I honestly don't know what to make of this. A B52 from Barksdale AFB, LA flew up to the DC area and at low altitude made several orbits over Dunkirk, then without climbing out, made a run directly over the middle of DC proper and is now heading back to BAFB.

There have been in an increase in the number of squawking B52 sorties of late, but it's been the usual expected stuff of going to a restricted area and dropping practice bombs, or doing formation work with the tankers, etc. Other than a few 'hard diplomacy' runs overseas, this is the first time I've something like this stateside. I wonder if there's an airshow or something.

Decided to pull up the flight history on this and it looks like he made a pass directly over the center of DC at 0955 at 2,100'. When your wingspan is 185' that is only about 10 wingspans high above the ground. It would've made for an impressive sight from the ground. Eight huge turbofans complete the effect.
