SEOUL, June 05 (Yonhap) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un chaired a session of the Labor Party's political bureau for his first public appearance in a month and spoke of a future big Party meeting and organizational issues, the North Korea Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Saturday.
During the session, the North decided to hold a plenary meeting of the Party's Central Committee earlier this month to take "additional state measures to resolve urgent outstanding issues for economic work and people's lives." , explained the KCNA.
"Having a positive appreciation that a lot of the planned work is being accelerated on the basis of the long term, […] the respected Secretary General presented and analyzed the execution of the main political tasks in different domains for the first half of this year, ”the official agency continued.
Kim said the plenary meeting would be used to review overall state affairs for the first six months of the year to take action to correct mistakes and "flawed issues."
The session also touched on the subject of the structural reorganization of the departments of the Party Central Committee and other issues that will be dealt with at the next plenary meeting.
Kim was last seen in public on May 6, during a photo op with family members of North Korean military soldiers. The day before, he had attended a show given by them.
