On May 27, the the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation band put out a press release that shook the world, and also left us with more questions than answers about the magnitude of what was actually discovered. Kúkpi7 Chief Rosanne Casimir stated that the remains of 215 former students of the Kamloops, B.C. Indian residential school had been found, through the use of ground-penetrating radar.

The heartbreaking story quickly made front-page news across the world. Canada lowered its flags to half-mast to stand in solidarity with the First Nations community. But some of the stories that spread far and wide were not based on facts, even when stated by sources with great influence such as politicians and mainstream media.

For example, how were the remains buried? Is the discovery a mass grave, or a cemetery that had been lost in time? How was the precise number of the remains of 215 children arrived at with the specified technology, and will a thorough investigation be done to help determine the cause of death of those who were forgotten beneath the soil?

I drove out to Kamloops, along with my cameraman Matt, to try and answer some of these questions. But for whatever reason, almost all of the usual journalistic avenues a reporter would pursue all led back to the elected chief.

I have not heard back from the band about an official statement, nor was I able to interview Chief Rosanne Casimir, but I was fortunate enough to get more insight about what may have happened to those whose remains have been found, and even got to learn from two elders who attended the Kamloops Indian Residential School for many years. The discovery has been understandably difficult for many, including the elders we spoke to, as it is a reminder of Canada’s dark history of residential schools including the kidnapping, stripping away of culture, and abuse of innocent indigenous children.

CBSA has “urgent need” to biometrically track 23M Canadians

Exit Information Regulations will see the Agency use computer chips embedded in new passports to monitor every citizen who travels out of Canada. In-house research identified widespread opposition to the program.

“Future initiatives will include a consent-based model to ensure travelers understand how their information is collected, used, retained and disclosed,” said Louis-Carl Brissette Lesage, spokesperson for the Agency. Costs were not disclosed.

The Notice of Proposed Procurement posted to the government's procurement site describes the need for the office as “urgent”:

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has an urgent need to secure the services of a global organization (the “Contractor”) with knowledge of and expertise in biometrics. The Agency requires this organization to assist with the immediate establishment of an Office of Biometrics and Identity Management and to work with the Agency in researching, planning for and rapidly developing a strategy and roadmap related to the use of Digital solutions enabled by supporting technologies in biometrics, in response to the COVID 19 situation and other operational priorities.

The Contractor will bring knowledge, capabilities, and experience to support CBSA’s urgent need to establish a biometric strategy, biometric foundation and ultimately a Biometrics Authority (Centre of Excellence). Specifically, the “contractor” will assist the CBSA with the development of a comprehensive approach and plan to manage, evolve and adapt in using biometrics to deliver the mission of the agency while considering our interrelationship and joint ventures with other federal government departments and agencies and our international partners.

Canada is a great country, it’s a country worth celebrating.

A statement like that used to be banal and universal. Not too long ago, there was a general consensus not just among the political parties, but prevalent throughout Canadian society, that we lived in a pretty special place.

“The world needs more Canada” was once the slogan of Canadian book giant Indigo/Chapters, and the phrase was repeated by global celebrities like Barack Obama and U2 frontman Bono.

But that was a simpler time. All the way back in 2017, the world hadn’t yet been steamrolled by the woke mob pushing cancel culture and strict intellectual conformity.

The simplistic “woke” narrative goes something like this: western culture is nothing but a hierarchy of power, where everybody falls into one of two categories: oppressor or oppressed.

All individuals are reduced down to a few biological traits: skin colour, gender and sexual orientation.

Straight white males are always the oppressors and everyone else falls into the other category unless they are pitted against someone even more oppressed. Women are oppressed, unless they are white and in the presence of a non-white man. In that instance, the white woman is the oppressor. But if the non-white man is in the presence of a non-white woman, then he is the oppressor. Unless the non-white woman is a police officer. In which case, she is the oppressor.

Ironically, they’ve developed their own hierarchy: people move up or down the chain of oppression depending on the whims of the Twitter mob.

That is how newly-woke Conservative MP Michelle Rempel sought redemption last week after being unfairly blamed for playing a role in putting Canadian Muslims in danger.

“Yes,” she wrote, “I humble myself and ask forgiveness… I have privilege; I am cis/straight/white. But I am also a woman who works in a system dominated by white maleness.”

In other words, yes I’m awful because of my skin colour, but don’t forget, I’m a victim too!

According to the woke, everyone and everything is viewed through the lens of race, and anyone who doesn’t bow down to the woke mantra gets mobbed, bullied and ultimately canceled.

The only people spared from this fate are those who bend a knee, acknowledge their privilege and pledge to be re-educated in the woke ideology. It’s worked for good liberals like Justin Trudeau and Prince Harry. I’m not so sure it will save Conservatives seeking strange new respect, like Rempel Garner.

The ultimate goal of the woke mob is to tear down what they call hierarchies of power, essentially dismantling every institution in our society.

Canada seems to be ground zero for this new uprising.

And our founding Prime Minister, Sir John A. MacDonald, has so far bore the brunt of this moral panic. His statues have been defaced and removed from public squares, his name removed from university buildings, his biography erased from the Government of Canada website.

Sir John A is not alone.

As Alberta Premier Kenney correctly predicted, “the reckoning won’t stop with Sir John A.” If holding historical leaders to today’s evolving woke standards continues, then the entire “founding leadership of our country gets cancelled,” said Kenney.

In the past week alone, the woke mob has set its sights on renaming British Columbia, destroying a statue of Ryerson University’s namesake and cancelling Canada Day.

Rather than trying to appease a deranged woke mob, Canadians should stand their ground, defend our history (while learning from it, of course) and maintain some perspective.

Our country isn’t perfect, no country is. But Canada gets the big things right. That’s why we should celebrate Canada, not tear it apart.

I’ve known for well over a year now that we had an effective treatment for Covid-19. Hundreds of thousands of Americans could have been saved.

I knew about this simple, safe, inexpensive treatment with remarkable results because I’ve had a dozen brilliant doctors as guests on my nationally-syndicated radio show, “Wayne Allyn Root: Raw & Unfiltered” on USA Radio Network, to talk about their success using HCQ (hydroxychloroquine) on patients sick with Covid-19.

But one stood out over all others. His name is Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, M.D. Here is an excerpt from my national newspaper column from a year ago- syndicated in July 2020 by Creators Syndicate. It was written as a plea to President Trump…

“Mr. President, this is the most important column I’ve ever written. We have a successful treatment for Covid-19. Now we need an Executive Order from you to put it into play.

This brilliant New York doctor (Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, MD) has treated 2,200 Covid-19 patients. He’s had a success rate of 100% for low-risk patients…and a success rate of 99.3% for high-risk patients from using Hydroxychloroquine, zinc sulfate, plus Z Pak antibiotic. He has named it “the Zelenko Protocol.” It’s the synergy that works. Without zinc and Z Pak, the drug hydroxychloroquine doesn’t work as effectively.

The other key to success is to use this 3-part protocol within five days of symptoms appearing. It has to be used early, before the patient winds up in the ICU. That’s why several studies of Hydroxychloroquine have failed. They never used zinc sulfate and they started the protocol too late.

If only President Trump had listened to Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, instead of Dr. Fauci, and the corrupt bureaucrats of the CDC, WHO and FDA. That was a year ago. How many hundreds of thousands of Americans have died needlessly in the past year? Isn’t this mass murder?

Have you seen the latest headlines? Multiple studies show that the use of HCQ (hydroxychloroquine) across the globe reduced death and boosted survival rates by 84%, 100% and in one study 200%. HCG really works. And that’s without what Dr. Zelenko calls “the key ingredient” (zinc sulfate). He also recommends another highly effective drug called Ivermectin.

Because of Dr. Zelenko, I’ve informed my listeners about HCQ, zinc and Ivermectin for a year now.

Yet even with all these new studies and factual evidence, YouTube just hours ago suspended US Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) for promoting a video touting early treatment with HCQ and Ivermectin. YouTube called it “medical misinformation.”

It’s time to start asking why treatments for Covid-19 proven in multiple studies around the world to save lives, are slandered, censored and banned by social media? Who are they to ban life saving information? Who are they to label life-saving information as “medical misinformation”? What’s in it for them if thousands die needlessly? Somebody clearly is getting filthy rich on this scam.

I asked Dr. Zelenko about it on a return visit to my show only days ago. He said, “Prehospital treatment of Covid-19 was intentionally suppressed. Life-saving information and medication was intentionally suppressed…out of 600,000 dead Americans we could have saved 510,000. The American people have been brutalized and are the victims of mass murder and crimes against humanity.”

I asked Dr. Zelenko for his solution to this on-going tragedy? He said, “Number one, immediately endorse pre-hospital treatment with the Zelenko Protocol and make it the standard of care. Number two, we must bring these criminals to justice.”

Reporter Who Broke Clinton-Lynch Tarmac Story And Received 'Significant' Death Threats Found Dead

The body of a Birmingham, Alabama journalist who broke the story about the controversial 2016 tarmac meeting in Phoenix between former President Bill Clinton and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch was found on Saturday morning of an 'apparent suicide,' according to AL.com.

45-year-old Christopher Sign - a news anchor at ABC 33/40 in Birmingham, was discovered at around 8 a.m. by Hoover police and fire personnel, according to the report.

"Our deepest sympathy is shared with Christopher’s loving family and close friends. We have lost a revered colleague who’s indelible imprint will serve forever as a hallmark of decency, honesty and journalist integrity. We can only hope to carry on his legacy. May his memory be for blessing," said ABC 33/40 Vice President and General Manager Eric Land in a statement.

The tarmac bombshell, which gave the appearance that Bill Clinton was privately pleading his wife's email case after then-FBI James Comey launched a new investigation, is thought to have contributed to Hillary Clinton's loss in 2016.

Sign, meanwhile, had complained last year of receiving 'significant' death threats, having his credit cards hacked, and creating code-words to use with his children.

Sign, an Emmy-award winning reporter, made national headlines over the June 27, 2016 tarmac meeting at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport amid the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of an unauthorized server. The meeting between Clinton and Lynch occurred days before Comey announced that the bureau would not press charges against Hillary - after the agency changed internal language describing Clinton's conduct from "gross negligence" to "extremely careless."

"Gross negligence" is a legal term of art in criminal law often associated with recklessness. According to Black's Law Dictionary, gross negligence is A severe degree of negligence taken as reckless disregard," and "Blatant indifference to one's legal duty, other's safety, or their rights. "Extremely careless," on the other hand, is not a legal term of art.

In addition to the "gross negligence" → "extremely careless" edit (performed by disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok), the FBI removed a key justification for elevating Clinton's actions to the standard of "gross negligence" - that being the "sheer volume" of classified material on Clinton's server. In the original draft, the "sheer volume" of material "supports an inference that the participants were grossly negligent in their handling of that information."

Also removed from Comey's statement were all references to the Intelligence Community's involvement in investigating Clinton's private email server, as well as changing the language to downgrade the probability that Clinton's server was hacked by hostile actors, changing their language from "reasonably likely" to "possible" - an edit which eliminated yet another justification for the phrase "Gross negligence." To put it another way, "reasonably likely" means the probability of a hack due to Clinton's negligence is above 50 percent, whereas the hack simply being "possible" is any probability above zero.

In short, Bill Clinton's tarmac meeting appears to have had quite the effect on his wife's investigation, despite the fact that she still lost. And now the guy who broke the story is dead.

Hackers Stole Nearly 26 Million User Login Credentials for Sites Like Amazon, Google, Facebook

Hackers using a custom Trojan-type malware stole nearly 26 million login credentials - emails or usernames and associated passwords - from almost a million websites over a two year period, including from such namesakes as Amazon, Facebook, and Twitter, according to cybersecurity provider NordLocker.

The malware infiltrated over 3 million Windows-based computers between 2018 and 2020, with the cyber intruders making off with around 1.2 terabytes of personal information, according to a case study carried out by NordLocker in partnership with a third-party firm specializing in data breach analysis.

The 26 million stolen login credentials were across twelve different website types, including social media, online gaming, and email services. They included such household names as Google (1.54 million), Facebook (1.47 million), Amazon (0.21 million), Apple (0.13 million), Netflix (0.17 million), and PayPal (0.15 million).

In addition to login credentials, the stolen data includes 1.1 million unique email addresses, over 2 billion cookies, and 6.6 million files that users were storing on their desktops and in their downloads folders.

The stolen cookies, which can in some cases give access to a victim’s online accounts, were sorted into five groups: online marketplace, online gaming, file sharing site, social media, and video streaming services.

The billions of stolen cookies were associated with such sites as YouTube (17.1 million), Facebook (8.1 million), Twitter (5.2 million), Amazon (3.5 million), MediaFire (3.2 million), and eBay (2 million).

The malware mainly targeted web browsers to steal the data, with the top three software sources for stolen email/usernames plus passwords being Google Chrome (19.4 million), Mozilla FireFox (3.3 million), and Opera (2 million).

Besides stealing files, the malware also took screenshots of infected computers and photos using its webcam.

The malware was transmitted by email and pirated software, including illegal versions of Adobe Photoshop 2018 and a number of cracked games.

The report comes amid warnings from administration officials that cyberattacks of various types are on the rise.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo said last week that the number of cyber intrusions will only increase in the future, and urged businesses to shore up their cybersecurity systems.

“We should assume and businesses should assume that these attacks are here to stay and if anything will intensify,” Raimondo said in an interview with ABC.

Her remarks followed a June 3 letter from Anne Neuberger, a cybersecurity adviser at the National Security Council, who warned business leaders about the growing risk of ransomware attacks and urged them to beef up security measures.

“The threats are serious and they are increasing,” Neuberger said in the letter obtained by media outlets.

The officials’ warnings come after a number of recent high-profile cyberattacks, including one targeting Colonial Pipeline last month, leading to a disruptive shutdown and gasoline shortages, and another targeting JBS, America’s biggest beef producer.

AstraZeneca's COVID Jab Should Be Halted For People Over 60: EMA

On Friday, the European Medicines Agency's (EMA) safety committee identified another rare blood condition after people taking AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine and said it was examining cases of heart inflammation after inoculation. By Sunday, the head of the EMA health threats said people over 60 should avoid the Astrazeneca vaccine, according to Reuters.

EMA safety committee on Friday said that capillary leak syndrome is a new side effect after taking AstraZeneca's vaccine. There's been widespread skepticism surrounding the AstraZeneca vaccine for months due to rare and deadly blood clots.

Even though EMA considers the vaccine safe for all ages, several EU member states have halted administering it to people in the 55 to 65 range due to blood clotting. To date, 78 million doses of AstraZeneca's vaccine shots have been given in the EU and U.K.

"In a pandemic context, our position was and is that the risk-benefit ratio remains favorable for all age groups," Marco Cavaleri, head of health threats and vaccine strategy at EMA, told Italian newspaper La Stampa.

Cavaleri told the local paper that since infections are declining and the younger population is less exposed to virus-related risks, it would be better to use RNA (​mRNA) vaccines, such as Moderna and the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines.

Asked whether the AstraZeneca vaccine should be avoided for people over 60. He said, "Yes, and many countries, such as France and Germany, are considering it in the light of greater availability of mRNA vaccines."

On Friday, Italian health regulators said the AstraZeneca vaccine would be restricted to people over 60 after a teenager was administered the vaccine and died from a blood cot.

While American lawmakers have taken steps to shield US pharma companies from any legal blowback caused by COVID vaccines, drugmakers in Europe haven't been so lucky.

Months ago, the family of an Italian woman who died from a case of vaccine-linked clots sued the vaccine company.

Last week, German scientists may have pinpointed these blood clots' cause, which can be eliminated with a relatively easy tweak.

Regulators first began examining these unusual blood clots cases in April and now are suggesting people over 60 should avoid AstraZeneca.

Deputy prime minister Chrystia Freeland told media that Parliament must pass the Liberal budget bill in order for women in the Canadian Armed Forces to know their sexual harassment complaints are being “taken seriously”.

On Saturday, two senior military leaders were exposed as having joined former chief of defence staff Gen. Jonathan Vance on a golfing trip on June 2 as Vance remains under investigation for allegations of sexual misconduct.

Vance's golfing partners were Vice Chief of the Defence Staff Lt.-Gen. Mike Rouleau, who has oversight on the military police currently investigating the allegations against Vance, and Royal Canadian Navy commander Vice-Admiral Craig Baines.

Vice-Admiral Craig Baines apologized on Sunday night for his “public display of support” the day after several news outlets reported on the outing.

During a press conference this morning, Global News reporter Amanda Connolly asked Freeland about the golf trip, and whether she agreed that senior military leaders believe that they're “untouchable”:

“I learned about this, uh, over the weekend, as did the rest of our government. Uh, I was very disappointed, very surprised, I think this showed very poor judgment, uh, and I absolutely understand and sympathize with the sentiment that men and women, but maybe especially women serving in the Canadian Armed Forces, uh, have — having seen this, and the concerns that it causes them to have about the possibility of, uh, real fairness for them

“Uh, let me be clear — with Canadians and maybe particularly Canadian women — uh, there needs to be a real change in culture, in the Canadian Armed Forces, it is totally unacceptable for anyone, for any Canadian woman, or let me say specifically, Canadian men too, but Canadian women who serve our country in uniform must not be subject to sexual harassment.

“To any kind of sexual abuse, at work, and they need to know that if harassment or abuse happens, there is a clear fair objective way that their complaints, clear objective impartial way that their complaints will be addressed. Our government is acting on this, there is money in the budget, which we're talking about today, which we want to have passed to fund further work on the creation of a system to protect and support the Canadian women of the Armed Forces against sexual harassment.

Justin Trudeau stated over the weekend that Rouleau and Baines need to “answer those questions for themselves” and that the Minister of Defence is “following up” on the trip with the Acting Chief of the Defence Staff.

When asked if Freeland shares the view that this is the “Old Boy's Club” in action, Freeland responded that there needs to be a “big change in culture” at the CAF:

“I've said, Amanda, that I was surprised and disappointed by this. It shows very poor judgement, and sends entirely the wrong message to the whole country first and foremost, people who serve in the Canadian Armed Forces, and I just want to say directly to the people who serve in the Canadian Armed Forces, our government knows there needs to be a big change in culture, and we know that people who are being harassed need to be able to speak out, need to have a system where they know their complaints will be taken seriously, will be treated impartially, and fairly.”

London attack suspect to face terrorism charges

A man who ran over a Muslim family in London, Ont. earlier this month will be facing terrorism charges.

On Monday morning, 20-year-old Nathaniel Veltman appeared before a court in London. At the appearance, Federal Crown attorney Sarah Shaikh said that prosecutors have been allowed to proceed with terrorism charges.

Provincial Crown attorney Jennifer Moser said that she has also been cleared to proceed on charges already laid.

Veltman is already facing four counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder in connection with the attack.

As Veltman did not have legal counsel at the time of his appearance in court Monday, the case was postponed until June 21.

On June 6, the Afzaal family was out for a walk when a pickup truck drove off the curb and hit them. Four family members died, including both parents, while the nine-year-old son was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

According to London police, Veltman deliberately rammed his truck into the family.

London police had previously suggested that the victims were targeted because of their faith.

“There is evidence that this was a planned, premeditated act and that the family was targeted because of their Muslim faith,” London Police Service Chief Steve Williams previously said.

Police have not found any connection between Veltman and known hate groups and believe he acted alone.

Since his arrest, new details have come to light suggesting Veltman may have been mentally unstable.

A previous CTV report, which has since been removed, described how Veltman was “medicated for mental illness,” with court documents from Veltman’s parents’ 2016 divorce suggesting that Veltman was “combative and argumentative” as a minor.

Canadians and family members are mourning Const. Shelby Patton, after he was killed in the line of duty in Saskatchewan over the weekend.

On Saturday, Const. Patton was hit by a stolen truck in Wolseley, Sask. A man and a woman were later arrested and charged with manslaughter.

Speaking to CBC, grandmother Linda Patton said that Const. Patton was a kind-hearted person who always put others first.

“He wouldn’t harm anyone, that’s the type of person he was and he’d do anything for you,” she said.

“To me, he’s the best. The best type of person you can ever deal with.”

According to the RCMP, Const. Patton served his entire time in the RCMP at the Indian Head detachment east of Regina, where he was well known in the close-knit rural community.

“I just can’t say nice enough things about him. It’s hard too, because he was such a thoughtful person,” Patton said.

The death of the young officer is being felt across the country, with law enforcement agencies across Canada putting out statements in solidarity with his family and Saskatchewan RCMP.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe put out a statement praising Const. Patton and thanking him for his sacrifice.

“It is with tremendous sorrow that Saskatchewan mourns the loss of RCMP Constable Shelby Patton, who was killed in the line of duty this morning,” Moe said.

“Our grief is only matched by our tremendous gratitude to Constable Patton for his service, and to every police officer who serves and protects us every day.”

Moe was joined by federal Public Safety Minister Bill Blair and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, both of whom took to social media to share their sympathy with Const. Patton’s family and loved ones.

London attack was “act of terror," says Chrystia Freeland

Canada's deputy prime minister Chrystia Freeland told media that it's “important for us to name” the London, Ont. attack as “an act of terror” and as an "act of Islamophobia."

Nathaniel Veltman stands accused of deliberately killing four members of the same Muslim family by hitting them with his truck on June 6.

The comments pre-emptively identifying the attack as terrorism were made during a press conference on the Liberal budget earlier this morning with Freeland and House Leader Pablo Rodriguez.

When asked by CBC reporter Tom Parry if “all parties need to do better” on fighting Islamophobia, Freeland gave a lengthy reply while choking back tears:

“Ah, thank you for the question Tom, I'm not sure, there was a little bit of static on my line at the beginning but I think I got the gist of it.

“Um, look, uh, the absolutely horrific killing act of terrorism in London, Ontario, needs to be taken extremely seriously by all Canadians. And particular those of us who are not racialized, those of us who are not Muslim, need to really understand that Islamophobia exists in our country, that white supremacism exists in our country, that terrorist attacks happen in our country, which is so wonderful, but still flawed.

“Terrorists attacks targeting Muslim Canadians happen in Canada. And we all need to take that very, very seriously. And we need to work very very hard to end Islamophobia and to stand up against white supremacism. Of course, that is a job for government. Of course, that is the job for all political leaders across the country, but I think it's more than that. I think this is a job for every single Canadian, and something that we all need to work on together. Um, I'm glad that our government has taken some meaningful steps in this direction, you know, with hindsight, I'm glad that as foreign minister I spoke at the UN Security Council and used the words 'Islamophobia' and 'white supremacism' and said these were terrorist threats.

“I'm sorry, so sorry that the attacks showed that to be right. But I want to say, speaking for our government, we absolutely appreciate the job is not done, there is a lot more we need to do, uh, we are listening really hard to our Muslim colleagues, to our Muslim constituents, and I want to say to them: We absolutely are with you, and as a country we need to do much much better. As a government, we are committed to working with you to make that change happen.”

When asked if her comments that Parliament is “toxic” signal that it's time for an election, Rodriguez answered first: “We're not talking about an election on our side, that's for sure.”

CityNews' Cormac Mac Sweeney brought the issue up later in the conference, asking Freeland for a reaction on the news that domestic terrorism charges have been laid against the suspect of the London attack, and whether the federal government was willing to add more financial support to a proposed national summit on Islamophobia.

“…again on the terrorist attack in London, I think it is really important for us to name it as an act of terror, it is important for us to identify this as act of Islamophobia, and it is important for us to identify the terrible threat that white supremacism poses to Canada and to Canadians.

“Uh, [inaudible] it's important for the courts and the judicial process to do its work. And uh, I think that, you know the fact that the anti-Islamophobia summit is now going to happen is a really important step. The federal government has already invested in the fight against Islamophobia and against white supremacism. As I said earlier today, clearly, there is a lot more work to do. And we're going to continue to do that work. And we must. It's a real, real priority. And I believe it's a priority for the whole country, this definitely goes beyond politics.

Arson suspected in fire at 204-year-old Anglican church on Six Nations reserve

St John’s Tuscaroras, an Anglican church on Six Nations of the Grand River, was set on fire this weekend, with one congregant telling media that he believes it's connected to the discovery of graves at the Kamloops Indian Residential School.

John Anderson told Turtle Island News that he believes the burning of the 204-year-old church was related to the findings in B.C., but noted that "this is an Anglican church not Catholic." The Kamloops residential school was opened under Roman Catholic administration in 1890, and operated until 1969.

Six Nations of the Grand River, which is southwest of Hamilton, Ontario and near Caledonia, is the site of an ongoing illegal roadblock featuring native activists and Antifa allies.

The Ontario Fire Marshal suspects that the fire, which started at approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday morning, was arson.

Anderson said that congregants will meet next weekend to discuss what to do with the remaining structure.

Church elder Ron Monture also believes that the fire is related to the Kamloops school. "I understand there is anger towards the churches," he said, but added that his parents are buried in the church's cemetery.

Alberta health minister Tyler Shandro praised the province's $3,000,000 COVID-19 vaccine lottery as an “investment,” but couldn't answer a question about whether it would be possible to win a payout without having to provide personal medical records.

Premier Jason Kenney announced the Open For Summer lottery over the weekend, which will hand out three $1,000,000 cash prizes to Albertans who have received, or have signed up for at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine.

Shandro gave prepared remarks defending the lottery in a press conference with Kenney:

“For those who think that $3,000,000 seems [like] a lot, we're spending this money to ensure widespread immunity that benefits every Albertan.

“Whether you're entering the draw or not, getting the vaccine or not, you are benefitting every Albertan whether you've entered the lottery or not.

“And COVID has already cost us billions. And this lottery is aimed at reducing the cost going forward. To individual Albertans who are still at risk of getting sick, and to all of us… as a province.

“Now this is an investment in Albertans, and in our province's future. We need to beat the virus once and for all.

“And like we've done throughout the pandemic, we've watched the real time results from other jurisdictions as they also, like we do, grapple with COVID-19. Including those who've launched vaccine lotteries like Ohio, like California, and several other states, and as well most recently Manitoba.

“The early evidence is in, and lotteries can help boost vaccination rates. Now we need to… clear this last hurdle, and I'm confident that we have it in us to sprint to the finish line.”

Later in the press conference, Shandro admitted that with current rules, it might be possible to win the lottery draw without even having received a dose of the vaccine.

"We wanted to make administration as simple as possible and we didn't want to be collecting personal health information…

"Many of us had already had vaccines without consent being collected to be able to [enter] the lottery. So the easiest thing was for people to just enter with a minimal amount of information, and if they're drawn… for them to be able to prove that they've been vaccinated. Good consideration: do we have to show that, when they show [with their health records], or with their paper records, that they had it the day of the cutoff? That's a good question, we can get back to you on that…”

The lottery will hand out its three prizes in stages in July, August and September, but the submission form implies that the July prize will not require proof of vaccination: “You can enter as soon as you have had your first dose, but must be able to provide proof that you have had your second dose to win the August and September draws.”

CDC set to hold emergency meeting to discuss heart inflammation in young people after COVID vaccine

An advisory panel of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is to hold an emergency meeting to examine reports of heart inflammation in adolescents after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

The meeting is set to take place this week as reports emerge of myocarditis, which is an inflammation of the heart muscles. The inflammation has been seen in young men who have received their second dose of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, though Fox News reports that the inflammations are “very rare and have not been directly linked to the vaccines.”

“Preliminary findings suggest the number of heart inflammation cases in people ages 16 to 24 following the second dose of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines is higher than expected,” the Hill reported. “Limited data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) vaccine safety monitor system shows there have been 275 reported cases of myocarditis or pericarditis — inflammation conditions in the heart — in 16- to 24-year-old patients as of May 31. Most cases appear to occur in men.”

According to a CDC presentation prepared for a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory panel meeting on Thursday, the expected number of heart inflammation cases was between 10 and 102.

“It’s a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison because, again, these are preliminary reports. Not all these will turn out to be true myocarditis or pericarditis reports,” CDC’s Dr. Tom Shimabukuro said, according to CBS News. The doctor continued, saying that those who have reported the condition have made a full recovery.

In a later panel discussion on Thursday, Dr. Cody Meissner said he was “worried” about the reports, wondering if there would be any scarring of the muscular tissue of the heart or arrhythmia as a result of the condition, CNBC reported.

“I think that’s unlikely, but we don’t know that,” said Meissner, a professor of pediatrics at Tufts University School of Medicine. “So, before we start vaccinating millions of adolescents and children, it’s so important to find out what the consequences are.”

The CDC says COVID-19 vaccines are “safe and effective.”

“You may have side effects after vaccination. These are normal and should go away in a few days,” says the CDC. “It typically takes two weeks after vaccination for the body to build protection (immunity) against the virus that causes COVID-19. You are not fully vaccinated until 2 weeks after the 2nd dose of a two-dose vaccine or two weeks after a one-dose vaccine.”

HORSE CRAP: Pastor Artur's church vandalized after second pastor served

When congregants arrived at Pastor Artur’s church on Saturday morning, they came upon a vile act of vandalism. A large amount of horse manure was left in the parking lot, which has been serving as an outdoor worship space for the last few months. Garbage and needles were also reportedly found spread throughout the property.

This is not the first act of vandalism to have occurred at the property; nails and dog feces were spread throughout the parking lot previously. Additionally, we have heard numerous allegations of extensive graffiti on the property. Considering the attempted arson at Pastor Artur’s home and the assault he allegedly endured while shopping with his daughter, many are beginning to wonder when the authorities will publicly decry this ongoing discrimination.

Amanda Armstrong is a lawyer at the boutique law firm Nirmala Armstrong Law. In the wake of unprecedented hits on democracy and due process, her firm has shifted its focus almost entirely to COVID-19 related fines, health order infractions and human rights infringements.

Originally, I wanted to catch up with Alexandra Stewart of Stewart’s Decorating, who is an iWillOpen.com case turned FightTheFines.com case. Alexandra’s story was covered in depth by local media when the medical officer of health in North Bay issued her a restraining order for the criminal act of wanting to earn an honest, independent living.

We discuss how continual changes to the Reopening Ontario Act are cause for confusion for everyone from business owners to law enforcement and legal teams. Lawyers have to be ready to change direction on a whim when regulations are amended, which is costly and cumbersome.

Amanda emphasized the troubling nature of ambiguously worded legislation that is open to the interpretation of the enforcer.

Current legislation allows unelected health overlords to compound and escalate offences without due process or timely procedure for the alleged offender to plead their case. This brings into question the constitutionality of the legislation. In trying to seek clarification and answers through definition requests, Amanda has seen public health drag their feet, which delays access to justice.

In summary, the Reopening Ontario Act seems to be creating a legal fiasco with too much fluidity and very little clarity.

LEAK: Conservative Party asking employees about vax status, plans

In a survey titled “CPC HQ - Return to Work,” the first question, which is open-ended, asks “How are you doing with COVID restrictions?”

The second question, which is marked as required, asks, “Have you received or scheduled your first COVID-19 vaccine dose?”

Along with the obvious “yes” or “no” answers are: “I can't get vaccinated for personal reasons,” “I'm choosing not to get vaccinated,” and “I'm planning to schedule an appointment soon.”

The last question asks what type of work situation employees would like to have:

“Based on COVID-19 case numbers and vaccination rates in Ottawa, it's likely we will return to the office in the fall. What is your preferred return to work situation?”

BREAKING: Pastor Tim Stephens arrested on new charges

Pastor Tim Stephens was arrested on Monday afternoon on new charges, after Fairview Baptist Church gathered for underground worship for the second week in a row since their church was effectively seized by Alberta Health Services last Saturday.

Alberta authorities were forced to drop other charges against Pastor Tim last month, after discovering that Alberta Health Services never served Pastor Stephens with the court order he was accused of having violated, a requirement under the order. That effectively ended the case against Pastor Tim, but he will now be facing another legal battle.

Over the weekend, an ever-growing crowd gathered at the undisclosed location and shared the word, sang songs of praise and heard Pastor Tim preach.

As worship progressed, a police helicopter discovered the gathered congregation.

It is unclear if police were actually searching for the group or simply happened upon it, as the helicopter was significantly north of the location of worship and continued towards the city. It wasn’t until several minutes later that the helicopter returned and completed repeated passes overhead.

Minutes later, police vehicles were seen circling the location, but they never moved in to interrupt worship or make arrests.

Ironically, all efforts to suppress worship by Alberta Health Services, whether at Pastor Artur Pawlowski’s or Pastor Tim’s church have only served to significantly bolster church attendance. As public health restrictions continue to be relaxed, these churches are not facing defeat at the hands of overreaching officials, quite the opposite — they are stronger and larger than ever before.

Despite worship continuing, Pastor Tim was arrested in front of his family on Monday. He is fortunate to be represented by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, who will be working for his immediate release.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan appeared in an uncritical CBC Rosemary Barton live interview on Sunday in which he advocated for online censorship.

During the broadcast, Khan called for the international community to band together and implement further censorship against “online hate.” The discussion was in the context of the recent London, Ontario terror attack perpetrated against a Muslim family from Pakistan.

“What is it that governments should be doing, for instance, to shut down online hate towards Muslims?” asked Barton.

“I think there should be very strict action against it. Because you see, these hate websites, which again as I said, divide humanity by creating hatred,” said Khan.

“Unfortunately, while there’s so many benefits to social media. It’s changing the whole world. But when there’s these hate websites, which create hatred amongst human beings, there should be international action against them.”

When pressed on what the proposed international action constituted, Khan implied that some Western nations were not interested in tackling the issue.

“Whenever they decide upon taking action, this will be dealt with. The problem is at the moment there is not enough motivation. Some international leaders, leaders in the Western countries, actually don’t understand this phenomenon,” said Pakistan’s prime minister.

According to Khan, he said that through prior conversations with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, he found that the two “mostly agree” on issues.

Foreign Policy Director and Munk Senior Fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute Shuvaloy Majumdar addressed the interview on Twitter, calling Khan’s comments a “grotesque attempt at propaganda in the midst of a national tragedy.”

During the interview, Barton made no reference to the numerous human rights abuses the Pakistani government has been cited for by groups like Human Rights Watch. It was only until Prime Minister Khan had left the broadcast, that Barton referenced Pakistan’s atrocious record.

This month, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and the International Commission of Jurists called on the Pakistani government to act on a growing series of attacks against journalists.

“Pakistani journalists have long faced serious obstacles to their work, including harassment, intimidation, assault, arbitrary arrest and detention, abduction, and death. As these threats have escalated, Pakistani authorities have also increasingly pressured editors and media owners to shut down critical voices,” wrote a Human Rights Watch report.

Additionally, according to the World Report 2020: Pakistan, the Pakistani government has made no effort to repeal blasphemy laws that target Pakistan’s religious minorities. According to Pakistani laws, those found guilty of blasphemy can face the death penalty. Currently, 40 people are awaiting a death sentence for the Blasphemy in Pakistan.

Victoria city councillors call for BC municipalities to align policies with UNDRIP

Four Victoria city councillors are calling on the British Columbia government to help municipalities align their policies with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and other reconciliation initiatives.

A council member motion by Councillors Sharmarke Dubow, Ben Isitt, Jeremy Loveday and Sarah Potts was submitted to Victoria’s Committee of the Whole on June 10.

The motion, which is to be presented before the Union of British Columbia Municipalities, calls “on the Province of British Columbia to provide support and equitable access to funding for trauma-informed, Indigenous-led education, training, and policy guidance for local governments and associated law enforcement and emergency services to implement municipal-specific recommendations from the TRC (Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada), MMIWG2S (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Womxn, Girls, and Two Spirit), and UNDRIP.”

UNDRIP is a non-binding international document adopted by the UN in 2007. It purportedly constitutes “the minimum standards for the survival, dignity and well-being of the indigenous peoples of the world.”

Critics of UNDRIP have claimed that aligning Canada’s policies with the declaration would effectively grant First Nations groups veto powers over any future pipeline or energy infrastructure development.

According to UNDRIP, governments must obtain “free, prior and informed consent” from local Indigneous groups before moving forward with economic development on their historic lands.

Currently, the Liberal government is moving Bill C-15 through the House of Commons. The legislation, if passed, would allow Ottawa to take “all measures necessary to ensure that the laws of Canada are consistent” with UNDRIP.

“This legislation will likely move the process of reconciliation backward, rather than forward, and have grave impacts upon First Nations communities to develop and prosper and achieve true self-determination,” said Conservative MP Michael Cooper about Bill C-15 on May 14.

“This legislation would undermine reconciliation, and nowhere is that clearer than in the complete failure on the part of the government in this bill to define what constitutes ‘free, prior and informed consent.’”

In 2019, the BC government passed Bill 41 which has been described as legislation that has gone the furthest in aligning a Canadian province’s policies with UNDRIP. Despite the bill’s implementation, Indigenous activists have argued that it doesn’t go far enough.

Update: The Whistle Stop Cafe is heading to the Alberta Court of Appeal

Whistle Stop Cafe owner Chris Scott is taking his fight against Alberta Health Services all the way to the Alberta Court of Appeal.

In January, Scott opened his small restaurant in Mirror in defiance of the lockdown restrictions on sit-down dining service. The Whistle Stop, besides being a diner, is also a campground, and the only gas station and convenience store within 20 km.

Scott and the Whistle Stop faced constant surveillance, inspections, tickets, summonses and even court orders from Alberta Health Services and RCMP. But he didn't close, and eventually the Alberta government was forced to allow other restaurants to reopen.

However, Alberta was plunged into a third lockdown earlier in the spring, resulting in Alberta Health Services and the RCMP chaining the doors on the Whistle Stop. Then Alberta Health Services sought a secret court order in a Calgary courtroom restraining Scott from holding, organizing or promoting an illegal public gathering. Scott was threatened with jail time for contempt of court if he protested what the government had done to his business.

He protested anyway, and was arrested and held for three days for contempt of court, after holding a 1,500 person rally against the lockdown in Mirror.

Now, Scott and Williamson are taking their battle to the Alberta Court of Appeal, because when Alberta Health Services sought their original court order against Scott, they failed to inform the court that Scott was represented by a lawyer — something Alberta Health Services was well aware of through their past dealings with Williamson on the file.

Alberta Health Services denied Scott the right to be represented by his lawyer by failing to inform his lawyer of the proceedings against him, and by failing to inform the court that Scott had a lawyer at all.

That's not how it works. No free society should have secret courts where the government can get court orders against citizens that could result in their jailing. And Alberta Health Services needs to hear that from a judge so they never do this to another person.

Green Party leader takes shots at Trudeau’s social justice credentials

Green Party Leader Annamie Paul took shots at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau while giving a speech in which she accused fellow party members of waging a “racist” attack on her leadership.

Paul held a press conference on Wednesday, following a non-confidence vote levelled against her.

“A small group of councillors sought to force a vote of no-confidence in my leadership. They did so with no substantive consultation with the members they represent. They produced a list of allegations that were so racist, so sexist, that they were immediately disavowed by both our MPs as offensive and inflammatory and contrary to party ethics,” Paul told reporters.

According to a copy of allegation of non-confidence obtained by Global News, party members said Paul “has acted with an autocratic attitude of hostility, superiority and rejection.”

Members also accused the Green Party leader of “failing to develop a collaborative working relationship, failing to engage in respectful discussions, and failing to use dialogue and compromise.”

“She has attended few council meetings, and when in attendance, has displayed anger in long, repetitive, aggressive monologues and has failed to recognize the value of any ideas except her own, acting in a manner not in compliance with the leader’s role and responsibilities,” the allegation reads.

The internal party feud reached its boiling point earlier this week after former Green Party MP Jenica Atwin crossed the floor to the Liberals over dissenting views on the Israel-Hamas conflict.

During her speech, Paul also accused Trudeau of faking his social justice views and not being a real “ally” or a feminist.

“The Liberal Party of Canada has demonstrated that it is hell bent on winning their majority at almost any cost. By their admission, in recent days, they have sought to sow division, and to create disarray,” said Paul.

“That claim that they are allies is one where they talk the talk without walking the walk. To the prime minister, Justin Trudeau, you are no ally and you are no feminist.”

Paul also accused Trudeau of failing to support “strong, capable, competent women” in politics and “pushing them out” of the party fold when things don’t go his way.

At the height of the SNC-Lavalin political interference scandal in 2019, several women – including former justice minister Jody Wilson-Raybould – left the Liberal Party caucus after it was revealed that Trudeau attempted to interfere in the justice system.

Upon Wilson-Raybould’s departure, former Liberal cabinet minister Jane Philpott also left the party, followed by the departure of Liberal MP Celina Caesar-Chavannes.

Ethics Commissioner Mario Dion eventually found the prime minister guilty of breaking ethics laws a second time over his conduct in the affair.

Inflation rising at fastest rate since 2011: StatsCan

Inflation in Canada reached its highest rate in a decade in May as the prices of everyday goods continue to rise.

On Wednesday, Statistics Canada reported that the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which measures inflation on consumer goods and services on a year-over-year basis, reached a rate of 3.6%.

While CPI has been trending upward for several months, the rise in May was largely attributed to increased prices for housing and vehicles.

“Prices rose in every major component on a year-over-year basis. Shelter prices rose 4.2% year over year in May, the largest yearly increase since September 2008,” the report reads.

“Prices for durable goods rose 4.4% year over year, the fastest pace since 1989, against the backdrop of rising consumer confidence and low interest rates.”

On a monthly basis, prices rose 0.5% since April. Both the monthly and annual inflation rates came in higher than economists forecasted.

Prices for certain goods have skyrocketed in the past year, including a 43.4% increase in gas prices and a 9.8% increase in furniture prices.

The report focuses on rising housing prices as a driver of CPI, with the cost of owning a home rising at its fastest rate in a generation.

“Year over year, the homeowners’ replacement cost index rose 11.3%, the largest yearly increase since 1987.”

“Prices have risen year over year for 16 consecutive months, as prices for new homes continue to be influenced by shifting consumer preferences and higher construction costs.”

In March, the average price of a home sold in Canada reached a new record of $716,828. While demand slowed in April and May, prices remain high.

Liberal Party's conversion therapy Bill C-6 is “like no other ban anywhere else in the world”

Bill C-6 is a proposed amendment to the Criminal Code that is commonly referred to as a conversion therapy ban. The term “conversion therapy” refers to any attempts to change an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity. This can include abusive and harmful practices, but could also refer to voluntary religious counselling or support services that someone struggling with their sexual orientation may seek out for themselves.

Critics of the bill suggest that its language could effectively render something as simple as a private conversation between individuals or family members about sexuality or gender into a criminal matter. The bill virtually equates a pastor praying for someone’s capacity to resist sexual urges with coercive gay conversion programs.

I was joined by Jojo Ruba of FreetoCare.ca, who gave us an update on the bill and highlighted some of the major concerns surrounding it.

Jojo shared that numerous provinces already have various versions of conversion bans in effect, but the language proposed in Bill C-6 is far more problematic. Beyond the too broad definition of conversion therapy, there are serious concerns that the modified laws could be used to violate the fundamental rights of faith groups who adhere to traditional sexual and gender norms.

The responses to the criticisms have largely consisted of ambiguous assurances of honest intentions and good will, but these things mean very little when the law itself is full of problematic language and void of safeguards.

The Liberals have not allowed for much open discussion of this bill. According to Jojo, there is a significant likelihood that the all-too-common progressive strategy of decrying anyone who dares question Bill C-6 as a bigot will rear its ugly head. Bill C-6 parades as an initiative that supports LGBT individuals, when in reality, all it does is revoke the freedom of LGBT people to choose counselling as they see fit.

According to Jojo, the bill in its current form does not serve anyone aside from ideologues and activists. The bill could be brought up for debate in Parliament within the week, so Jojo encourages concerned citizens to reach out to their local Members of Parliament before Bill C-6 becomes law.

And apparently that made Mukesh the second coming of Typhoid Mary, putting the entire Star Trek cast and crew at risk of catching COVID-19 — even though there’s not a scintilla of evidence when it comes to backing up such fears.

“Fascinating,” as Mr. Spock would say with one arched eyebrow…

Indeed, we wonder if a cast member had been spotted at a Black Lives Matter protest would that also result in instant dismissal? Or would that kind of protesting be ok, because apparently the Wuhan virus won’t infect those who are gathering in the name of social justice — yet the virus despises anti-lockdown protesters? Wow, talk about science fiction…

And how perversely ironic: if there’s one sci-fi show out there that is all about diversity, it’s surely the Star Trek franchise, the show that was responsible for the first interracial kiss to be shown on network TV back in the 60s.

But although uber-woke Hollywood champions the phrase “diversity is our strength” apparently a diversity of opinion shall not be tolerated.

In other words, to quote the Borg: “Self determination is irrelevant; resistance is futile.”

Want a COVID jail exemption? Just be friends with someone in government

A brand new order paper response shows that federal government issued 3,200 special quarantine exemptions between March 2020 and the end of April 2021.

The nature of the exemptions also show that the science of COVID quarantine queue jumping was more about who you know, not how you were feeling.

The information of the exemptions comes from an order paper reply to a question posed by Alberta Conservative MP Earl Dreeshen who asked the federal government to provide the details of how many people received ministerial exemptions from quarantine requirements and the reasoning for that ministerial exemption.

Global Affairs offered exemptions to 762 people for “business mobility” and “business mobility — aerospace.”

Another 50 people received exemptions from the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Immigration granted 1,966 exemptions, most of which went to well-paid NHL players. Heritage granted 581 people exemptions for amateur sports.

Public safety granted 14 people exemptions including five for “union negotiations” and three for Irving Shipbuilding executives.

In addition, 3,200 people were allowed to skip out on the federal government quarantine jails while regular Canadian citizens were routinely slapped with escalating fines of up to $5,000. We aren’t really all in this together.

BAD NEWS: Judge rules Trudeau's airport COVID jails are legal — but we're fighting back!

Let me tell you a bit about what happened, and then I’ll tell you why I think we have a chance on appeal.

But first, the ruling:

The judge, Chief Justice Paul Crampton, ruled that jailing healthy people, law-abiding citizens who have done nothing wrong, jailing them for up to three days and billing them thousands of dollars for the cost of it, is just a minor inconvenience, not an important violation of our liberties. (I’m guessing he himself hasn’t had to stay in one.)

And the fact that this quarantine makes no sense from a health point of view — it’s no safer to send someone to a hotel for three days, where they will have contact with many people, as opposed to sending them straight home by themselves — well, the judge didn’t mind.

He actually wrote that it’s Canadians’ duty to suffer through such indignities to save lives.

Even though the government provided no evidence that these costly schemes have saved lives. In fact, there was evidence that the COVID jails are dangerous — whether it’s COVID outbreaks at the jails, or cases of alleged rapes there.

Justin Trudeau and the rest of the ruling class themselves don’t follow those rules. The president of the CBC flies back and forth to Canada from her home in New York City every week — she doesn’t quarantine.

Trudeau himself just got back from a week of boozy parties in Europe, violating every quarantine rule, masking rule, social distancing rule — and when he came back to Canada he reportedly spent a few hours in one of these hotels, and then just left. So yeah — rules are for the little people.

We sued because we had sent our then-reporter Keean Bexte to report in Florida, and he had to come back through one of these COVID jails. And when he was in the hotel, he came into contact with 14 people there — as opposed to just taking his own car home. Ridiculous.

Our lawyers did an excellent job.

Sarah Miller and Robert Hawkes ran circles around the governments lawyers. In cross-examination, they were able to get some incredible admissions from the government's witnesses, and they really grilled the health bureaucrats the government sent out to defend the law.

But in the end, Crampton sided with the establishment, and against the people. I’ve read the ruling — in my opinion, it’s a political document designed to make this problem go away.

And fair enough — if the entire media and the entire political establishment and the airline industry itself seem fine with all this and the other awful parts of the lockdown, so why would a top judge go out on a limb? And what — become a pariah at all the Ottawa wine-tasting parties?

Our lawyers were in court alongside lawyers from the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, and there were a handful of other individuals who sued too — all our cases were bundled together. But I note there wasn’t a single lawyer in court from left-wing civil liberties groups; no tourism or travel or business group; no citizens group. No political group, no opposition political party.

Nobody. Nobody who we rely on in society to protect us from authoritarian measures. I think the government got the message loud and clear — no-one “important” cares.

Well, I care. And I hope you care. So we’re going to appeal.

Senate might throw wrench in Liberals’ push to rush Bill C-10

The Liberal government’s push to rush through the anti-internet Bill C-10 before the legislative session is over this Summer will likely face delays in the Senate.

According to the National Post, a majority of senators are calling for further study into the legislation which some critics have claimed could limit the free speech rights of Canadians online.

“There seems to be a broad range of concern with this bill. There doesn’t seem to be any momentum to pass this and rubber-stamp this without thorough review,” Conservative Senator Leo Housakos told the National Post.

Similarly, the leader of the Progressive Senate Group, Senator Jane Cordy, has indicated she does not plan to skip the senate’s study period on C-10.

The Liberal government has claimed that the scope of Bill C-10 is limited to updating Canada’s outdated Broadcasting Act to meet current digital and social media realities.

However, public outrage erupted after Liberal members of the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage voted to strip the bill of protections that would prevent the government from regulating the content of ordinary Canadian users.

“Over on the House side, the process was completely unacceptable, and it should be deplored by any Canadian,” Housakos explained to the National Post.

Conservative MPs have accused the Liberal government of cutting short debate to ram the legislation through in spite of questions about the scrope of the bill on users’ social media content.

“We’re going to continue to fight this bill right through all the stages in our efforts to defeat it. I think the prime minister is in a mad rush to get it through so that he can have it in place and locked in before the next election,” Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre said in a committee meeting on June 9.

Recently a Liberal attempt to end debate on the legislation was turned down by the Speaker of the House of Commons Anthony Rota on Tuesday after the Liberals submitted a series of last-minute amendments to the law.

Alberta to lift most public health restrictions by Canada Day

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced on Friday that his province will be lifting virtually all of its COVID-19 related public health restrictions by Canada Day this year.

Kenney made the announcement during a celebratory press conference in which he thanked Albertans for lining up to get their vaccines.

“The end of this terrible time is just two weeks away,” said Kenney.

“I never doubted that we would reach this milestone together, that we’d pull together as a province, as a people, and get ‘er done in the true Alberta spirit.”

Alberta will be entering its final stage of it’s three-step reopening program after the vaccination requirements were reached on Thursday.

Currently, over 70% of people in Alberta who were eligible for the vaccine have received at least one dose.

“With more than 70 per cent of eligible Albertans now vaccinated with a first dose and more receiving second doses every day, the end of this pandemic is near,” said Alberta’s Minister of health Tyler Shandro in a news release on Friday.

“Thank you to the Albertans who have rolled up their sleeves to get protected. For those who are still thinking about getting a shot, you have only one week to get your shot before we draw for $1 million and other great prizes.”

Once Alberta enters the third stage of the plan, the indoor and outdoor gathering restrictions will be lifted. Similarly capacity limits for places of worship and businesses will also disappear.

According to the government of Alberta, mandatory indoor masking requirements will also be lifted, however “limited and specific settings” may still require mask-wearing.

Isolation requirements will still remain in place for those who test positive for COVID-19 even after the province enters the third stage.

Billed as a “This Is Me Pride Celebration Spectacular” and hosted by Drag Queen Nina West, the event will be streamed by Disney+ on YouTube and Facebook, and “will feature performances of notable Disney songs reinterpreted through an LGBTQ+ lens,” according to Deadline.

“We believe in the power of inclusive storytelling that brings us together and inspires us to live authentically, and Disney+ is committed to amplifying LGBTQ+ and BIPOC voices,” declared Disney+ in an Instagram posting.

“Around the world, The Walt Disney Company proudly contributes towards organizations that support LGBTQ+ communities and people.”

“We’re throwing a Disney Plus Pride party! Join us Sunday, June 27 for the first ever Disney Plus ‘This Is Me’ #Pride Celebration Spectacular,” announced Disney+ in a tweet.

Earlier this month, drag queen Nina West made a controversial appearance as a cartoon character on the popular Nickelodeon kid’s show Blue’s Clues & You!, in which he narrated via song an animated “pride” parade. The song runs through various “nontraditional” family structures adorned with numerous variants of the rainbow LGBTQ+ “pride” flags, all with a refrain of “they love each other so proudly” or a similar phrase.

Disney goes all out for homosexuality, transgenderism

Disney is also peddling toys and clothing for kids awash in rainbow colors as well as pro-homosexual and pro-transgender messaging.

“The countdown to Pride Month is on with a colorful array of Pride products available now!” announced Disney on Twitter in May. “Plus, The Walt Disney Company is giving funds as part of our ongoing commitment to organizations around the world that support LGBTQ+ communities.”

Among the organizations promoting homosexual and gender dysphoria that Disney is financing are GLSEN and the It Gets Better Project, which affirm youth who consider themselves to be homosexual or to have a gender identity that is different from biological reality.

CALGARY, Alberta, June 18, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A Canadian lawyer says that health officials “abused” their authority by arresting Christian pastor Tim Stephens, and that a judge’s order used to detain Stephens “does not apply” in his situation.

“It is our position that Alberta Health Services (AHS) is engaged in an intentional act of public deception and abuse of authority in arresting Pastor Stephens and others,” Jay Cameron, Litigation Director for Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF ), said in a press release sent out on Tuesday.

“Further, it appears that Premier Kenney’s government is targeting its enemies, those who are speaking out against lockdown restrictions and for Charter freedoms,” Cameron continued.

Stephens is being represented by the legal team at the JCCF. Cameron said that the AHS used a May 13 order from Alberta Associate Chief Justice Rooke to justify the arrest of Stephens, but that it does not “apply to the public broadly.”

The May 13 order was originally issued in relation to a planned protest at an Alberta restaurant, The Whistle Stop Café.

As a result of the planned protest, AHS obtained a court injunction against all “organizers of advertised illegal gatherings and rallies breaching COVID-19 public health orders.”

The café was shuttered by AHS for staying open contrary to COVID-19 health rules. The café’s owner was also arrested then released earlier in the year under the order for defying COVID-19 rules for keeping his restaurant open despite a ban on indoor dining.

The May 13 order, according to Cameron, also “does not apply to Pastor Stephens” and “applies only” to the owners of the Whistle Stop Café.

“It cannot be used to justify the two arrests of Pastor Stephens on May 16 and June 14,” said Cameron.

On Monday, Stephens was arrested and charged a second time by members of the Calgary Police Service (CPS) for allegedly breaking COVID-19 health rules.

He will remain behind bars at the Calgary Remand Centre until his next court appearance which is scheduled for June 28.

Stephens is a father of eight and serves as the pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Calgary, Alberta.

A video of his arrest, posted by Rebel News, shows Stephens’ children crying while saying “goodbye daddy,” as he was placed inside a police car.

The new charges follow a service Stephens held on June 6, according to police shown in the video. Stephens had his church doors shut by police on June 5, but continued conducting services nonetheless.

Stephens’ first arrest on May 16 also occurred in front of his family, after he held an indoor church service that contravened the provincial government’s COVID rules.

He was released after a judge agreed to let him out of jail on the condition that he abide by a now-amended May 6 injunction order issued by Alberta Health Services (AHS).

The JCCF says that Stephens’ arrests and charges are “unlawful” and that they “breached several of his Charter rights.”

Stephens’ second arrest comes at a time when politicians in Alberta have been publicly scrutinized after being allegedly caught breaking the provinces COVID-19 rules.

Kenney and eight others, including Health Minister Tyler Shandro, House Leader and Environment Minister Jason Nixon, and Finance Minister Travis Toews, were photographed dining on the rooftop of a government building on June 2. The photos appear to show that the government officials were violating the current COVID-19 guidelines.

A  “Fact Check”  report from the Western Standard  found that Kenney and the other attendees of the rooftop dinner potentially violated 18 of their “own regulations, and eight counts of violating their own guidelines.” 

Kenney publicly apologized for the rooftop dinner after internal party outrage spilled over into the public sphere. From April 9 until June 9, all indoor dining in Alberta was banned. Restaurants were also closed from early December of 2020 to February 8. Continue…

OTTAWA, Ontario, June 18, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today confirmed his government is working on “two tracks” to prove one’s vaccine status, and in the fall will be rolling out a system of “national certification of vaccination status” that travelers can use to prove they’ve had the “full” two doses of the COVID-19 jab.

“We are working on two tracks in terms of proof of vaccination for Canadians who wish to travel,” said Trudeau today at a press conference. “First of all, in the initial phase were going to be working with the ArriveCAN app in ways that people can upload an image of their paper proof of vaccination or online proof of vaccination so that the border agents on their return to Canada can verify indeed that they are fully vaccinated.”

Trudeau said his government will have something “in place in the coming weeks” for this summer’s travel season.

Trudeau recently announced his government was “right now” working on “certificates of vaccination” for travel with its allies, saying they are to be “expected” soon. 

Today, Trudeau confirmed earlier reports that a “broad consensus” has been reached among the nation’s premiers to work to create “a proof of vaccine credential” system for travel. 

He said that they are working with the provinces on a type of “national certification of vaccination status” that will be “easily” accepted around the world.

According to a CBC report about the federal government’s use of the ArriveCAN app, a source said, “The app will allow travelers to take a photo or upload a snapshot of their vaccine documentation into the app before going through customs.”

As it stands now, all travellers arriving to Canada must use the ArriveCAN app to submit their “travel and contact information, including a suitable quarantine plan, electronically,” before crossing the border or boarding a flight.

In Canada, provinces have jurisdiction on all health matters, which would include issuing any type of proof of one’s vaccination status.

Businesses Fret as Canada Extends Ban on Travel With US

Canada is extending a ban on non-essential travel with the United States and the rest of the world until July 21, Public Safety Minister Bill Blair said on Friday, prompting frustration from businesses worried about the economic damage.

Canada's Liberal government is under increasing pressure from businesses and the tourism industry to ease the ban, which was first imposed in March 2020 to help contain spread of the coronavirus and has been renewed on a monthly basis ever since.

"In coordination with the U.S., we are extending restrictions on non-essential international travel and with the United States until July 21st, 2021," Blair said on Twitter.

Ottawa will reveal on June 21 how it plans to start lifting the measures for fully vaccinated Canadians and others who are currently permitted to enter Canada, he added.

Although the ban does not affect trade in goods, it is hitting travel operators and the export of services.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce - a national group that advocates for businesses - lamented what it said was Ottawa's sluggishness, especially as around 75% of Canada's population had already had at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine.

"I'm disappointed … all of the science would say we should be moving ahead to reopen the border. We don't even have a plan at this point," said Perrin Beatty, the group's president and chief executive.

"Unfortunately, Canada is the proverbial deer caught in the headlights … we are the world leader in terms of first shots and we are a world laggard when it comes to having a strategy," he said in a phone interview.

The United States is Canada's largest trading partner.

Health Minister Patty Hajdu last week said the federal government was preparing to lift quarantine protocols for citizens who had received their second dose of a vaccine.

The U.S. government has created working groups with both Mexico and Canada to discuss the restrictions. The groups held their initial meetings this week, sources told Reuters.

An Alberta-based application that makes it easy to report rural crime incidents is taking off within communities across Western Canada and the Prairies.

The Lightcatch reporting system was developed and designed in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Most recently, the system has found its way to dozens of rural towns boasting “tens of thousands of users.”

“The County of Grande Prairie was really the first official partnership. We recognized the need for such a service in October 2020 and began to just do it (voluntarily). We basically just picked our core growth areas and just started doing it. Nobody hired us,” said company CEO Darren Boyer.

The reporting system was initially launched in association with crime fighting groups like the Beaverlodge District Rural Crime Watch.

“When we started, to be able to say the results of this program are getting a 56 per cent good outcome for all thefts, (while) areas outside of the program are getting a 22 per cent good outcome, it was such a difference. It made the program value so clear,” said Boyer.

Meanwhile, the Alberta government has also taken up several initiatives to reduce the incident rate of crimes targeting rural residents.

According to RCMP data, the province saw a 17% drop in break-and-enters in 2020, with a 19% decrease in vehicle theft. Rural communities are often the most targeted for property crimes.

At the federal level, Conservative MP Blaine Calkin introduced a Private Member’s Bill, C-289, with the intention of making it easier to prosecute criminals targeting rural residents.

The legislation hopes to change the Criminal Code and add as an aggravating circumstance evidence that a crime was directed at somebody who was “vulnerable because of their remoteness from emergency services.”

“For many rural communities across Canada, crime has reached a crisis point. Rural Canadians too often do not feel safe in their own homes, many are victimized, often they have given up reporting property crime altogether and they cannot get affordable insurance, if they can get any insurance at all. My constituents are tired of being victims,” said Calkins.

Honolulu Police Used Robo-dog To Patrol Homeless Camp

The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) spent $150,045 in CARES Act money to purchase a Boston Dynamics' four-legged robo-dog called Spot to patrol a homeless quarantine encampment, according to Vice News.

HPD extensively used the robo-dog to conduct various tasks, such as temperature readings, disinfecting, and patrol the city's homeless camp.

In the last year, Honolulu is one of four police departments to adopt the headless, quadrupedal robot outfitted with high-tech sensors to sniff the world around it — Massachusetts State Police, New York City Police Department, and the Dutch National Police are the other three.

In January, HPD officials attempted to deflect bad press around the Spot by claiming the robot will save the department money as it would reduce labor and equipment expenses.

With the pandemic winding down, it's unclear if the robot is needed at all and maybe repurposed. The costs of the robot infuriated Honolulu residents, while others suggested the robot could continue to be used to surveil the homeless.

We've seen this story before and may know how it will play out, especially with what was recently observed in New York City.

Last fall, NYPD leased the four-legged robotic dog called "Digidog" from Boston Dynamics, which came with an optical sensor on top to patrol low-income neighborhoods.

Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez caused such an uproar about the robo-dog's use. She quoted an NYPost article titled "Video shows NYPD's new robotic dog in action in the Bronx" on Twitter. She was not fond of the "robotic surveillance ground drones that are being deployed for testing on low-income communities of color with under-resourced schools."

By late April, after more community uproar, the NYPD terminated its leasing contract with Boston Dynamics and had to put Digidog down.

Suppose NYPD's limited use of the robot serves as history. In that case, it's only a matter of time before community uproar in Honolulu forces officials to suspend deployment of the robot.

(Natural News) Another young person who was perfectly healthy before getting “vaccinated” for the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) has died following her second injection of the poison.

Nineteen-year-old Simone Scott was a freshman at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., when she decided to do her part to help “flatten the curve” by getting needled with Moderna’s two-dose mRNA injection. After receiving her second dose, Scott developed a severe heart condition that required a transplant.

Not long after the transplant, Scott died from what doctors are now saying was myocarditis.

Scott received her second dose of Moderna’s syringe on May 1, and eight days later on May 9, Mother’s Day, she decided to pay her parents a surprise visit. This is when Scott’s mother first noticed that something was wrong.

“I did notice she was kind of stuffy so her voice wasn’t exactly the same,” Valerie Kraimer told the media.

Scott survived the weekend and returned to campus on Monday, May 11, though her condition was worsening. She visited a doctor who administered a Chinese Virus test, which turned up negative, but her situation continued to unravel.

“On Sunday morning [May 16], she texted her father and said, ‘Dad, I feel so dizzy. I cannot get out of bed,’ and that’s when everything really started from there,” Kraimer recalls.

Since Scott’s parents live hundreds of miles away, her father called campus police to have someone check on her.

“We learned that a doctor had to jump on her chest and give her CPR because she was that bad, and then the whole cascade of events happened,” Kraimer says. “They had to intubate her and realized she was in heart failure.”

An analysis of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s food and agriculture grants found the majority of the foundation’s funding goes to groups heavily skewed to technologies — completely ignoring the knowledge, technologies and biodiversity Africa’s farmers already possess.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has spent nearly $6 billion over the past 17 years trying to improve agriculture, mainly in Africa. This is a lot of money for an underfunded sector, and, as such, carries great weight. To better understand how the Gates Foundation is shaping the global agriculture agenda, GRAIN analyzed all the food and agriculture grants the foundation has made up until 2020.

We found that, while the Foundation’s grants focus on African farmers, the vast majority of its funding goes to groups in North America and Europe. The grants are also heavily skewed to technologies developed by research centers and corporations in the North for poor farmers in the South, completely ignoring the knowledge, technologies and biodiversity that these farmers already possess.

Also, despite the Foundation’s focus on techno-fixes, much of its grants are given to groups that lobby on behalf of industrial farming and undermine alternatives. This is bad for African farmers and bad for the planet. It is time to pull the plug on the Gates’ outsized influence over global agriculture.

In 2014 GRAIN published a detailed breakdown of the grants made by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to promote agricultural development in Africa and other parts of the world. Our main conclusion then was that the vast majority of those grants were channelled to groups in the U.S. and Europe, not Africa nor other parts of the global South. The funding overwhelmingly went to research institutes rather than farmers. They were also mainly directed at shaping policies to support industrial farming, not smallholders.

Much has happened since then. For starters, Bill and Melinda Gates announced their divorce in May this year, leaving the future of the Foundation and its grant-making in doubt. The department of Canadian Heritage requires the services of a contractor on an as-and-when requested basis to develop, implement, manage, create awareness of, facilitate the exchange of information, and report on marketing programs and content integration in support of the public education and awareness anti-racism campaign targeted to non-racialized Canadians, middle-aged adults, and non-racialized Canadian adults.

The program to lecture the David Menzies and other middle-aged white guys of the world about how awful they are is proposed to run from July 15, 2021 to March 31, 2022, with an option to extend the program twice for separate one year intervals.

Costs for the project won’t be known until the bid process is complete later this month, but one thing is certain: racial scolding never comes cheap.

University of Ottawa adjunct professor and Canadian Lawyer Naomi Sayers took to Twitter recently to endorse sex work for “young people," calling it “the best thing” they can do early in their careers.

“unpopular opinion: the best thing young people can do early in their careers is do #SexWork on the side because your early career prospects will be unstable, unpredictable, low pay, likely contract work and very much exploitative," Sayers wrote on Twitter Sunday.

She then addressed the idea of sex work being exploitative by comparing it to capitalism.

“That’s how capitalism works… People out here saying young people can be exploited in sex work. Literally, that’s capitalism. Lol. And quite literally, that’s any kind of work.”

Sayers then said capitalism, along with prisons, needed to be abolished, advocating for free education, and a living wage.

“Also, if you really want young people to not be exploited, provide them with livable wages, access to safe housing, clean water, free education. Literally. Abolish capitalism… Actually abolish prison but whatever.”

Alex Krause, Sayers’ publicist, responded to Campus Reform’s inquiry on Sayers’ behalf, insisting that she is “IN NO WAY” promoting sex work, but rather, was attempting to draw a correlation between it and the supposedly exploitative “capitalist society”.

“Naomi is IN NO WAY promoting or suggesting that anyone should pursue sex work, her point was to facetiously criticize capitalist society, to quote her initial tweet '…early career prospects will be unstable, unpredictable, low pay, likely contract work and very much exploitative,’” Krause told Campus Reform.

When asked what Sayers meant by her tweet, Krause told Campus Reform that her “intent” was to called out “systemic racism” and “stigmatization."

“What Naomi meant is stated plainly. Yes, it is nuanced; but NO, she is not directly advocating for sex work. Her intent remains to call out systemic racism / stigmatization wherever it exists, and it is rampant within for-profit Canadian higher education institutions AND the prison system.”

“Capitalism, for-profit education, and prison are inherently stigmatizing towards certain marginalized groups. As we noted in the previous email, Naomi’s lived experience of stigmatization in the legal realm is telling, considering the massive investment that she made personally and financially to pursue a legal education.”

Krause then told Campus Reform that the interpretation of Sayers’ tweet was “indicative” of the problem Sayers is trying to address.

“Your interpretation of her coy, and nuanced take on exploitation of capitalism vs exploitation of sex work may be indicative of the exact issue she is trying to highlight - the quickness to stigmatize and/or “slut shame” sex work.”

Krause also explained Sayers’ critique of capitalism, insisting that it produces “exploitative career paths."

“Capitalism has created an economy that many people leave university indebted for decades, and in turn feel pressured to work in exploitative career paths… Sex work can be exploitative, just like any other kind of work, and in fact it predates capitalist societies. Capitalism only further incentives “have nots”/marginalized communities to pursue whatever means they must to survive.”

The commonly accepted germ theory of illness spread by viruses is just a theory. It has never been proven. Indeed, there is significant evidence that it is wrong.

The vast majority of people around the world believe that the healthcare system promoted by the agencies responsible for public health, especially the WHO, is firmly based on ‘sound science’. This system, known as ‘modern medicine’, is perceived to represent an ‘elite’ branch of science, which suggests that any other approach to healthcare and healing must be pseudoscience or quackery. This elitist attitude is inculcated into medical students during their training, as experienced by Dr Carolyn Dean, who explains in her book entitled Death by Modern Medicine that,

“In fact, we were told many times that if we didn’t learn it in medical school it must be quackery.”

In his book entitled Confessions of a Medical Heretic, Dr Robert Mendelsohn MD indicates that belief in medical ‘authority’ is misplaced. He expands on his discussion of the problems with ‘modern medicine’ by reference to similarities between beliefs, religion and ‘modern medicine’. He describes the medical establishment as ‘the church of modern medicine’ and justifies this description with the statement that,

“Modern medicine can’t survive without our faith, because modern medicine is neither an art nor a science; it’s a religion…Just ask ‘why’ enough times and sooner or later you’ll reach the chasm of faith.”

It will undoubtedly be a shock for people to discover that ‘modern medicine’ is not firmly established from the basis of true ‘science’. Laboratory experimentation is certainly used within modern medicine, but it would be a mistake to equate such experiments with ‘science’; as Dr Peter Duesberg explains in his book entitled Inventing the AIDS Virus,

“The transition from small to big to mega-science has created an establishment of skilled technicians but mediocre scientists, who have abandoned real scientific interpretation and who even equate their experiments with science itself.”

British Airways have confirmed the authenticity of four condolence books shown in the above image that is flying round social media. They said four company pilots had recently passed away and “our thoughts are with their family and friends,”.

Everybody knows that there is an increased chance of suffering a blood clot when flying, and everyone will know by now that there is an increased risk of suffering blood clots associated with low platelets due to the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine. “Smartest Man in America” Breaks Down Global Elite’s Vaccine Sterilization Agenda

One of the smartest people in the world is speaking out against the Covid-19 injection, asserting the global elite behind the “vaccine” push likely do not have humanity’s best interests in mind.

Most people wouldn’t assume much of Missouri horse rancher Christopher Langan, 69, who used to work as a construction worker and a bouncer at a bar for nearly 20 years.

However, a 1999 Esquire article put Langan on the map, describing him at the time as the “Smartest Man in America,” with an IQ right around 200.

Since then, Langan’s been profiled by ABC news show, “20/20,” and his brilliance has been widely catalogued given his unusual past.

Currently he’s taken on a project dubbed the “Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe (CTMU)” which attempts to pinpoint the “connection between mind and reality” and help explain the existence of God through mathematics.

It was in a Facebook group dedicated to the CTMU where Langan last week destroyed the global push for Covid-19 vaccination as only a genius could.

According to Langan, the vaccine plan of the global elite is likely not to cull (immediately), but to gradually sterilize the population in order to maintain superiority as a ruling class over the dumbed-down masses.

“A mass human die-off would be traumatic and threaten the status quo,” Langan explained. “If the human population crashes and the economy follows suit, the elite will have nothing, no innate superiority or adaptivity, that might protect them and conduce to their survival. Hence, they prefer mass sterilization and a slower (but still rapid) population decline.”

“Instead of upgrading humankind, they are degrading it, relying on a combination of public ignorance, misplaced trust, and dead-end ideas and ideologies like atheism, materialism, communism, multiculturalism and forced ethnic ‘diversification’, tyrannical ‘global governance’ to snooker humanity into compliance,” Langan wrote.

Langan concludes he would physically assault anyone who tried to force him to take a vaccine, adding that “the same should be true of any other decent self-respecting person.”

In another conversation last week, Langan expanded on why the globalists would want to reduce human fertility.

“Remember, the elite $uppose themselve$ to be the genetic creme-de-la-creme, and assume that everyone else is genetically inferior garbage and thus ultimately susceptible to their mind-control techniques,” Langan wrote.

“In the elite worldview, only the elite are ‘elite’. Everyone else is sh*t and therefore expendable.”

Will Woods, the owner of the Peppermint Hippo tattoo shop in Lethbridge, Alberta, has been dealing with ongoing harassment from Alberta Health Services (AHS) and government authorities since the onset of COVID-related restrictions.

Peppermint Hippo Tattoo has been operating in Lethbridge as a respected business for over a decade. They have contributed over $150,000 to the community through sponsorships and donations, and they have never failed a single health inspection. Furthermore, Will told us that AHS have confirmed that not a single case of COVID-19 has been directly linked to tattoo shops in Alberta. AHS served Will with an order to appear in court because he left his open sign on… despite having no customers inside. CBC Turns Off Facebook Comments To Protect "Fragile" Journalists' Mental Health And "Protect Free Speech"

In a move that can only be described as the pinnacle of embracing snowflake culture, the CBC has said this week it is going to close comments on all of its news links and video posts to Facebook pages to protect the mental health of its journalists.

Journalists - who used to be rugged and used to deal with varying opinions as part of the job description - are "fragile" and "in need of attention", like many other Canadians post-pandemic, the CBC wrote last week. Increasingly, they are facing "vitriol and harassment" for doing their jobs, the report notes.

"For journalists, platforms like Twitter can be a great way to find sources and promote their work, but also a cesspool of hatred. Increasingly, reporters are also physically attacked," Andre Picard told CBC.

Women and journalists of color have seen increased abuse, according to CBC President Catherine Tait. In her opinion, those threats pose attacks to "free speech and democracy".

And what better way to enable free speech, than to shut down all speech?

"That's why beginning on Wednesday and for the next month, we will close comments on all news links and video posts to the Facebook pages belonging to the journalism division of the CBC (News, Current Affairs and Local)," the CBC wrote.

We have built significant audiences on social media platforms through our program and news accounts. These are vital ways to reach Canadians, and we believe in serving content to people there like we do on TV, radio, web and apps. In fact, some of our social channels boast record numbers, increasing reach and growing engagement with millions of Canadians.

But as the conversation has degraded on these platforms, we find ourselves limiting what we post there. We know certain stories will draw out obnoxious and hateful comments. The truth is we spend a considerable amount of attention and resources attempting to moderate our Facebook posts. It takes a mental toll on our staff, who must wade into the muck in an effort to keep the conversation healthy for others.

"It is not sustainable," the report concludes. "We continue to welcome comments on our website, CBCNews.ca, where we have more moderating tools and can focus our attention better on offering a respectful dialogue about our stories."

Why Net-Zero Is A Suicide Mission For Canada

Canada’s plan for net-zero “greenhouse-gas emissions” by 2050 will come home to roost. Grandstanding has consequences, and in Bill C-12 we are witnessing the legislation to give it teeth. The demonized energy sector appears impotent to resist this attack and is outwardly embracing the idea, presumably to placate regulators and the woke mob.

Grandiose promises, for which the bills come over in decades, are a natural product of election-minded politicians. Their strategy is to garner positive press while leaving someone else to deal with the difficult task of making the promises happen, including paying for them. This is how, for example, unfunded liabilities became prevalent in Canadian governments at all levels (pdf).

Just as Millennials and Generation Z will have to pick up the tab for Ponzi schemes such as the Canada Pension Plan, so too will they have to pay for pie-in-the-sky environmentalism. The price will come in the form of fewer jobs available and higher energy prices, which in turn raise the prices of almost everything in the economy.

To rub salt into the wound, Canadians can expect an array of taxes that will manipulate their behavior and pay for subsidies to inflate so-called green energies beyond what’s warranted by their value to consumers. In December 2020, for example, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced CA$3 billion ($2.4 billion) for a Net Zero Accelerator Fund “to rapidly expedite decarbonization projects with large emitters, scale-up clean technology, and accelerate Canada’s industrial transformation across all sectors.”

What It Would Take

Achieving net-zero by 2050, akin to the Green New Deal in the United States, would require a colossal energy transition and use reduction. In addition, it would require sophisticated efforts to capture greenhouse gases on site and/or pull them from the air and inject them underground. The latter is a form of offset, one of the few ways to offset emissions that’s quantifiable and not easily gamed.

Defining and measuring offsets tends to be difficult because we don’t know people’s actions in the absence of payments. Did they change their behavior in a long-term fashion, or did they simply collect rewards? According to Mark Jaccard, a Simon Fraser University professor and the author of “The Citizen’s Guide to Climate Success,” the definition of offsets is slippery. Jaccard is an advocate for direct citizen action and policies toward emissions reductions. However, he asserts that if we were to only fund “a true offset”—such as direct-air capture—that would raise the cost from $8 to about $200 per ton of carbon dioxide.

“When a given jurisdiction is trying to reduce emissions,” he counsels, “don’t allow offsets to be more than a small percentage of the policy tools that you use to reduce your emissions.”

Jaccard and institutional purveyors of net-zero by 2050, such as the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the World Economic Forum (WEF), don’t shy away from admitting the gravity of the change necessary. The IEA’s 2020 report, “Achieving Net-Zero Emissions by 2050,” said it “would require a far-reaching set of actions going above and beyond the already ambitious measures in the [Sustainable Development Scenario]. A large number of unparalleled changes across all parts of the energy sector would need to be realized simultaneously, at a time when the world is trying to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.”

That last element is crucial. The Canadian economy, like many others, is in shambles. On the back of overzealous COVID-19 lockdowns, border restrictions, and misdirected welfare programs, the nation faces a fiscal crisis. In fact, monetary expansion to fund the deficit binge has pushed inflation beyond the Bank of Canada’s stipulated range of 1 to 3 percent.

The road to recovery will require difficult decisions and austerity. Meanwhile, the IEA says, “Total CO2 emissions … need to fall by around 45 percent from 2010 levels by 2030.” The WEF adds, “Huge declines in the use of coal, oil, and gas will be essential.” The WEF is a fitting ally for the plan, since net-zero dovetails with the Great Reset. One of the IEA’s net-zero recommendations for 2021 is “No new oil and gas fields approved for development; no new coal mines or mine extensions.”
