Trump bought up all the vaccines while still in the planning phase, then gave it away. So, a speculative buy. Might be like a futures market, thing, but I'm not good enough in finance to know for sure. Something like gov will pay you more the quicker you have it on the market.
Figure out how much a vaccine would be worth in the free market if it first came out after 5 years of pandemic lockdown, and you get get an idea of what Trump did to pharma's bottom line.
Still think Fauci was front man for a scheme to release viruses and score big on vaccines, and Trump blew it up. Trump must have been holding some good cards, because pharma had to go the less profitable speculative route rather than hold out for 5 years and score big bucks under the Fauci plan.
Trump made them a deal they couldn't refuse.
