Texas STAAR test is a standardized crap test for school kids that is a MEASUREMENT OF THE TEACHER, NOT THE KIDS.

I'll say that again: it is a test for kids that measures the teacher's performance.

Yet, in certain grades, if a kid did not pass the STAAR, they could not pass to the next grade level or graduate, even though they had passed all required courses. This led to schools teaching nothing but the STAAR test content in Texas, and stopped teaching academics.

They are not going to be let off with a cookie and a hug, or they will never internalize the lesson enough to never let it happen again. It's because of their blind, lazy stupidity and lackadaisical attitude that it went to such a mess. They need the emotional and psychological sum of their actions to smack them square in the face or we will be right back where we started.

That doesn't mean we don't stand by in support, but they don't get out of taking responsibility for their jerkness.
