LIVE: Riot Police have given the final dispersal order to protesters at Line 3 Pipeline worksite in Minnesota. Dozens have already been arrested; getting rid of these people has taken over 12 hours.
Not sure if this qualifies, but it has done a lot of damage to citrus crops, and is ultimately traced to China:
"About crumb-sized and the color of dusty farmland, the psyllid carries a bacterial disease called huanglongbing (HLB) or “citrus greening disease,” which destroys fruit and kills trees. The disease has wreaked havoc on Florida’s citrus industry over the last decade and California citrus growers are on heightened alert.
When left unmanaged, psyllid populations balloon rapidly, allowing them to become super-spreaders of citrus greening, which originated in China more than a century ago. As the name implies, the disease turns fruit green, bitter, and misshapen. In the late ‘90s, psyllids arrived en masse in Florida. Since then, the amount of citrus acreage growing fruit has dropped by roughly half."

I thought the Line 3 Pipeline protesters had chained themselves to equipment, but they are actually using 'lock-on devices'. That's why it is taking forever to cut through them.

"Lock-ons were originally performed with chains and handcuffs, but other devices have been introduced, including tripods and tubes or pipes with handholds built in to link a person to an object or to create chains of people. A more complicated lock-on is the sleeping dragon, which involves protesters putting their limbs through pipes containing concrete, or a mixture of steel and concrete…A car dragon is a car concreted into place after removing the wheels, where protestors can then lock-on to a further device fixed to the car."
