Down Antarctica way, in the area including and between King George Island to Elephant Island, an average of 2 earthquakes were recorded per year for the last 20 years.

Except lately.

In the last 365 days, 353 quakes have been registered.

Caruthersville, Mo. and Osceola, Arkansas, there was an average of 8 quakes/yr.

In the last 6 years the average has been 23.5/yr.

This increase in activity can be seen pretty much anywhere on the planet, yet it doesn't make the news.
