My take on why Trump is pushing the vaccines ties in to this.
Trump bought up all the vaccines while they were in the planning stage.
I 'm not a financial guy, but figure it was what like a futures market might be like, in that you buy on speculation. Guarantee a purchase for a set price.
That takes out at least the middle man, and probably low cuts pharma profits as well, because Trump set the precedent for giving it away to the public for free. Think of the cost if the pandemic was stretched out over a few years waiting for a vaccine.
As it is now, free vaccines going forward for all things corona, or for any biolab sourced incident takes out the vaccine scam completely.
If people take it now, boosters should be free, too, because, I think, a contract for buying a vaccine for corona means it is meant to immunize against corona, and if that immunization requires a booster to be effective, it should be an original contract matter. Again, not sure, but just trying to go through this with some logic.
So people in now with the vaccine, should be in fro free going forward.
Have to think that if the scam was to sell the vaccine, the perps wouldn't want it to kill off the customer base. Not the best business plan. Add to that, low demand, thus far, has stirred up a real catfight between vaccine vendors vying for customers. No competitor's product will be left free from an anal by the competitors, with any contraindications hyped to the max.
Non-participation is also good. So voluntary is the operating word. Low demand, high supply = low profits. Vaccine skeptics are essential.
TL;DR Trump vaccine campaign was meant to take out price gouging down the road.
