It's dirty business for sure, but the proposition that an early release of the vaccines would result in less casualties does make sense. It damaged the lockdown agenda, and communications aren't under tight enough control to hide the stories about blood clots and magnets. If they had more time to clamp down on the internet before the vaccines were approved, many more people might have died.
