Dr. Fauci:My father owned a pharmacyin Dyker Heights across the street from the Shrine Church of St. Bernadette.
Battaglia: Where in Italy do your ancestors come from?
Dr. Fauci: My grandparents on both sides were born in Italy. My father’s parents were born inSciacca, Sicilyand settled in Manhattan’s Little Italy via Ellis Island. A few years later, my father was born in New York City. My mother’s parents came from a different part of Italy, part fromNaples, part fromGenoa. They too settled in Manhattan’s Little Italy where my mother was born a few years later."
