You completely ignore the man-on-the-street fungible aspect of national currency.

Why is it that many companies that allow bitcoin payments

charge MORE? It's not just the conversion costs.

Rampant inflation aside you know when you have $10 in your pocket today

you can buy $10 worth of goods today, tomorrow, next week

everybody respects the value of that $10.

Bitcoin requires (as mentioned above) negotiation on it's value today

today's negotiations have nothing to do with tomorrow, must re-negotiate

and the next day and the next week.

Bitcoin is not new,

yet what does EVERY country use when they buy oil?

USD

why?

it's fungible, 1 million barrels of oil today is worth about the same tomorrow

Oil price fluctuates - can be a little or a lot

USD fluctuates a little

Bitcoin - who knows what happens tomorrow?

… it sucks.

(And have we considered the threat of quantum computing

  • if realized block chain protection is lost.)
