Help me out with this.

If the purpose of all the mass shootings during the Obama terms was to push for gun control,

and the result of the post-shooting gun control push was ALWAYS a YUGE increase in the purchase of firearms and ammo by the public,

why did they keep trying the 'mass-shooting' tactic? All these shootings ever did was cause the people to arm-up.
