Just gonna jump on in here. I believe God created the material world for us, even though he could have made it purely spirtual.
God created male and female so we could have fun reproducing. As you know, we don't just touch fingers to make babies. God gets to watch that baby get made, and it usually pleases Him.
Most people get born with a soul, most of the time those souls were made for human bodies.
