War Against Big Tech Begins: Ohio Files Lawsuit To Regulate Google As A Public Utility

In a groundbreaking lawsuit filed Tuesday, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost asserts that he wants Google recognized as a public utility, rather than a public firm, to rein in how it distributes search results to Ohioans.

The complaint was dubbed “landmark” by Yost, who said that Google is discriminatory and anti-competitive.

He filed the complaint in Delaware County Court, claiming that Ohio is the first state in the nation to do so.

“Google is discriminatory and anti-competitive because it uses its dominance in internet search to steer Ohioans to Google’s own products,” Yost stated. “If you own a railroad, an electric company, or a cellphone tower, you have to treat everyone equally and provide access to everyone.”

Yost’s lawsuit seeks to have Google classified as a common carrier, or public utility, and subject to government oversight.

It also claims that the California-based firm has a responsibility to provide equal rights to suppliers or competitors, and that it should not prioritize the placement of its own products, services, and websites in search results.

Yost wants equal rights for adverts, improvements, knowledge boxes, integrated specialized searches, direct replies, and other features, as well.

The lawsuit does not seek monetary damages.

Yost claims Google hurts Ohioans by not offering all the information in order for someone searching to make the best decision.

He used searching for a flight as an example, saying if Google returns its own search results to steer someone to Google Flights, the person will not see offers from competitors such as Orbitz or Travelocity.

“Google search is designed to provide people with the most relevant and helpful results. AG Yost’s lawsuit would make Google Search results worse and make it harder for small businesses to connect directly with customers,” Google said in a statement to The Center Square. “Ohioans simply don’t want the government to run Google like a gas or electric company. The lawsuit is the second Yost has filed against Google in the past several months.

In December, he joined 37 other attorneys general in a lawsuit alleging that the firm had broken the Sherman Act, which prohibits groupings of firms from forming monopolies in order to decrease economic competition.

Russia Tests S-500 Air Defense System With New Interceptors

Russia has tested its S-500 air defense system with interceptors capable of eliminating hypersonic targets, Izvestia reported.

Trials were conducted at the Sary-Shagan training ground in Kazakhstan, where the missile interceptors successfully neutralized targets, the Moscow-based outlet added citing sources.

The system’s “first samples” will enter service this year while its serial delivery is scheduled for 2025, according to Sergei Chemezov, head of Russian state defense manufacturer, Rostec.

Uses Range of Interceptors

“The S-500 Prometheus mobile air defense missile system is being created to destroy rockets and spacecraft in near-earth orbits. It can eliminate targets flying in hypersound,” Lieutenant General Aytech Bizhev, ex-deputy head of the Air Force for the Commonwealth of Independent States air defense system, told Izvestia.

The mobile system can be transported by ground or air around the country and deployed depending on the threat, Bizhev added.

The S-500 utilizes a combination of missiles to intercept a variety of aerial targets. It employs the 40N6, which is also installed in the S-400, to neutralize “aerodynamic targets.” For ballistic missiles, the system uses the 77N6 with “conventional and nuclear warheads” to destroy targets in the ”transatmospheric sector and in near space,” the outlet wrote.

New Jam-proof Radar Station

The system has received a jam-proof radar station, the Yenisei, Russian news outlet Gazeta.Ru reported, citing a source last month.

The Yenisei radar station has locators equipped with remote posts that help the system avoid being jammed by enemy systems.

The system is also capable of uninterrupted operation for a longer period of time than other air defense radar systems, according to Gazeta.Ru. The Yenisei’s fully automatic function reportedly excludes the possibility of human error.

It is an active-passive radar system, which allows it to conduct “reconnaissance and detect air objects and issue target designations to air defense weapons without broadcasting.”

Another key feature of the Yenisei is its ability to scan a sector, unlike most other radar that scans in circles, the outlet wrote, referring to the S-400’s 96L6 all-altitude detector radar station, which does not include the Yenisei’s sector scanning capability.

In addition to Dr. Fauci delivering the keynote address, researchers central to the ongoing debate about COVID-19’s origins – who’ve reportedly played major roles in the coverup of the Wuhan lab’s role in the pandemic – also spoke.

One conference speaker, Wuhan Institute of Virology Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases Director Shi Zhengli, was recently the subject of a heated line of questioning from Senator Rand Paul with Dr. Fauci.

“For years, Dr. Ralph Baric, a virologist in the U.S., has been collaborating with Shi Zhengli of the Wuhan Virology Institute, sharing his discoveries about how to create super viruses. This gain-of-function research has been funded by the NIH,” Senator Paul inquired before Dr. Fauci asserted the claims were “entirely and completely incorrect.”

Despite Dr. Fauci’s attempts to distance himself from the Wuhan-based researcher, who has earned the sobriquet “bat lady” for her work on SARS-like coronaviruses, the conference agenda reveals they both spoke at the event.

And the topic of Shi’s speech – “SARS coronavirus may have originated from frequent recombination events between SL-CoVs in a single horseshoe bat habitat” – proves especially pertinent to COVID-19. Dr. Fauci addressed “emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases: from AIDS to Zika.”

Also speaking at the event was Peter Daszak, who serves as the President of EcoHealth Alliance. The nonprofit has come under scrutiny for receiving millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars from Dr. Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and funneling part of the sum to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, as the Chinese Communist Party-run lab lists Daszak’s group as a partner.

An article published by a man named Donald Moss in the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association, a bi-monthly peer-reviewed scholarly publication, advances the racist – and according to critics,potentially genocidal – notion that “whiteness” is a “malignant” health ailment that can only be treated through “psychic and social-historical interventions.”

“Whiteness is a condition one first acquires and then one has—a malignant, parasitic-like condition to which ‘white’ people have a particular susceptibility,” Moss writes in the abstract of the paper, titled “On Having Whiteness.” Moss adds, “The condition is foundational, generating characteristic ways of being in one’s body, in one’s mind, and in one’s world.”

“Parasitic Whiteness renders its hosts’ appetites voracious, insatiable, and perverse. These deformed appetites particularly target nonwhite peoples,” the article continues. “Once established, these appetites are nearly impossible to eliminate. Effective treatment consists of a combination of psychic and social-historical interventions. Such interventions can reasonably aim only to reshape Whiteness’s infiltrated appetites—to reduce their intensity, redistribute their aims, and occasionally turn those aims toward the work of reparation.”

Moss concludes that “When remembered and represented, the ravages wreaked by the chronic condition can function either as warning (‘never again’) or as temptation (‘great again’). Memorialization alone, therefore, is no guarantee against regression. There is not yet a permanent cure.”

The paper’s polarizing claims have received zero coverage from corporate media, though it has drawn attention on social media this week.
