Remember when Fredo Cuomo was in a fake quarantine? When interviewing Fauci, Fauci said he called Fredo everyday.
CNN's Cuomo, Fauci spoke daily during anchor's coronavirus illness: 'I was worried about you'
BY JOE CONCHA - 05/05/20 10:44 AM EDT
CNN's Chris Cuomo said Monday night that Anthony Fauci checked on him "almost without exception, every day" to make sure he was OK while ill from coronavirus in April.
“I have spoken to you, almost without exception, every day,” Cuomo said to Fauci, a key member of the White House coronavirus task force, on his CNN prime-time show. “And you have been calling me out of personal concern to make sure that I was OK, my wife was OK, my son was OK. Eleven o’clock at night. Later. Waiting for my show to end. Saturday. Sunday."
“You were going through some difficult times,” Fauci said in response. “I don’t think that people were really experiencing or realizing how you were really sucking it up to look relatively normal. But when you finished the show, when we started chatting at 11, 11:30 at night, you were wiped out."
"I cared about you, but I was worried about you. That’s the reason why I kept calling," Fauci, who also serves as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, later added.
“I appreciate it,” Cuomo responded. “I really do."

Cuomo shared on March 31 he had tested positive for COVID-19, but still did his weekday prime-time program from his basement while battling its effects, which included fever and shivering. His wife and 14-year-old son also tested positive for the virus in April.
Cuomo, 49, announced last month after being cleared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that he planned to donate blood in the hope his antibodies can be used to help those still fighting the virus.
The anchor didn't disappear from the spotlight during his quarantine, sparking controversy by traveling from his home in the Hamptons to visit another home under construction in East Hampton, N.Y., on Easter.
A 65-year-old bicyclist questioned Cuomo about leaving his home, and later filed a police report, saying he felt the CNN anchor had threatened him.

Cuomo talked about the back-and-forth on his SiriusXM program, "Let's Get After It," on Apr. 13.
"I want to be able to tell you to go to hell, to shut your mouth," Cuomo said. “I don’t want some jackass, loser, fat-tire biker being able to pull over and get in my space and talk bullshit to me. I don’t want to hear it.”
Two other CNN anchors, Brooke Baldwin and Richard Quest, have also tested positive for COVID-19, with Baldwin returning to her program late last month.
