The Divine Right of Kings comes from position. If you're the King, it's God's actions that put you there.
And as your kingship is hereditary, it is God's actions that put your son on the throne.

It used to be accompanied by noblesse oblique; that the "divine right" came with "divine responsibilities". And they used to train their children so.
