White House: US to Explain Spying on EU Leaders Via Security Channels With Allies
The United States will address the issue of spying on the European leaders, including the German chancellor Angela Merkel, and Denmark’s role in it through the national security channels with its allies, White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Tuesday.
"In 2014, the United States issued a thorough review of our approach to overseas surveillance, President Obama issued a presidential directive that changed our approach in significant ways. We will work with our European allies and partners to address any questions through the appropriate national security channels," Jean-Pierre said.
On Sunday, a European media investigation revealed that the Danish Defence Intelligence Service cooperated with the US intelligence operations that targeted the highest-ranking European officials, including Merkel, from 2012 to 2014.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron condemned such behaviour as unacceptable between allies.

Police accidentally gave domestic violence victim's phone data to her attacker
New South Wales Police handed a domestic violence victim's entire phone data to her perpetrator, a man who is also a senior member of an outlaw motorcycle gang, in a case which legal experts say could amount to serious misconduct.

The phone data included passwords, locations captured by GPS, 11 years' worth of photos and videos, personal diary notes and details of clandestine domestic violence services.
Police handed the information to the perpetrator, a man with over a dozen previous domestic violence-related charges, by mistake among other documents which he requested to defend his case in court.
The victim, Sydney woman Sophie Spittles, found out about the extraordinary breach of her privacy after her former partner messaged her with a sample of the information police gave him.
"I actually did fall to my knees because I knew this was huge and I knew this was going to really affect my life and this was going to shift it drastically," Ms Spittles said.
Upon learning about the breach, Ms Spittles confronted officers from Hornsby police station and recorded the conversation outside the station.
She told 7.30 that she was worried that if she did not record it, what happened to her may "get buried".

"This Is Not Acceptable": Macron Demands Explanation Why Obama Was Spying On Merkel
Once upon a time, not that long ago, the biggest outrage in the world of politics was the "shocking" revelation made possible by Edward Snowden's exposure of the NSA's deep state operations, that the Obama administration had a penchant for spying… on everyone, and especially its top allies such as Angela Merkel who BlackBerry was notorious breached by US spies (yes, even the ultra-partisan outlet CNN covered it "Obama administration spied on German media as well as its government").
Of course, the outrage eventually died down with nothing changing - after all, the US deep state can and will spy on anyone and everyone it chooses, and it's not like the president has any control over it, but over the weekend the story reemerged when in an investigative report on Sunday, Danish public broadcaster Danmarks Radio and other European media outlets "discovered" the the NSA had eavesdropped on Danish underwater internet cables from 2012 to 2014 to spy on top politicians in Germany, Sweden, Norway and France (we of course knew all this from Snowden's original NSA leak but let's pretend it's news).
The NSA was able to access (and accessed) text messages, telephone calls and internet traffic including searches, chats and messaging services – including those of Merkel, then-foreign minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and then-opposition leader Peer Steinbruck, DR said.
This, too, was not news, but since most don't remember yesterday's news cycle let alone that from 2013, European leaders had no choice but to address, which they did when the leaders of Europe, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, said that they expected the US and Danish governments to present explanations over allegations of spying by Washington on European allies with Copenhagen's aid (the alternative would give the impression that the US can do whatever it wants without any accountability to anyone… which of course is the correct impression).
"This is not acceptable between allies, and even less between allies and European partners," said Macron after a French-German summit meeting held via video conference between Paris and Berlin. "I am attached to the bond of trust that unites Europeans and Americans," Macron said, adding that "there is no room for suspicion between us".

Twitter Is Developing Three Different ‘Misinformation’ Warning Labels
Twitter is reportedly developing multiple “misinformation” labels, including “Get the latest,” “Stay informed,” and “Misleading.”
9to5Mac reports that Twitter is developing a number of misinformation labels. The company recently introduced the “read before you retweet” pop-up which warns users to think twice before sharing content in an attempt to reduce the spread of misinformation.
Now the Masters of the Universe are reportedly working on three new levels of misinformation warning labels including:
“Get the latest”
“Stay Informed”
Misleading
Researcher Jane Manchun Wong stated that Twitter will prompt one of the three warning labels depending on the tweet content. Wong stated that if she tweets for example: “Snorted 60 grams of dihydrogen monoxide and I’m not feeling so well now,” Twitter will show a label alongside the tweet stating “Get the latest” that will provide information about water (which is dihydrogen monoxide.)

If Wong tweets: “In 12 hours, darkness will ascend in parts of the world. Stay tuned.” Twitter will add a “Stay Informed” label noting that Wong is referring to the concept of timezones and not the end of the world.
In a final example, Wong tweeted: “We eat. Turtles eat. Therefore we are turtles,” which Twitter adds a “Misleading” label to since it’s a logical fallacy. This feature is an attempt by Twitter to reduce the spread of what it claims to be misinformation on its platform.
It’s currently unclear when this feature will launch or how effective it will be, but is a clear sign that Twitter is attempting to deal with heavy criticism in recent years.

Florida Gov. DeSantis: CDC ‘Absolutely’ Driven by Politics
JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) believes the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is “absolutely” driven by politics, causing the American people to lose faith in the federal agency, he told Breitbart News during an exclusive interview on Tuesday.
Speaking to Breitbart News after signing a bill to protect girls’ and women’s athletics, DeSantis said the CDC is “absolutely” driven by politics, providing one example that, he said, made that view “crystal clear.”
“You saw a lot of examples, but the one that was the most crystal clear to me was when we were getting ready to do vaccine distribution. They have their ACIP [Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices] panel. They wrote a report in November, I was probably the only governor who read it,” he said, explaining that the report was “mostly about social justice and inequity and all these left-wing buzz terms.”
“And they actually recommended, initially, that younger essential workers get vaccinated before elderly, and their own analysis said that would lead to significantly more deaths,” he said, explaining that they justified it based on “equity concerns.”
“So that’s ideology going in. We rejected the CDC guidelines on that. We put seniors first. We said if you’re 65 and over, we’re going to get it to you and we lowered the age from there,” he said. “But that is an example of, your own analysis is admitting it’s going to have a death toll. I mean, man you gotta be — your goal should be to save lives.”
DeSantis went on to say that the CDC has been “very contradictory” and criticized the federal agencies handling of schools, calling it “absolutely disgraceful.”
“Schools should have been open from the beginning of this past school year. Clearly, by the time Biden’s administration comes in, the data was abundantly clear, and instead what they do is they just ignore the data that counteracts the ideology, and so I do think it’s being driven more by narrative and ideology at this point, certainly with schools,” he said.
“Summer camps– they want these kids muzzled outdoors, playing sports in summer camps. It’s absolutely insane. I think there’s probably no agency in the federal government over the last 15 months that has seen the estimation by the public decline as significantly as the CDC,” he said.
“It’s unfortunate,” he continued, adding that, at this point, the American people have “tuned the CDC out.”

Bokhari: Facebook Should Reinstate Users Banned for ‘Lab Leak’ Coronavirus Theory
Facebook got it wrong. They’ve got it wrong on many other occasions and will get it wrong on many future occasions, of course, but this time is different — they’ve admitted they got it wrong.
The company recently backtracked on a longstanding policy of coronavirus-related censorship, saying it would no longer remove claims that the virus is man-made or lab manufactured.
As Breitbart News’s Simon Kent reported, this occurred on the same day that President Biden ordered intelligence agencies to increase efforts to discover the cause of the virus:
The policy change came on the same day President Joe Biden ordered U.S. intelligence agencies to “redouble their efforts” to investigate the origin of the virus, despite ending a State Department investigation under former President Donald Trump seeking the same goal, as Breitbart News reported.
Facebook released a memo detailing its new stance, pointing to “ongoing investigations” as reason for its change of heart while adding the proviso other restrictions remain.
Conservative media has also been investigating the “lab leak hypothesis,” the theory that the Wuhan coronavirus originated in a lab, and most likely spread as a result of a leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology since the beginnings of the pandemic in 2020. The Trump administration investigated the possibility that the virus originated in a Chinese bioweapons lab, via a State Department investigation.
Yet the mainstream media, in collusion with the tech giants, did everything it could to close off this line of inquiry. In January 2020, at the very start of the outbreak, Twitter blacklisted an entire news organization, ZeroHedge, for investigating links between the Wuhan Institute and the virus (the ban, which Twitter initially said was permanent, was later reversed).
Only now, after approval from the Biden administration, is Big Tech backtracking.
But what about all the people who were censored? What about all the people who were banned? Is Facebook going to apologize to them? Is it going to reinstate the banned accounts?
Probably not, because one of the new rules of Silicon Valley appears to be: you aren’t allowed to be right before the media and Democrats are. You have to wait for them to catch up — and only then can you discuss the likely truth without the risk of censorship.
We can only imagine how many other “conspiracy theories” and items of “misinformation” that Facebook will, in time, realize are actually true.

Ryanair Bomb Threat In Belarus - 'Western' Media Narrative Disagrees With The Facts
There is still a bit more to learn about the Ryanair flight 4978 from Greece to Lithuania which on May 23 diverted to Minsk after a bomb thread against the plane had been received by several regional airports.
The west has waged a media war over the case claiming that Belarus had invented the bomb threat to capture a Belorussian dissident who was on board. However it is clear that the bomb threat happened and that Belarus acted on it by the book. The quick implementation of a deceiving western narrative lets me believe that the bomb threat was initiated by those who oppose Belarus. It was probably managed by one of those British narrative managers who also wrote the books for the Skripal and Navalny Novichok dramas.
But there are few actual facts to support the narrative. Its 'truth' must thus be constructed by bending the facts to fit the intended story.
An example is this Reuters report which was published on Friday:
DUBLIN (Reuters) - Belarusian air traffic control refused a request by a Ryanair pilot to contact the airline after being told of an alleged bomb threat, leaving him with no alternative but to land in Minsk, the Irish carrier said in a letter seen by Reuters.
Belarus scrambled a warplane on Sunday and used the bomb alert, which turned out to be fictitious, to divert the flight, which was en route from Greece to Lithuania. When it landed in Minsk, a dissident journalist and his girlfriend were arrested.
In a letter to the Belarus transport ministry dated May 26, Ryanair Chief Executive described previous correspondence from Belarusian officials as "false and inaccurate" and said the plane had been "unlawfully diverted under false pretences".
"The pilot in command was left with no alternative but to divert to Minsk, when he was advised by Minsk ATC (Air Traffic Control) that there was a credible bomb threat to the aircraft, yet Minsk ATC refused to contact Ryanair, falsely claimed that Ryanair Ops would not answer the phone," the letter said.
The bold claims are misleading or false.They are not supported by facts but fit the intended narrative.
A day earlier Reuters had published what it called excerpts from the transcript of the radio traffic between the Air Traffic Controller and the airplane. There is nothing in it about a refusal of a request by the Ryanair pilot to contact the airline.
Even in the complete transcript of the radio traffic, published by the Belorussian air authority, there is no request by the pilot to contact the airline.
