu’s former defense minister, announced on Sunday he would join a proposed alliance with opposition leader Yair Lapid, serving as its premier first under a rotation deal.

They have until Wednesday midnight local time to present a final pact to President Reuven Rivlin, who handed Lapid the task of forming a new government after Netanyahu failed to do so in the wake of a close election on March 23.

Hoping to beat the deadline, Lapid, Bennett, and other party leaders convened to clinch coalition agreements, sources briefed on the talks said.

In a letter to the legal counsels of the presidency and parliament, Netanyahu’s conservative Likud said Lapid was not authorized to cede the premiership to Bennett.

But Rivlin’s office said in response that there was no legal merit to Likud’s claim because Lapid would be sworn in as “alternate prime minister,” second to serve as premier as part of the rotation.

It accepted Likud’s argument that Lapid must provide the president with full details of the new government and not just announce that he has clinched a coalition deal.

Despite declining infection rates there is no time for the world to relax its fight against the coronavirus, leaders at the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) and in the U.S. warned Monday.

UPI reports W.H.O. Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, speaking at the World Health Assembly, cautioned against a “monumental error” to presume the danger of coronavirus is over as White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci joined him to declare the world can’t “declare victory prematurely.”

Fauci’s warning against any relaxation reprises a declaration he made in April for the public to get vaccinated and continue wearing masks, as Breitbart News reported.

Now Fauci has the backing of Tedros who conceded the U.N. agency is “very encouraged that cases and deaths are continuing to decline globally,” but it would be “a monumental error for any country to think the danger has passed.”

He urged all member nations to stay alert to the continuing dangers of emerging viral variants and support a new pandemic preparedness treaty, which would improve early warnings on potential global health threats, promote stockpiling and production of pandemic supplies, and “allow for equitable access to vaccines, tests and treatments.”

For his part, Fauci on Monday told the Guardian despite new U.S. cases falling to the lowest levels in 12 months, “We don’t want to declare victory prematurely because we still have a ways to go.

“As long as there is some degree of activity throughout the world, there’s always a danger of variants emerging and diminishing somewhat the effectiveness of our vaccines,” he said.

On Memorial Day in the United States, which marks the traditional start of the summer months, daily new cases had fallen to around 20,000 — half of what they were at the start of the month — as the number of U.S. vaccinations reached nearly 295 million.

As of Sunday, there have been 169.6 million confirmed cases of coronavirus globally and more than 3.5 million deaths, the W.H.O. reported. More than 1.54 billion vaccine doses have been administered worldwide.

Even so, Fauci urged Americans must remain vigilant and wary.

“We cannot abandon public health measures when you still have a degree of viral activity in the broad community in the United States,” he said. “Although we’re down to less than 30,000 infections per day that’s still a lot of infections per day.”

Gas Prices Surge Past $3 a Gallon as Summer Travel Season Begins, Oil Production Playing Catch Up

As the coronavirus pandemic ends and the summer travel season begins, consumers face gas prices surging past $3 a gallon for regular unleaded. Experts say high demand from people eager to get on the road again and oil production increases cause the highest gas prices since 2014.

According to AAA, the current average price is $3.045 a gallon for regular unleaded nationwide. That national average is up 14.3 cents per gallon from a week ago and $1.06 higher than a year ago.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, released a statement on gas prices.

“With the summer driving season now officially begun, gas prices have clung to a $3 per gallon average on continued strong demand as Americans take to the roads amidst a continued economic recovery,” De Haan said. “Through Sunday, U.S. gasoline demand was very strong over the weekend, with Friday and Sunday both setting new Covid records for gasoline consumption for their respective day of week, according to GasBuddy data.”

“While gasoline demand continues to recover, oil production has only slowly started gaining momentum after a very challenging 2020 forced oil companies to take several steps backward as prices and demand plummeted last year,” De Haan said. “While oil production is now moving in the right direction, we’re in catch up mode to searing hot gasoline demand, and the imbalance has pushed prices up notably.”

“For now, there’s little chance of a backslide in gas prices, but a larger chance that this summer could boast near-record gasoline demand as Americans hit the road, but remain mostly stuck to the U.S. due to overseas travel challenges that persist,” De Haan said.

As Breitbart News reported, in California gas prices at several fuel outlets are much higher with one gas station selling fuel for $6 a gallon:

The Mobil station across from the Beverly Center shopping mall, near Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, was selling regular unleaded gasoline for $5.29 and 9/10 per gallon on Monday evening, and “Super Plus” for $5.99 and 9/10 — self serve, without assistance or a car wash.

Those prices were unusually high, even for Los Angeles, where many stations charged between $4 and $5 per gallon over the holiday weekend, and the average is currently about $4.22 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.

According to AAA, the highest recorded average price was $4.114 in July 2008.

Joe Biden to Award Minority Owned Businesses 50 Percent More Contracts

President Joe Biden plans Tuesday to propose new rules that will award minority-owned businesses 50 percent more contracts, ignoring a fair bidding process to lessen the “racial wealth gap.”

“Under the Biden proposal, the administration would aim to increase the amount of federal contracting dollars given to small disadvantaged business by 50 percent over five years, amounting to an additional $100 billion in funding for those businesses,” the Hill reported.

The report also mentions nearly 10 percent of “federal agencies’ contracting money typically goes to small, disadvantaged businesses in a typical year.” Small, “disadvantaged” businesses includes minority-owned businesses.

The federal government picking winners and losers, based on “disadvantaged” status, the administration says, will “strongly impact lessening the racial wealth gap.”

The specific selection of certain businesses will reportedly extend federal purchasing power to those chosen businesses, giving them a competitive edge with businesses which are not minority owned or “disadvantaged.”

Build Back Better: Vaccinate the ‘Whole World’ by 2022, Says Boris Johnson

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called for the leading economic powers to help vaccinate the entire world against the Chinese coronavirus by the end of next year and said that the G7 nations should craft a global pandemic preparedness treaty to enshrine vaccine passports and other measures.

Ahead of the Group of Seven (G7) meeting in Cornwall, England later this month, the British Prime Minister said that he will be looking to come to agreements with heads of state of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States, and the European Union to confront future pandemics, officially codify global coronavirus measures, and to ship coronavirus vaccines to the developing world.

In an interview with Canada’s public broadcaster CBC, Mr Johnson said: “Nobody is safe until everybody is safe. What we want the G7 to try to agree to is that instead of vaccinating the whole world by 2024 or 2025, which is what we’d achieve on the current timetable, we need to get this done by the end of next year, by 2022.”

Arguing for the necessity of a globalist framework on pandemics going forward, the British leader said: “If you look at what happened in the world in 2020, it was a terrible year for humanity and it was a terrible year for the international system.

“It was a terrible year for believers in global cooperation because the world simply became balkanized and everybody was, it was sauve qui peut (French for panic). Everybody hung on to their stocks of PPE of protective equipment.”

“We need to have rules so that there can be no interruptions of supplies across borders so that we have secure supply chains for the things that we depend on in future,” he added.

Johnson said that the world is also going to need to come to an agreement on the issue of vaccine passports and “COVID status certifications”, saying: “There has to be some sort of agreement then, at the G7 level, to start, on how travel and passports are going to work going forward.”

“We have to make sure that fighting the next pandemic is a global enterprise,” Mr Johnson said.

Germany Investigates Coronavirus Testing Fraud

BERLIN (AP) – German authorities are investigating allegations of fraud involving the massive rollout of free coronavirus tests, which are being carried out now in converted cellphone stores, beauticians and art galleries across the country.

Germans have to present a negative test result in order to enter non-essential stores, visit restaurants or bars, or attend small-scale cultural events. The government pays for one free test per person each week, which has led to a proliferation of more than 15,000 businesses offering antigen tests that provide results within 20 minutes.

“There is the suspicion, a very well-founded suspicion after everything I’ve seen, that there’s also been fraud,” Jens Spahn, the country’s health minister, said Tuesday.

“There need to be criminal consequences,” he added, noting that prosecutors are investigating the allegations.

The issue has once again raised questions of who is accounting for the German government’s spending splurge in response to the pandemic.

Last year, numerous applicants seeking government support for businesses affected by the lockdown were found to have made fraudulent claims, leading to a tightening of rules and severe delays in payments as further checks were conducted.

Spahn said the government had spent about 660 million euros ($807 million) to cover the costs of providing up to 45 million free tests in a month – more than any other country in Europe. His ministry was unable to say how many of those tests came back positive.

Asian Police Seize $83 Million in Operation Against Online Financial Crime

Focusing on romance scams, online sextortion, investment fraud, voice phishing and money laundering associated with illegal online gambling, police in nine Asian countries arrested more than 500 suspects and seized US$83 million, Interpol said on Thursday.

Authorities worldwide have repeatedly warned that online fraud is continuing to increase and have stepped up joint efforts to fight it.

This operation, codenamed “HAECHI-I,” assembled law enforcement across Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Korea, Laos, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Between September 2020 and March 2021, they opened more than 1,400 investigations of online fraud and while many of the cases remain ongoing, Interpol said, 892 cases have been solved.

In total, 585 people were arrested and more than 1,600 bank accounts around the world were frozen throughout the course of the operation.

“Online fraudsters often attempt to exploit the borderless nature of the internet by targeting victims in other countries or transferring their illicit funds abroad,” Ilana de Wild, Interpol’s Director of Organized and Emerging Crime, said in a statement.

“The results of Operation HAECHI-I demonstrate that online financial crime is fundamentally global and that only through close international cooperation can we effectively combat these criminals,” she added.

In one case, back in February, a Korean company was approached by what they thought was a trading partner requesting payment of a series of invoices. The bank details on the invoices, however, had been fraudulently changed.

The company eventually transferred nearly US$7 million to the fraudster, which was routed to bank accounts in Indonesia and Hong Kong. Korean law enforcement later alerted Interpol’s financial crimes unit, and in collaboration, officers have intercepted and frozen half of the stolen funds while the investigation continues.

In another case of investment fraud known as a “ramp and dump” scheme, a criminal syndicate in Hong Kong purchased a large quantity of specific stocks in order to dramatically raise the share price, Interpol said.

The group then encouraged others on social media to invest in this upward trend. The syndicate later sold their stocks, profiting from the high price that soon after collapsed and leaving investors with significant losses.

Law enforcement froze problematic trading accounts and recovered the vast majority of the funds.

As reports that “ramp and dump” schemes have occurred in at least two other countries in the region, Interpol said, it plans to share this modus operandi with other countries that could be at risk.

Israeli Authorities Approve 560 Settlement Units in Bethlehem

Israeli occupation authorities have approved plans for the construction of hundreds of new settler units on Palestinian land in the West Bank city of Bethlehem, Wafa news agency reported.

The Director of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission office in Bethlehem, Hassan Brijieh, said the construction of 560 new settlement units in Mtsad settlement, built illegally on Palestinian land in the villages of Kisan and Al-Rashaydeh, located southeast of Bethlehem, were approved yesterday.

The decision comes days after occupation authorities approved building 90 new settlement units in Ebi Hanahal, built illegally on Kisan village land, noted Hassan.

Hassan added that Israel is targeting Bethlehem with plans to expand its illegal settlements, barring landowners and villagers from accessing their lands. The acceleration of settlement expansion, he added, is clearly aimed at taking control of the southern-eastern area for the benefit of linking settlements together.

Israel occupied the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in 1967.

Currently, more than 450,000 Israelis live in settlements in the territory, excluding occupied East Jerusalem, home to more than 2.8 million Palestinians.
