Remember those times, when you were a kid? You'd get chills then a fever, and maybe have a burning itchy throat. Mom would take your temperature with the little glass thermometer, then go call the doctor. You'd puke a few times and drink the glasses of water that Mom made you take. You'd get to the doctor's office, they would take your vitals, and he would put that tongue depressor back there to take a look. Maybe take a swab culture.
After 15 minutes, he would come back in with the nurse. She would have a syringe. Shit. He would explain how this is the season for _, and it is going around, but this shot of _ would fix you right up. You'd have to bare your behind, and they'd jab you with that thing and it hurt like a mo fo.
But then you'd get the lollipop, and stay home from school for 2 days! Mom would bring some comic books and you'd get to drink Ginger Ales or Cokes during the daytime. You were positive 100% that the doctor could be trusted, the nurse could be trusted, the shot could be trusted, and your Mom knew what was best. Sure as shootin', in 2 days you would be right as rain, and ready to get back to your life.
Yeah I remember those days of trust. I will never forgive them for ruining that trust. Imagine the mental angst today's children will face, never knowing what political agenda is behind the things they are told to take, or told to do. How will we ever trust again? I don't like having to research every fucking thing under the sun for myself, but that is the world they have given us.
