Shi Zhengli – the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s”Bat Woman” – thanked the U.S. National Institutes of Health along with “longtime collaborators” such as the Anthony Fauci-funded Peter Daszak and Ralph Baric in a presentation on bat coronaviruses unearthed by The National Pulse.

The slide, which comes from Shi’s keynote at the European Scientific Working group on Influenza’s (ESWI) 2020 conference, is the latest piece of evidence that American taxpayer dollars were funding research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The unearthed presentation follows Senator Rand Paul questioning Dr. Anthony Fauci on his NIH agency’s financial ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology and the Chinese Communist Party-award winning Shi.

“For years, Dr. Ralph Baric, a virologist in the U.S., has been collaborating with Dr. Shi Zhengli of the Wuhan Virology Institute, sharing his discoveries about how to create super viruses. This gain-of-function research has been funded by the NIH. Dr. Fauci, do you still support funding of the NIH funding of the lab in Wuhan,” Senator Paul inquired before Fauci asserted the claims were “entirely and completely incorrect.”

In yet another blow to Fauci’s statement, the concluding slide of Shi’s presentation extends “acknowledgments” to Baric and Peter Daszak, the president of Fauci-funded EcoHealth Alliance. “I would like to thank all the collaborators, particularly my longtime collaborators Linfa Wang, Peter Daszak, and Ralph Baric,” she notes.

Rep. Chip Roy Unveils Bill Banning Chinese Communist Party Members from Buying U.S. Land

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) will introduce legislation Friday designed to ban Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members from purchasing land in the U.S., according to The Spectator.

Currently, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) reviews some purchase agreements by foreign entities who seek to acquire land in the U.S. The Securing America’s Land from Foreign Interference Act will be put forward by Roy and fellow Texas Republican lawmakers Reps. Lance Gooden and Randy Weber.

“In their quest for global domination, China has been buying up land and strategic infrastructure all over the world and in the United States,” Roy stated.

“Direct Chinese investment in the US economy is a major threat to the American way of life and requires that we take serious action to thwart the Chinese Communist party (CCP) from ever seizing control of strategically valuable domestic assets in the US,” the congressman continued.

“In Texas, a Chinese based energy company purchased more than 130,000 acres of land near Laughlin Air Force Base and is now attempting to build a wind farm to access the U.S. power grid,” he added.

The development comes after the Senate voted to approve legislation which would increase investment in American science and technology programs aimed at combat China’s continued rise.

Lawmakers voted 68-32 to approve the Innovation and Competition Act, which provides $200 billion in funding for U.S. scientific and technological advancements throughout the next five years.

The bill drafted by Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Sen. Todd Young, R-Ind., provides $52 billion in assistance for semiconductor manufacturing companies to produce computer chips that are used to power military devices and computer products such as vehicles, cellphones and video game consoles.

Another $81 billion would be provided to the National Science Foundation Budget between fiscal years 2022 and 2026.

Judge Halts Debt Relief Program For Farmers Of Color After White Farmers Sue

A federal judge Thursday afternoon suspended a loan forgiveness program that issues relief to farmers and agricultural workers of color.

Judge William Griesbach of Wisconsin’s Eastern District handed down a temporary restraining order after the conservative Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) filed a lawsuit in April. The group alleged in its announcement that President Joe Biden’s relief program was unconstitutional and that white farmers should have been included in the loan program.

“The Court recognized that the federal government’s plan to condition and allocate benefits on the basis of race raises grave constitutional concerns and threatens our clients with irreparable harm, said Rick Esenberg, WILL’s president and general counsel, in a press release Thursday. “The Biden administration is radically undermining bedrock principles of equality under the law.”

The group is representing 12 famers across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa, Arkansas, Oregon, Kentucky and South Dakota, according to its press release.

“There should absolutely be no federal dollars going anywhere just based on race,” Adam Faust, one of two Wisconsin farmers involved in the suit, told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

WILL’s suit specifically asked that Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and Farm Service Agency Administrator Zach Ducheneaux not consider race when issuing the relief. The $4 billion in loan relief was passed in March as part of Biden’s coronavirus relief package, with the state goal of undoing systemic racism within the agriculture industry.

Wisconsin Senate Passes Bill Banning Zuckerberg-Style Election Interference.

The Wisconsin State Senate has passed a bill prohibiting the outside, private financing of elections – a move that follows the Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s large-scale 2020 election interference.

As originally reported by The National Pulse ahead of the 2020 election, Zuckerberg ploughed cash into heavily Democrat districts in order to privately march more left-wing voters to the ballot box.

Prior to last year’s election, Senator Josh Hawley highlighted that employees from the six largest tech firms of Silicon Valley, including Facebook, donated almost $5 million to the Biden-Harris presidential campaign. Only $239,000 had been donated by the tech firms’ employees to the Trump campaign.

Now, Wisconsin Senate bill SB 207 attempts to ban the practice of private funding of elections, though it is expected to be vetoed by Democratic Governor Tony Evers.

According to local news sites, the bills approved include:

SB 207 – prohibiting local governments from applying for and accepting private money to cover the costs of administering an election;

SB 208 – requiring the Elections Commission to post draft minutes of its meetings within 48 hours of a meeting or hearing;

SB 213 – allowing district attorneys to investigate some election law violations in counties contiguous to theirs.

Research director Will Flanders of the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty said, following the release of a new report into election integrity: “This analysis provides convincing evidence that the CTCL grants played a role in increasing turnout for Joe Biden in 2020. Wisconsin lawmakers should act to ensure local election administration isn’t captured by private money seeking partisan advantage.”

‘Not a Huge Deal’ to Wear Masks Forever, Says ‘Communist Party’ Scientist Advising UK Govt

A member of the government’s scientific advisory committee, who is allegedly a paid-up communist, has said that wearing masks and social distancing should continue for the “long term” to suppress the Chinese coronavirus and other diseases.

University College London Professor Susan Michie, who according to the British Telegraph and socialist newspaper the Morning Star is a member of the Communist Party of Britain, sits on the influential Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) which advises ministers on how to respond to the pandemic and said that “people’s behaviour” was key in controlling the pandemic.

Professor Michie told Channel 5 on Thursday, according to The Telegraph: “That is the behaviour of social distancing, of when you’re indoors, making sure there’s good ventilation or if it’s not, wearing face masks, of hands and surface hygiene. We will need to keep this going in the long term and that will be good not only for Covid, but also to reduce others [sic] diseases.”

Asked for how long the measures should continue, Professor Michie, who had reportedly earned in her youth the nickname “Stalin’s nanny”, said: “I think forever to some extent because this isn’t going to be the last pandemic.”

Michie, whose brother was best friends with Labour strategist and Stalin apologist Seumas Milne and was married to a former advisor to Jeremy Corbyn, added that Britons should get used to carrying masks the way they carry mobile phones or keys, claiming: “It’s not going to be a huge big deal, the kind of changes we’re talking about.”

Similarly, in December 2020, Jonathan Van-Tam, the UK’s deputy chief medical officer, had said that mask-wearing could go on “for years”, saying: “Do I think there will come a big moment where we have a massive party and throw our masks and hand sanitiser and say, ‘That’s it, it’s behind us’, like the end of the war? No, I don’t.

“I think those kinds of habits that we have learned from… will perhaps persist for many years, and that may be a good thing if they do.”

Michie’s remarks come as reports from The Times suggested that the government is considering a two- to four-week delay to lifting restrictions. Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected on Monday to announce whether all COVID-19 restrictions will be ended from June 21st.

“A proper reopening is still in play but seen as unlikely,” a government source told the newspaper of record. “Senior people are making the case for that. The argument is that we are going to have new variants all of the time and we have to learn to live with them.”

There have come increasing calls from within the scientific community to delay the end of restrictions in the face of the Indian variant of the Chinese virus, with NERVTAG (New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group) member Professor Ravi Gupta predicting it could cause a third wave.

‘We’ve Ceded the Battle to the Cartels’ – Biden’s DHS Won’t Let Border Patrol Arrest Human Smugglers.

Under the Biden regime, US Border Patrol agents are being told not to arrest human smugglers offloading groups of illegal immigrants into the US right in front of them.

A Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officer told the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) that all federal officers who work along the river are now subject to this “stand-down” attitude for operations.

CIS relates a now increasingly common scene:

“The Border Patrol agents working under the international bridge here got busy fast with ‘processing’ duty after the first three rubber rafts delivered their loads of illegal immigrant families.

But with another raft about to land, the occupied Border Patrol supervisory agent on scene asked a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officer to please go over and bring those immigrants in for processing, but to do so with this proviso:

‘Don’t arrest him,’ the supervisor warned about the raft’s paddler, who would soon stand on U.S. soil within arm’s reach of the DPS officer to land the immigrants.”

The state DPS officer explained that another reason Border Patrol agents are not arresting human smugglers is that federal prosecutors simply will not prosecute, but will rather release the smugglers.

“They know [federal prosecutors] won’t prosecute; they’ll let them go,” said the DPS officer as he walked toward the raft of migrants arriving. “Then, he’ll [the boat smuggler] just be right back. The Border Patrol agents won’t do it because they have no backing, none whatsoever. So there’s no use.” Border Patrol agents see arresting the human smugglers as futile.

Human Smugglers Up Facebook Advertising for ‘Safe Passage’ to U.S.

Human smugglers continue using Facebook to advertise safe passage to the U.S., a practice that has increased in recent months during the ongoing migration crisis at the southern border.

Through the use of Facebook groups and pages, human smugglers are able to advertise their services by promoting routes and rates. According to a new report by the Tech Transparency Project, smugglers post videos showing groups of migrants successfully crossing desert areas and the Rio Grande.

After being presented with a list of 50 groups which advertised human smuggling services, Facebook only took down half, the report explained.

Breitbart Texas previously reported on the widespread use of social media by human smugglers in the South Texas region where they advertised “100 percent” success. In early April, Rep. John Katko (R-NY) requested a briefing from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security about efforts to keep social media platforms from advertising human smuggling. Some officials have partially blamed social media as a factor contributing to the ongoing border crisis.

A prominent podcast personality on the “woke left” is facing serious allegations of sexually exploiting a 16-year-old.

Justin Cass, who performed as Virgil Texas on the “Bernie Bro” podcast Chapo Trap House from 2016 to 2021, and now co-hosts the Bad Faith podcast with former Bernie Sanders campaign manager Briahna Joy Gray, was publicly denounced as a sexual predator by a woman identifying herself as Jennifer Seberg on Twitter yesterday.

Rumors of Cass’ penchant for underage girls have swirled in Brooklyn left circles for years. One source told National Justice that most of his close colleagues in the Democratic Socialist movement have known for years and that fears of this being made public played a role in him leaving Chapo Trap House.

According to Seberg, Cass began a romantic relationship with her in 2013, when she was a 16-year-old high school student. While the two never met in person, Seberg asserts that Cass would talk her into engaging in sex acts on video over FaceTime for his gratification.

Cass, who National Justice can report is in his mid-30s, would’ve been in his late 20s at the time.

Another source, who asked to remain anonymous, told National Justice that they believe Cass — who unlike other Chapo Trap House podcasters was aggressively anti-white and pro-Transsexual by Bernie Bro standards — was being blackmailed by a network of women familiar with his alleged sexual proclivities.

The source said that Cass was close to Vice columnist and “sex work” activist Rachel Rabbit White and Antifa organizer Jamie Peck, who began infiltrating the Bernie movement around 2018-19 by allegedly allowing male leftist influencers participate in their drug fueled bisexual orgies in Brooklyn.

Thanks in part to this transactional socializing, the person said, Bernie’s 2020 campaign was significantly more focused on open borders, black grievance politics and various boutique sexual issues like transgenderism and legalizing “sex work” that overshadowed his signature economic populist issues. While Bernie Sanders’ second run was much better funded, had more elite support and had household name recognition, the “woke” platform he ran on was soundly rejected by voters in an abysmal electoral showing.

Both Gray and Cass are ignoring the allegations. The Patreon account for the Bad Faith podcast, which rakes in over $30,000 a month — is still up and Gray is continuing to make media appearances.

Fans of Cass are dismissing the claims as specious. Drama-hungry leftist women and transsexuals, however, are not letting up, with multiple accounts accusing Cass of being a “pedophile” on Twitter. So far, only the liberal blog Daily Dot has reported on it.

Mystery malware steals 26M passwords from PCs… EA breached — game source code, tools stolen…

Researchers have discovered yet another massive trove of sensitive data, a dizzying 1.2TB database containing login credentials, browser cookies, autofill data, and payment information extracted by malware that has yet to be identified.

In all, researchers from NordLocker said on Wednesday, the database contained 26 million login credentials, 1.1 million unique email addresses, more than 2 billion browser cookies, and 6.6 million files. In some cases, victims stored passwords in text files created with the Notepad application.

The stash also included over 1 million images and more than 650,000 Word and .pdf files. Additionally, the malware made a screenshot after it infected the computer and took a picture using the device’s webcam. Stolen data also came from apps for messaging, email, gaming, and file-sharing. The data was extracted between 2018 and 2020 from more than 3 million PCs.

Online forum posts reviewed by CNN Business and vetted by an independent cybersecurity expert show that on June 6, hackers claimed to have obtained 780 gigabytes of data from EA (EA), including the Frostbite source code, which is the game engine that powers the FIFA, Madden, and Battlefield series of video games, among others.

The hackers claimed to offer “full capability of exploiting on all EA services.” They also claimed to have stolen software development tools for FIFA 21 and server code for player matchmaking in FIFA 22.

No jab, no phone: Unvaccinated to have SIM cards blocked. What next?

Punjab’s provincial government is turning to coercive measures to increase participation in its Covid-19 vaccination program, after unveiling plans to disable the SIM cards of people who decline to get jabbed.

The extreme decision was made during a meeting of high-ranking civil and military officials chaired by Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid.

Rashid said that the policy would disable SIM cards belonging to those who fail to get vaccinated “beyond a certain time.”

“We are doing all we can to compel people to get vaccinated… The government cannot allow individuals, who do not want to get vaccinated, to risk lives of those who are already vaccinated,” the health minister told Pakistan’s Express Tribune. She said that the provincial government would devise a timeline for the policy’s implementation once it received formal approval from the National Command and Operation Center, which coordinates Pakistan’s national response to Covid-19.

Half of all COVID unemployment relief was stolen - and most of of the $400 billion in illegally-claimed handouts were funneled to Russia, China and Nigeria, experts claim

Up to $400 billion in COVID unemployment relief was stolen - and more than half that cash was funneled to criminals in Russia, China and Nigeria, it was claimed.

The United States lost as much as 50% of all unemployment relief, as much as $400 billion, through fraudulent claims, Blake Hall told Axios. Hall is the CEO of ID.me CEO, a company that provides fraud prevention services.

Some experts are considering the theft a matter of national security with cash ending up in the hands of criminal groups based in Russia, China and Nigeria.

More than 70% of the $400 billion feared to have been stolen was pilfered by state-backed foreign criminal groups, Haywood Talcove told Axios.

'These groups are definitely backed by the state,' said Talcove, the CEO of LexisNexis Risk Solutions.

U.S. street gangs reportedly stole much of the rest of the money.

White House economist Gene Sperling noted to Axios that much of the fraud happened during the administration of former President Donald Trump.

'Widespread fraud at the state level in pandemic unemployment insurance during the previous Administration is one of the most serious challenges we inherited,' Sperling told Axios.

'President Biden has been clear that this type of activity from criminal syndicates is despicable and unacceptable. It is why we passed $2 billion for UI modernizations in the American Rescue Plan, instituted a Department of Justice Anti-Fraud Task Force and an all-of-government Identity Theft and Public Benefits Initiative.'

Experts and politicians had assumed that some money would be stolen through fraud as unemployment systems in states across the country were not prepared to handle the demands of the pandemic.

However, the estimates provided by Hall and Talcove show the incredible extent of possible unemployment insurance fraud over the last year.

Axios explained that some thieves were likely able to defraud the government by stealing people's personal information to impersonate them and claim the money while others may have tricked real claimants into giving them their information.

Once the information was stolen, lower-level criminals, called 'mules,' would withdraw the money from ATMs and convert it to Bitcoin - which can be sent in a way that is impossible to trace - to transfer it abroad.

The U.S. Department of Labor notes on its website that most victims of unemployment identity theft 'are unaware that claims have been filed' and collected using their identities.

'Many people only find out unemployment identity theft occurred when they receive something in the mail, such as a payment or state issued 1099-G tax form that’s incorrect or for benefits not received,' the website reads.

The Labor Department maintains a database of contact information for individual states for those who believe they have been a victim of unemployment identity theft.

G7 leaders to pledge 1 billion COVID vaccines for world and target big tech companies with new digital tax as conference formally begins

President Joe Biden and leaders of the G7 will pledge 1 billion shots in arms of the COVID vaccine for the world, support a 15 per cent global minimum corporate tax, and target Big Tech with a new tax as the summit begins.

Of those billion shots, half will come from the United States and 100 million from the U.K.

'We're going to help lead the world out of this pandemic working alongside our global partners,' Biden said on Thursday, adding that the G7 nations would join the U.S. in outlining their vaccine donation commitments at the three-day summit. The G-7 also includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.

The leaders will gather on Friday for opening greetings and a socially-distanced family photo, before pivoting to a session 'Building Back Better From COVID-19.'

The world leaders of the seven industrial nations will also second an agreement made earlier by their finance ministers on the global minimum corporate tax.

The update to international tax law is intended to end a global competition that has led some countries to cut their corporate taxes much lower than others in order to attract multinational companies to their shores.

It's a big win for Biden's administration, which has proposed the global minimum tax as a way to pay for infrastructure projects. Biden wants to hike corporate taxes in the US and a global minimum will help combat fears his move could cause jobs to move overseas.

The leaders will also announce a plan to replace Digital Services Taxes, which targeted the biggest American tech companies - such as Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google - with a new tax plan linked to the places where multinationals are actually doing business, rather than where they are headquartered.

Later the leaders will meet Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the Royal Family at the Eden Project, a lush, domed eco-tourism site built in a former quarry pit.

Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge will join the G7 leaders at the reception.

On Thursday, world leaders from G7 countries arrived in Britain.

Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived at Cornwall Airport in Newquay wearing a face mask and waved from the exit of his jet beside his country's coat of arms and maple leaf flag.

European Council President Charles Michel also arrived ahead of the G7 meeting at the airport on June 10, and was met by a selection of British soldiers, sailors and airmen.

Chinese researchers in Wuhan conduct experiments on MUTANT ANIMALS, infect them with engineered viruses

Chinese researchers in Wuhan – ground zero of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic – are conducting experiments using bioengineered animals.

Reports being leaked out of China indicated that the Chinese researchers are experimenting on at least 1,000 genetically engineered animals. These include lab mice engineered to have humanized lungs and monkeys that have mutated genes that make them age faster than normal. These animals sometimes get injected with engineered viruses, including ones that are very similar to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

In an article titled “The Possible Origins of 2019-nCoV Coronavirus,” two Chinese academics claimed that the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s lab in Wuhan had animals riddled with diseases, including 605 bats. The article mentioned how one of the researchers there was once attacked by bats and that a bat’s blood made contact with the person’s skin.

These kinds of laboratories are meant to be extremely safe and secure. But even if that is the case and even if the people that work there are highly skilled professionals, dealing with live animals can still be a challenge.

Not only do these animals have their own thoughts, but they can also attack, excrete waste and shed skin and fur which might have parasites. This prolonged contact with animals carries the risk of contamination.

Other articles written by Chinese researchers have described how scientists in Wuhan captured bats from caves without using protective equipment. One researcher who did not wear a protective suit was sprayed with bat urine, which was said to be “dripping like raindrops” from his body.

Another article described how a team led by a well-known bat expert and virologist from Wuhan used a horseshoe bat to create a highly infectious virus that targeted the human upper respiratory tract.

“No wonder so many experts say COVID did leak from Wuhan research center,” wrote journalist and political commentator Jasper Becker for the Daily Mail.

Did Joe say no? Biden's brother James and his wife Sarah abandon clean energy investment firm they set up last month in the UK after a White House ethics review

President Joe Biden's brother James Biden has abandoned a new clean-energy investment firm he launched in the United Kingdom after a White House ethics review and new rules aimed at banning conflicts of interest.

James Biden, and his wife Sarah Biden, had started a limited liability partnership called 2BT, Financial Times reported, which planned to invest in firms transitioning away from using fossil fuels to green energy sources instead.

The Bidens and Peter Teare, a partner at Reed Smith, established another venture called Shelbourne Partners through 2BT, but that project has since been abandoned.

Teare told Financial Times it would be 'mistaken' to think that decision to scrap the company was related to the review - but did not appear to provide another explanation for why the project was axed.

He told the outlet that he could not discuss the private business affairs of the Bidens, including reasons 'why they may decide to pursue a particular opportunity or not.'

Shelbourne Partners was established to 'explore prospective investment opportunities, particularly in the clean-energy sector,' Teare told the Financial Times.

UK Hypes China ‘Threat’ While Selling Country Billions in Military-Related Equipment

Last year saw a tripling in exports to Beijing of “dual use” items defined as “civilian goods with a military purpose,” Mark Curtis reports.

The U.K. government has authorized the sale of £2.6-billion worth of military and civilian equipment with potential military use to China in the past three years, government figures show.

Last year saw a tripling in exports to China of “dual use” items defined as “civilian goods with a military purpose.” Some £1.6-billion worth were authorised in 2020, compared to £526-million in 2019.

The increase coincided with the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in early 2020. The exports have been approved while China is identified by the British government as “an increasing risk to U.K. interests” and “the biggest state-based threat to the U.K.’s economic security.”

Most British exports were for “dual use” equipment but £53-million worth classified purely as “military” went to China over the three years 2018-20, including components for combat aircraft and military support aircraft.

Other items licensed for use by China included military communications equipment and technology for air defense systems.

The U.K. has banned the sale of “lethal” military equipment to China since the Tiananmen Square massacre of 1989. However, the British exports are likely to benefit China’s air force, which British ministers claim is a growing military threat.

Defence Minister Jeremy Quin said in March that “the likes of Russia and China have studied our strengths in the air and begun developing the capabilities to not only counter but surpass us.”

Britain is also aiding China’s naval capacity. Ministers approved two export licences in 2019 for components for combat naval vessels that were identified as being for “end use by the [military] Navy.”

The previous year, approvals were given to sell components for combat naval vessels and for military radars where China’s navy was also stated to be the end user. Other British exports likely to benefit the Chinese navy have included technology for combat naval vessels and for “military patrol/assault craft.”

General Nick Carter, the head of the U.K. armed forces, now laments that Beijing commands “the largest maritime surface and sub-surface now laments that Beijing commands “the largest maritime surface and sub-surface battle force in the world.”

The U.K. military identifies China as posing a particular challenge in the South China Sea, where Beijing is building bases on disputed atolls in the Spratly and Paracel Islands, which are also claimed by other states in the region.

In March, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said China was a “threat” in the contested sea.

White House to Tap Former Destroyer Captain Carlos Del Toro as Navy Secretary

The White House has selected Carlos Del Toro, a Naval Academy graduate and former commanding officer of a destroyer, as its nominee for Navy secretary.

Two sources familiar with the matter confirmed Del Toro's selection and said the White House is likely to make the announcement Friday.

Politico first reported the impending nomination Friday.

Del Toro graduated from Annapolis in 1983 with a degree in electrical engineering and served at sea multiple times, according to a biography on the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation website. His deployments include stints in the Persian Gulf during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, as well as missions to the Mediterranean and Black seas and the Pacific Ocean.

He became the commissioning commanding officer of the then-new destroyer Bulkeley in 1998, the alumni association's website states. This made him the first Latino officer in the U.S. Navy ever to serve as the first captain of an Aegis-capable cruiser or destroyer; he guided the ship through its christening, maiden voyage, commissioning, sea trials and first deployment, according to the bio.

Del Toro, a Cuban immigrant, was born in Havana and came to the United States in 1962, the bio adds.

If confirmed, he would be the second Latino Navy secretary in U.S. history; Edward Hidalgo served during the Carter administration.

After leaving the Navy, Del Toro founded the government contracting firm SBG Technology Solutions in 2004.

He and his wife Betty have four children.

Washington Moves To Make Sensitive Private Data Available For “Minority Report”-Style A.I. Research

Earlier this week, the investigative journalism outfit ProPublica published a story using data gleaned from the tax returns of America’s richest individuals to determine exactly how much each of them paid in tax vs. the amount by which their wealth increased in a given year, a number the reporters described as their “true tax” rate.

Needless to say, the story inspired intense conversation online, where rival media organizations were quick to assume that the data was somehow “leaked” to PP. ProPublica was vague in its report, refusing to say or even hint at how it obtained the data, which led one reporter to wonder whether it might have been handed off to PP by academic researchers. It’s also worth mentioning that leaking the tax data from inside the IRS would constitute a major federal crime (obtaining it via a third party who had been given the data for some legitimate purpose).

But one thread from Breitbart’s John Carney caught our attention due to his observation that the media might be jumping to conclusions. In his estimation, Carney said, it’s possible that the data could have been released to academics as part of an officially sanctioned research project gone awry.

Carney wonders: how anonymized can personal data be for certain high-profile individuals like billionaires?

Well, while America ponders the answer to that, WSJ reports that the Biden Administration is launching an initiative Thursday aiming at making sensitive data like this much more easily accessible to researchers. In fact, the new portal envisioned by the administration would also research create an opportunity to improve the ability of US scientists to review the data.

“This is a moment that is calling us to be strengthening our speed and scale” when it comes to advances in AI technology, said National Science Foundation Director Sethuraman Panchanathan: “It is also calling us to make sure that innovation is everywhere,” they told WSJ.

America is racing against China to dominate the race for AI, and the government is desperately searching for anything that might give the US an edge. Now, the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource Task Force, a group of 12 members from academia, government, and industry, is reportedly drafting a strategy for potentially giving researchers access to stores of data about Americans, from demographics to health and driving habits.

One member of the task force told WSJ that researchers need access to this data in order to “investigate a lot of their really great ideas in AI.”

Lynne Parker, assistant director of artificial intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, said the task force announced Thursday would aim to give Congress a road map for creating a common research infrastructure the government could offer to outsiders.

“In order to investigate a lot of their really great ideas in AI, they need access to powerful computing infrastructure and they need access to data,” she said. Many researchers, particularly in academia, “simply don’t have access to these computational resources and data, and this is hampering innovation.”

One example: The Transportation Department has access to a set of data gathered from vehicle sensors about how people drive, said Erwin Gianchandani, senior adviser at the National Science Foundation and co-chair of the new AI task force.

House unveils bipartisan bills to rein in tech giants

A House antitrust panel on Friday unveiled a bipartisan agenda made up of five bills that would give regulators greater authority to rein in the power of tech giants.

The bills put forward by leaders of the House Judiciary Antitrust Subcommittee follow a blockbuster report released by the Judiciary panel last year alleging ways that Alphabet, Amazon, Apple and Facebook abuse their market power. The report was approved on a party-line vote earlier this year.

Each of the five bills unveiled on Friday includes a Republican co-sponsor.

A bill sponsored by subcommittee Chairman David Cicilline (D-R.I.) and co-sponsored by Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Texas) would prohibit tech giants from self-preferencing their own products on their platforms, targeting alleged anti-competitive behavior of Apple in its App Store and Amazon on its digital marketplace.

Another bill, sponsored by Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) and Gooden, would eliminate the ability of dominant platforms to use their control over multiple businesses to self-preference or disadvantage competitors in ways that undermine free and fair competition.

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) and Ranking Member Ken Buck (R-Colo.) are sponsoring a bill that would prohibit platforms from acquiring competitive threats by dominant platforms.

This bill comes as Facebook is facing a lawsuit from the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general that targets its acquisition of WhatsApp and Instagram, and similar criticism has been raised over Google’s deal to buy fitness tracking company Fitbit.

Another bill sponsored by Reps. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-Pa.) and Burgess Owens (R-Utah) would require online platforms to lower barriers for users and businesses to switch data to other services.

The final bill introduced Friday by Reps. Joe Neguse (D-Colo.) and Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.) would increase the filing fees paid to antitrust agencies for merger reviews. It’s a companion bill to one introduced by Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) that was added to the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act that the upper chamber passed Tuesday.

Feds subpoenaed Hunter Biden during 2016 election, raising worry over unpaid taxes on Ukraine work

Lawyers and accountants prepared "proffer" to federal authorities, scrambled to devise narrative on unpaid taxes in emails that undercut president's longtime claim his son did nothing wrong.

As the 2016 election kicked into full gear, Hunter Biden’s inner circle feared an impending federal criminal indictment of his long-time business partner might expose the then-vice president’s son to legal jeopardy because he had avoided paying taxes on income from the Ukrainian gas firm Burisma Holdings, according to emails on an abandoned laptop seized by the FBI.

The emails capture the real-time communications of Hunter Biden with defense lawyers and a corporate accountant after federal authorities subpoenaed some of his business records five years ago. The document demand sent his inner circle scrambling to develop a story to explain the unpaid taxes from 2014 and 2015 and prepare a “proffer” — an offer of testimony — to give to federal prosecutors and the FBI, IRS and Securities and Exchange Commission agents investigating his partner Devon Archer.

Hunter Biden revealed late last year he is under federal investigation for tax issues, but the emails obtained by Just the News show the president’s youngest son has been worried about federal exposure on taxes since April 2016, long before Donald Trump was elected president or Biden's Ukraine business dealings became the focus of scandal and an impeachment trial.

Emails written five years ago by Eric Schwerin, an executive inside the Rosemont Seneca business empire where Hunter Biden worked, show there was about $1 million in personal income — about $400,000 in 2014 and $600,000 in 2015 — that the younger Biden had earned as a board member and consultant for Burisma that had not been fully covered by U.S. tax payments.

“Hunter and I talked briefly this morning and feel good with where we are on the taxes and the narrative regarding that,” Schwerin wrote defense lawyers George Mesires and Michael McPhail on April 14, 2016 as the team tried to secure a cooperation agreement with federal authorities.

The inner circle devised a strategy for Hunter Biden to file an extension to file his 2015 taxes and “begin the process of amending the 2014 returns to reflect the Burisma payments from 2014,” the emails stated. The move would buy time so that Hunter Biden’s team could develop a proffer and produce documents to federal prosecutors to avoid becoming ensnared in the criminal case against Archer, the emails revealed.

“Fresh and Never Frozen” : The Horrifying Government Purchase of Fetal Organs

The federal court is recognizing that “there is reason to question whether the transactions violate federal law barring the sale of fetal organs.”

Judicial Watch represents the Center for Medical Progress in two lawsuits against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to obtain records on grant applications related to the sale of human fetal tissue. Discussing the numerous Freedom of Information Act document requests on the topic, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton stated “I’ve never seen documents as horrifying as the documents related to our cases, lawsuits, and investigations about the use of federal tax dollars to purchase the fetal remains … of aborted babies.”

As Fitton recounted Friday, recently obtained documents include “credit card receipts for thymuses and livers,” along with other organs that officials insisted be purchased “fresh and never frozen.”

As readers might recall, the Trump administration placed a moratorium on intramural research, i.e. “projects involving fetal tissue from elective abortions at the National Institutes of Health” in June of 2019. “That’s all been lifted by Joe Biden,” Fitton stated. “The spigot has been turned back on for your tax dollars to be used to sell fetal organs … the organs of dead un-born children to create “humanized mice” to test “biologic drug products.”

Fitton concluded in stating:

“When the federal government conducts shocking research that involves human fetal tissue, Americans have a right to know basic information about where these human remains come from, who is providing them, how they are acquired and why the research is necessary.”

A Member of the Anti-Defamation League’s Diversity Council is Embroiled in an Anti-Semitism Scandal. The Anti-Semitism Watchdog Has Nothing to Say About It.

Google sits on ADL's corporate leadership council on diversity

The Anti-Defamation League, which bills itself as an anti-bigotry watchdog group, is curiously silent in the face of anti-Semitic remarks from an employee of a key member of its corporate diversity council.

Google, which reassigned a top employee last week after a Washington Free Beacon report on his anti-Semitic remarks, is among a handful of corporations that work with the ADL on diversity issues. "We thank these corporations and others who stand with us to help us build diversity," a recent ADL report said, recognizing Google as a partner in its efforts.

Google came under fire last week for the anti-Semitic remarks made by its then-diversity chief, Kamau Bobb, who said in a 2007 blog post that Jews have an "insatiable appetite for war." Bobb is still working on Google’s tech education initiatives, although he was removed from his diversity role after the Free Beacon reported on his comments.

An ADL spokesman did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

The ADL's silence follows criticism that the group has taken a biased and partisan approach under director Jonathan Greenblatt, who joined the organization after serving as an aide to President Barack Obama. The group criticized Facebook—which is not listed as a member of its corporate leadership council—for its failure to permanently ban President Donald Trump from the platform due to his "hate and disinformation" posts and also vocally condemned Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination.

It is unclear if Google has donated to the ADL. An ADL pamphlet advertising the corporate leadership council says that corporate leaders interested in joining should contact its fundraising department.

Bobb drew controversy earlier this month after the Free Beacon reported on a blog post he wrote about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in which he described Jews as insatiably violent.

"If I were a Jew I would be concerned about my insatiable appetite for war and killing in defense of myself," he wrote in a Nov. 30, 2007, post on his personal blog, where he was still actively publishing as recently as April 2021. "Self defense is undoubtedly an instinct, but I would be afraid of my increasing insensitivity to the suffering [of] others."

Bobb later said he was "deeply sorry" for the post, which he acknowledged "crudely" characterized Jews. Google followed up with a statement saying it "unequivocally condemn[ed]" Bobb’s comments and said he would be removed from the diversity team but would remain with the company to work on science and education issues.

"He will no longer be part of our diversity team going forward and will focus on his STEM work," said Google.

The group has also been accused of engaging in partisan attacks—such as its immediate condemnation of Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination—while downplaying or ignoring anti-Semitic remarks from Democrats.

Writing in the Jewish News Syndicate in 2018, Jonathan Tobin described Greenblatt’s opposition to Kavanaugh as "the act of a reckless partisan who doesn’t even feel the need to maintain the pretense that the group he leads has a higher purpose than diving into the daily political scrum."

Last summer, the ADL launched a campaign asking advertisers to boycott Facebook and claiming that "hate, extremism and misinformation still thrive on Facebook in sanctioned misinformation, conspiracy theories, and unmoderated hateful groups."

The campaign coincided with the ADL’s lobbying effort to get Facebook to ban Trump. Last week, Greenblatt issued a press release saying that Facebook’s decision to extend Trump’s suspension for two more years "simply doesn't go far enough."

"We and the Stop Hate for Profit coalition will push for this to be a permanent ban as we also expect them to take stronger action to combat the onslaught of antisemitic and racist content as well as all forms of hate on the platform," said Greenblatt.

China proposes the U.S. cut nuclear arsenals ‘to preserve world peace and security’ during UN-backed conference

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke Friday at the Conference on Disarmament in Beijing, recommending that the United States and Russia cut their nuclear arsenals. The United Nations recognizes the conference as a single multilateral disarmament negotiating forum for the international community.

Without naming them. Wang pointed to the U.S. and Russia as the focal point for disarmament as he addressed the conference of 65 nations. “The two largest nuclear-weapon States should further slash their nuclear arsenals in a verifiable, irreversible and legally binding manner to create conditions for the multilateral nuclear disarmament process,” Wang said.

Meanwhile, China is the fifth largest nuclear-weapon country. The United States is number one, followed by Russia, the United Kingdom and France. Just Wednesday, top Republican lawmakers wrote a letter to President Biden warning him that China is engaging in a nuclear build-up that could soon near “nuclear parity” with the U.S.

“Advancing international arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation processes is an important means to preserve world peace and security,” Wang said. He also implied that if the U.S. and Russia cut their arsenals, other nations would follow.

“A nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought,” Wang said.

ARIZONA AUDIT UPDATE: More Forensics Stations Set Up – FIVE MORE STATES Visit Audit Center – Only ONE PALLET OF BALLOTS REMAINING

The Arizona audit hand-counting process is coming to an end as the counters began counting the LAST pallet of boxes at 9:55 AM on Friday.

Today, FIVE states will receive a tour of this historic process including Utah, Oklahoma, Michigan, Washington and Georgia.

The audit floor now has significantly fewer counting tables, as more room is being made for forensic evaluation tables. Here, ballots are checked for accurate folds in ballots, fake ballots, possible machine printed ballots or anything out of the ordinary.

This is everything that the County’s audit did not check.

It appears that they now only have 19 hand-counting stations and about SIXTY forensic imaging tables with more to come.

As Christina Bobb Reported on OAN, Pennsylvania is getting ready to do an audit of their own, but it all rides on State Senator Dave Argall, who is needed to issue the necessary subpoenas.
